Project Overview: The Port Arthur LNG project is a natural gas liquefaction and export terminal in Port Arthur, Texas, with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. The project will include four natural gas liquefaction trains with a production capacity of approximately 25 million tonnes per year - sufficient to power around 1.9 million households annually, based on average U.S. energy consumption-alongside new natural gas pipelines designed to deliver fuel to the terminal under optimal conditions. Job Summary: Bechtel Energy is searching for an enthusiastic project communications specialist to join our Port Arthur LNG project team. This role will support the project's communications efforts; more specifically, it will drive the positive and engaging promotion of project activities and initiatives within the project and across Bechtel. The successful applicant will work closely with the project and Bechtel Energy communications counterparts, project personnel (professional staff and craft professionals), subcontractors, and the Corporate Affairs & Marketing team to proactively manage the company and project's reputation throughout the various phases of construction. This position will be based on the Port Arthur LNG jobsite in Port Arthur, Texas. Major Responsibilities: Researching, writing, editing, illustrating, and maintaining content for the communications function, including face-to-face engagements, intranet content, craft communications, and change management activities. Championing and promoting Bechtel and project activities to support and build a positive and inclusive culture. Generating story ideas - producing quality content for internal and external communications channels, including Bechtel.com, SharePoint, emails, online promotions, publications, social media, and marketing materials. Developing effective communication strategies that inform and educate the workforce of upcoming changes through the provision of clear, concise, and timely information. Supporting all disciplines with communications and other activities as required, including the development of presentations, bulletins, toolbox talks, posters, SharePoint content, and other material. Capturing and editing project imagery through photography and videography. Coordinating, managing, and participating in onsite events and activities, including recognition and morale events, all-hands meetings and project leadership visits. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Ability to proactively obtain data required for communication of progress and performance information. Must have the right to work in the United States. Experience in internal communications roles. Exceptional writing and editing skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively translate technical info into compelling content for targeted audiences. Demonstrated ability to capture and edit photography and video. A quick learner with proven ability to communicate complex concepts in compelling, concise, and creative ways. Sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail. Ability to engage others at various levels of the project team and develop and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to take direction from multiple sources and prioritize effectively. Ability to manage multiple project campaigns simultaneously from start to finish while meeting deadlines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite, and email content management systems. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus. Construction and/or LNG industry experience a plus.
