Job Title: SOC Analyst Location: Farmington Hills, MI Contract Duration: 6 Months Pay Rate: $50/hr on W2 Key Responsibilities Security Monitoring & Incident Response (80%) Monitor and analyze security alerts generated from SIEM platforms, ticketing systems, endpoint security tools, cloud security solutions, and network monitoring technologies. Perform initial triage, investigation, and classification of security incidents following documented SOC procedures and incident response playbooks. Analyze suspicious activity, phishing attempts, malware alerts, endpoint threats, and potential data security incidents. Perform basic containment, mitigation, and remediation activities under the guidance of Tier 2/Tier 3 SOC analysts and security leadership. Escalate confirmed or complex security incidents according to defined escalation processes. Support continuous monitoring and threat detection activities across enterprise environments. Documentation & Operational Support (10%) Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of incident investigations, analysis performed, and remediation actions taken. Assist senior SOC analysts with developing knowledge base articles, security procedures, and operational documentation. Handle sensitive security information in compliance with corporate information protection policies. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to troubleshoot security issues and enhance detection capabilities. Additional Responsibilities (10%) Perform other security operations duties and assigned tasks as required. Participate in process improvements to enhance SOC efficiency and incident response capabilities. Required Qualifications Education Minimum: High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of relevant or transferable IT/security experience. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field. Experience Requirements Minimum 2 years of relevant or transferable experience in cybersecurity, IT operations, security monitoring, or incident response. Experience with operating systems, security monitoring, logging, alerting, and investigation processes. Experience working with security tools, ticketing systems, or IT operations environments.
