Social Media Coordinator (Contract) Upper Village BIA Toronto, ON (In-Person / Community-Based) Contract | Flexible Hours About Us The Upper Village BIA is looking for a creative, reliable, and community-minded Social Media Coordinator to help bring our neighbourhood to life online. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys being out in the community, creating engaging content, and telling stories through short-form video and visuals. You will work closely with the BIA team to showcase local businesses, promote events, and highlight everything that makes Upper Village a vibrant place to visit, shop, and explore. Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Content Creation & Management Create and manage content across: * Instagram (including Reels) * TikTok * Facebook Community Content Capture Visit local businesses within the BIA to: * Record short-form videos (Reels and TikToks) * Capture photos of storefronts, products, events, and experiences * Engage with business owners and community members Brand Storytelling & Marketing Develop engaging, on-brand content that highlights: * Local businesses * Events and promotions * Seasonal moments and neighbourhood features * Community initiatives Design & Content Planning * Create graphics and marketing materials using Canva or similar tools * Assist with content planning and scheduling * Stay current on social media trends and recommend fresh ideas * Collaborate with the BIA team to execute campaigns and initiatives Qualifications We?re looking for someone who: * Has experience creating content for social media, especially short-form video * Is comfortable working on-site and interacting with local businesses * Understands Instagram Reels and TikTok trends * Has graphic design skills (Canva or similar platforms) * Has a strong eye for visuals, storytelling, and branding * Can work independently and meet deadlines * Is friendly, professional, and community-oriented Nice to Have * Experience working with BIAs, local businesses, or community events * Video editing experience * Photography skills * Experience with scheduling tools (e.g. Meta Business Suite) * Familiarity with AI tools Job Details * Position Type: Contract * Schedule: Flexible hours * Location: In-person, with regular on-site visits throughout the Upper Village neighbourhood How to Apply Please send the following to hello@uppervillageto.com: * Resume * Portfolio or examples of social media work (links preferred) * A short note explaining why you would be a great fit Application Deadline: June 1, 2026 Pay: From $20.00 per hour Work Location: In person
