About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced and collaborative Software Engineer to join our small, but capable in-house IT team. In this role you will serve as an experienced member of the team tasked to design and deliver trusted and reliable technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way that supports the company’s business objectives. As a core technical contributor your primary responsibility will be building and improving upon our React-based UI. You will also be able to work across our stack when needed. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain tailored software solutions for our React application. Collaborate with internal teams, and external partners, to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with the business’s needs and goals. Act as a key contributor by working directly with users to gather requirements, build prototypes, and deploy working solutions. Enhance existing systems and develop new ones to support the company’s strategic initiatives and evolving business needs. Continually monitor systems to identify problems and identify data sets to drive improvements in code quality, maintainability, and system and/or app performance. Learn and apply best practices in the development and implementation of system processes, methodologies, and development of secure, stable coding systems. Assist teammates with other systems design, development, maintenance, and implementation as needed or directed. Qualifications Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience. Required Skills Demonstrated knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript fundamentals. Strong understanding of React (hooks, component patterns, state management). Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a small business enterprise with multiple programming and querying languages. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Solid Understanding of basic web concepts including HTTP, REST APIs, and client-server architecture. Take pride in writing readable code and testing your work. Preferred Skills Familiarity with CS-in-JS or CSS preprocessors. Working knowledge of backend concepts or databases. Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library).
