Location: Hybrid (Work From Home Eligible) 💼 Employment Type: Full-time 💰 Salary Range: $100,000 – $125,000 + 15% bonus About the Rol eWe're looking for a hands-on Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET ) who is passionate about building scalable, reliable automated testing system s for modern, distributed architectures .This role goes beyond traditional test automation. You'll help shape how AI and LLMs are thoughtfully integrated into testing workflow s, focusing on context-aware automation, planning-driven test generation, and agent-based system s that improve software quality at scale .You'll work across backend services, event-driven systems, and modern frontend applications while collaborating closely with engineers, product teams, and operations . What You'll DoDesign, build, and maintai n end-to-end, integration, and contract test suit es for microservices and event-driven system s.Develo p Playwright + TypeScri pt end-to-end tests for React-based application s.Build and maintai n integration tests in Gola ng for backend service s.Tes t Kafka-based messaging syste ms, including event validation, ordering, and failure scenario s.Identify high-value manual test cases and convert them int o robust automated covera g e.Translate business and technical requirements int o clear test plans and executable automati o n.Integrate automated testing int o CI/CD pipelin es, providing actionable quality and performance metric s.Partner with development teams to improv e testability, reliability, and system observabili t y.Review code and test automation to ensure adherence to best practices and the testing pyrami d. AI-Driven Testing (What Makes This Role Differe nt)We're intentionally investing in AI-enabled testing beyond IDE copilots or chatb ots. In this role, you'll help explore and impleme nt:Context engineer ing to ensure AI systems generate relevant, accurate test scenari os.Planning-first workfl ows where AI proposes test strategies before generating tes ts.Automated test generat ion informed by system contracts, schemas, and real-world failur es.Agent-based approaches and MCP serv ers to safely interact with test runners, CI systems, and observability too ls.Human-in-the-loop validation to ensure AI outputs improve quality—not noi se.Experience with these concepts is a plus, but curiosity and systems thinking are essenti al. What We're Looking ForProven experience building automated test suites for complex, distributed sys t ems.Strong coding skills in eit her TypeScript, Golang, Python, C#, or JavaSc r ipt.Hands-on experience w ith:Playwr ight for end-to-end tes tingK afka or other event-driven messaging sys temsMicroservices architect uresExperience integrating tests i nto CI/CD pipel i nes.Familiarity w ith Docker, Kubern etes, and cloud platfor ms (AWS, GCP, or A zu re).Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think in systems, not just test ca ses.Interest or experience in AI-driven test automa tion and modern testing strateg ies.Experience mentoring or guiding other engineers is a p lus.
