This is a 6-month contract-to-hire role Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire (W2 Only) Location: Remote (United States) Compensation: Starting at $33 per hour W2, plus benefits Software Quality Assurance Engineer We are seeking a Software QA Engineer to perform manual and automated testing across web, iOS, and Android platforms while collaborating with Agile teams to ensure product quality and resolve issues. What You'll Do Analyze unexpected system behavior, identify root causes, and recommend practical solutions that improve overall product quality Design, maintain, and execute manual test cases across web, iOS, and Android platforms Perform functional, integration, and user acceptance testing, documenting outcomes clearly and thoroughly Build and maintain automated test frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright Communicate testing progress, quality risks, and critical issues to stakeholders, along with recommended mitigation strategies Partner with product, engineering, and support teams to troubleshoot and document issues effectively Participate in Scrum ceremonies and contribute actively within an Agile workflow Identify opportunities to strengthen QA processes, reporting practices, and risk coverage Manage multiple testing assignments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, meeting deadlines, and adapting to shifting priorities What You'll Bring 1-2+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering or Assurance, including testing web applications with both manual and automated approaches Hands-on experience with Playwright or Selenium Solid understanding of iOS and Android platforms, including familiarity with their respective debugging tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when navigating complex or ambiguous issues Experience working with relational databases, such as SQL Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices Comfort working in environments where priorities and requirements can shift quickly Nice to Have Familiarity with Postman or Swagger for API testing Experience with performance, usability, accessibility, or security testing Knowledge of programming languages such as Ruby Experience using Trello or similar project management tools Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and best practices for handling sensitive information Ability to work independently, organize competing priorities, and deliver results in deadline-driven settings Exposure to AI-assisted tools such as Copilot
