POSITION SUMMARY The Program Coordinator employs a high level of expertise in the areas of participant support, career development, promotion and administrative responsibilities. The Program Coordinator will promote cross-cultural understanding and facilitate communication between FPDI and program partners. They will identify group training, on-the-job work experience and employment opportunities. The ideal candidate has proficiency in mentoring, motivation, confidence building, guidance, partner relationships and workplace success strategies. The Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Program Officer. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Recruit participants, conduct information sessions, interviews and selection of participants * Work with program participants to provide participant support and mentorship * In consultation with stakeholders, work with the appropriate individual(s) for project activities including selection of participants * Ongoing interaction with participants to discuss any issues or challenges they may be experiencing during program participation * Assist participants to access the required supports throughout the program delivery to enhance retention and ensure success * Assist participants to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals * Assess the strengths of individuals and teach them to use them effectively * Monitor and evaluate participant attendance and progress toward completion * Ensure ongoing communication between training delivery staff, the FPDI team and other relevant stakeholders * Enter and track participant information and reporting using the ARMS online database * Write program reports and prepare briefings on partnership activities for management * Organize and maintain administrative records on program or student records, including hardcopy and electronic records * Maintain professionalism and technical knowledge * Develop new and unique ways to strengthen partnerships and to create new opportunities * Represent FPDI to stakeholders and exercise excellent judgement to maintain credible and meaningful relationships ensuring partnership satisfaction * Research and determine various opportunities/target markets pertinent to training * Identify group training opportunities * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Education/Experience * Minimum of two years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience * Degree in a related subject (Adult Education, Job Coach or Counselling Certificate recognized by an educational institution) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities * Strong organizational and problem-solving skills * Demonstrated experience in partnership and project management * Experience working one-on-one with participants * Ability to maintain confidentiality, and sound decision-making abilities * Outstanding communication, listening and interpersonal skills * Able to inspire and motivate Manage multiple tasks and prioritize * Administrative writing, scheduling, time management, presentation skills * Excellent team work skills * Ability to research the job market and identifying opportunities in the industry Computer Proficiency * Microsoft Office products and electronic communication Personal Characteristics * Energetic and a desire to take on new challenges * Motivated, dependable, honest, respectful, flexible and punctual * Highly proficient WORKING CONDITIONS * Work in an office environment * License and some travel required * Work a standard work week, but may work evenings, weekends, and overtime hours to complete tasks of the project Job Type: Full-time Pay: $46,000.00-$50,000.00 per year Benefits: * Company pension * Dental care * Extended health care * Life insurance * On-site parking * Paid time off * RRSP match * Vision care Work Location: In person
