System Administrator

Our client is seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator to join their growing IT team in Byhalia, MS. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a fast-paced distribution and warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have experience administering Windows server infrastructure, Microsoft 365, virtualization technologies, and enterprise networking while providing Tier III technical support. This role is responsible for maintaining system reliability, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, supporting end users, and assisting with ongoing technology projects and security initiatives. Responsibilities Administer and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Azure Active Directory Support Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive Maintain VMware or Hyper-V virtual environments Configure and support enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions Monitor server performance, storage capacity, and system availability Administer user accounts, permissions, and security policies Support network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN connectivity Troubleshoot hardware, software, server, and network issues Deploy operating systems, software updates, and security patches Assist with cybersecurity initiatives including endpoint protection and vulnerability remediation Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures Support warehouse technologies including handheld scanners, mobile devices, and label printers when necessary Participate in after-hours maintenance and occasional on-call support Required Qualifications 3+ years of Systems Administration experience Strong experience with: Windows Server Active Directory Group Policy DNS/DHCP Microsoft 365 Administration VMware or Hyper-V Windows 10/11 TCP/IP Networking Experience with PowerShell scripting is highly preferred Understanding of backup and disaster recovery solutions Experience working in an enterprise or manufacturing/distribution environment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities
