Description

Role Overview The Technical Product Manager (TPM) – Historian is responsible for defining the product strategy, roadmap, and feature development for the organization’s time-series data historian platform used for grid operations, renewable plant monitoring, and power system analytics. This role will drive the evolution of the historian platform to support high-volume telemetry ingestion, real-time data storage, advanced analytics enablement, and integration with grid automation platforms. The TPM will act as a technical bridge between product engineering, platform architecture, and solutions engineering teams, ensuring that the historian platform supports large-scale grid and renewable deployments while aligning with the broader NeuralGRID™ digital platform architecture. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Roadmap • Define and maintain the product roadmap for the historian platform. • Identify capabilities required to support large-scale power system telemetry, grid analytics, and renewable asset monitoring. • Ensure the historian platform aligns with the broader grid digital platform architecture. • Drive roadmap priorities based on utility customer needs, renewable integration requirements, and grid analytics use cases Product Architecture & Technical Governance Work closely with product/platform architects to define scalable, high-performance time-series data architectures. Ensure the product supports: • high-frequency telemetry ingestion • large-scale time-series storage • low-latency query and analytics access • high availability and fault tolerance Guide architectural decisions involving: • distributed data storage • streaming data pipelines • edge-to-cloud data architectures • scalable query and analytics frameworks • cybersecurity and secure data access. Requirements Management • Define and maintain Product Requirement Specifications (PRS) for historian platform capabilities. • Translate customer and system requirements into clear engineering specifications. • Maintain requirements traceability across product design, development, and validation. • Manage product backlog and prioritize feature development aligned with the product roadmap. Typical functional areas include: • high-frequency telemetry storage • event and alarm history • time-series compression and retention • data aggregation and rollups • advanced query and visualization integration • data interfaces for analytics and AI platforms. Product Development & Solutions Engineering Coordination • Work closely with product development teams to guide implementation of historian platform capabilities. • Coordinate with solutions engineering teams to ensure the platform supports real-world grid and plant deployment architectures. • Provide technical guidance during feature design and architecture reviews. • Ensure alignment with broader grid digital platform standards and architecture principles. • Facilitate collaboration across: • product development • platform architecture • data engineering teams • solutions engineering • quality assurance teams Customer & Market Engagement • Support sales and solution teams in technical discussions with utilities, renewable developers, and grid operators. • Provide product expertise during opportunities involving grid monitoring, digital substations, renewable plant analytics, and asset performance management platforms. • Engage with customers and partners to understand evolving requirements for grid data platforms and operational analytics. • Contribute to positioning the historian platform as a core data infrastructure component for digital grid platforms. Required Experience • 10–12 years of experience in renewable plant automation or power systems control. • Experience working with time-series data systems, SCADA platforms, or industrial telemetry platforms • Experience managing software product development for large-scale data platforms or analytics systems Technical Expertise Experience in several of the following areas: Industrial Data Platforms • time-series data historians • industrial telemetry platforms • data acquisition systems • operational data platforms. Data Architecture • time-series databases • streaming data pipelines • distributed storage systems • high-volume telemetry ingestion • data compression and retention strategies Power System Integration • SCADA data integration • substation automation telemetry • renewable plant monitoring • grid analytics platforms Show more Show less
