Role Description The physician will conduct virtual consultations, take comprehensive medical histories, review symptoms, and develop evidence-based treatment plans aligned with local standards of care and available resources. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing diagnostic results, issuing electronic prescriptions where appropriate, documenting encounters in telehealth systems, and coordinating with local healthcare partners to ensure continuity of care. The role also involves providing second opinions, participating in case discussions with local clinicians, and contributing to clinical protocols that support high-quality, culturally sensitive care. The physician will collaborate with Teledocta’s clinical leadership and operations teams to improve workflows, maintain compliance with US and applicable international regulations, and support quality assurance and patient safety initiatives. Qualifications Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in the United States, with board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or a relevant specialty. Ok with telemedicine or virtual care delivery, including comfort with video consultations, electronic health records, and secure messaging platforms. Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, and evidence-based treatment skills, with the ability to adapt care plans to diverse resource settings. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including clear, compassionate patient communication and effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Cultural competence and sensitivity when working with patients and clinicians from diverse backgrounds across multiple African countries. Ability to work a flexible schedule to cover time zones relevant to African patient populations as needed. Experience working in underserved communities, or cross-border care environments is strongly preferred.
