Test Engineer

ACE Partners is supporting one of their Aviation partners with Test Engineering opportunity. The Test Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and certification of all aircraft. You will be responsible for the development and execution tests supporting product development, validation, and continuous improvement. This role combines deep hands-on technical work with ownership of test infrastructure, safety, configuration management, and planning activities. This role is a full-time direct role with our end client, and will operate fully onsite at their facility in Los Angeles, CA. Responsibilities Collaborate with stakeholders to develop test strategies, determine test configurations, plan, and execute test programs in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Develop, execute, and document varying, complex test procedures, setups, and reports Conduct test briefs and debriefs. Design, build, commission, and improve test fixtures and test equipment to achieve test objectives, enhance capability, and improve efficiency. Identify, analyze, troubleshoot and resolve complex test system issues across hardware, software, controls, and instrumentation. Process and analyze test data and collaborate with engineers to drive conclusions, recommendations, and next steps Ensure test configurations are prepared and correct including test equipment, software, and procedures. Conduct test operations planning, prioritization, utilization and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure on schedule completion. Serve as a technical resource and mentor to engineers and technicians. Manage test facilities and infrastructure. Provide detailed requirements and/or assist in developing specialized test instrumentation, required to achieve test objectives and goals in a timely manner Comply with department processes and standard operating procedures to ensure testing is accomplished with high levels of safety, effectiveness, consistency, and efficiency. Contribute insights and innovations to improve the product and organization. Lead and/or participate in test safety programs to ensure testing hazards are mitigated to reduce risk and to promote safe execution of tests. Maintain required records and conduct audits to verify compliance with processes and procedures. Required Qualifications Four-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited academic institution. 5+ years’ experience as an engineer routinely conducting physical tests of systems and/or structures. Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts and principles and demonstrated; experience applying those concepts to real world problems. Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly; apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment; organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases; and, determine the appropriate approach at the task level. Excellent academic record. Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others. Ability and willingness to work irregular hours and workdays. Proven self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with strong project management, organization and risk management skills. Proficient in common engineering test software tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW/TestStand. Desired Qualifications Substantial experience in aircraft development and certification test programs Significant experience in defining, designing and installing specialized test instrumentation in experimental aircraft.
