Test Engineer

Job Description A client of Insight Global is seeking a Part-Time Consulting Test Engineer to support product testing initiatives in a flexible, low-hour capacity. This position is ideal for an experienced or semi-retired engineer who is looking to stay engaged in hands-on technical work without committing to a full-time schedule. This individual will be responsible for executing lab-based product testing, documenting results, and providing technical guidance to improve product performance and reliability. The role offers significant flexibility and autonomy, with an emphasis on leveraging prior experience to drive meaningful impact. Key Responsibilities Execute standard laboratory testing procedures on company products Analyze test data and document findings in clear, concise technical reports Provide technical guidance and recommendations to improve product design and reliability Serve as a subject matter expert during internal discussions and product evaluations Operate independently in a lab environment with minimal oversight Required Qualifications Hands-on experience working in a testing or laboratory environment Background in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field) or equivalent hands-on experience Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret test data Ability to work autonomously and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision Strong written communication skills for reporting and documentation Nice to Have Qualifications Experience with product validation or verification testing Familiarity with lab equipment and test instrumentation Prior experience mentoring or advising engineering teams
