Web Application Developer

Location: Onsite - Philly PA Duration: Long term Job Summary We are seeking a Web Application Developer with strong experience in WordPress development to design, develop, and maintain a modern, secure, and accessible website. The ideal candidate will build scalable WordPress solutions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the website meets accessibility, usability, and long-term maintainability standards. The role includes website architecture, custom theme and plugin development, front-end functionality, performance optimization, maintenance, and content migration support. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites using best practices. Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins. Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable code using: PHP HTML CSS JavaScript Configure and customize WordPress functionality while minimizing long-term maintenance. Collaborate with UX/UI designers and content teams to implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces. Develop websites that meet WCAG AA Accessibility Standards. Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness. Implement website features including: Search functionality File sharing Google Analytics integration Rotating homepage banners Responsive/mobile support Troubleshoot bugs and resolve front-end and back-end issues. Perform ongoing website maintenance, plugin updates, security monitoring, and performance optimization. Build reusable, testable, and efficient code. Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 3+ years of experience in: Systems Analysis Web Application Development Programming Software Design Strong hands-on experience with: WordPress PHP HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript Experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins. Strong understanding of: Responsive Web Design Accessibility (WCAG AA) Web Security Performance Optimization Website Scalability Experience with translation/localization frameworks. Familiarity with software testing and debugging. Knowledge of software design and architectural patterns. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in Agile development environments. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Self-motivated with strong organizational skills. Experience working with cross-functional teams including designers and content managers.
