Job Summary: We are seeking passionate and dedicated Transition to Adulthood Mentors to empower youth as they navigate the journey from adolescence to independent adulthood. In this vital role, you will serve as a positive role model, providing personalized guidance, support, and encouragement to help mentees develop essential life skills, employment and education opportunities, housing support, foster independence, and achieve their personal goals. This career position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young adults while gaining valuable experience in supporting individuals with diverse needs.General Duties:Build trusting relationships with mentees by offering consistent support, encouragement, and active listening.Assist mentees in developing daily living skills such as budgeting, life skills, employment, education, transportation, and community engagement.Support communication efforts by utilizing and promoting effective communication methods.Provide guidance on educational and employment opportunities aligned with each mentee's interests and abilities.Help coordinate access to resources related to various services, housing, healthcare, wellness and individual needs.Promote inclusion by encouraging participation in social activities, community events, and extracurricular pursuits.Document progress and challenges through detailed reports to ensure tailored support plans are maintained and updated.Skills:Experience working with youth in roles that require patience, empathy, and adaptability.Knowledge of education principles and familiarity with the unique needs of youth transitioning into adulthood.Ability to communicate effectively using various methods, bilingualism would be an asset.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire positive change.Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes independence.valid drivers licenseJoin us in shaping brighter futures for young adults!
