About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack WordPress Developer to join our team in supporting a major national laboratory. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining web applications with a focus on WordPress platforms. The ideal candidate will analyze user requirements, develop innovative software solutions, and implement best practices in DevOps and continuous deployment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure web applications that meet the evolving needs of our client. The position offers flexibility for remote work or telecommuting, with a preference for candidates located near Albuquerque, New Mexico. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years of directly relevant experience. Alternatively, 20 years of experience in lieu of a degree. Must be a U.S. citizen. Experience working in an Agile environment, preferably Scrum. Proven expertise in full-stack web development, including front-end and back-end technologies. Hands-on experience with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal. Strong skills in developing WordPress themes, plugins, and Gutenberg components. Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages like PHP, C#, C++, and Java. Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js. Knowledge of configuration management tools and Git version control strategies. Experience designing and working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and CSS pre-processors like Sass or Less. Experience working with databases including SQL, MySQL, or Oracle. Knowledge of scripting languages including PHP, Bash, Python, and JavaScript. Ability to perform thorough code assessments and debugging to ensure quality. Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary teams. Understanding of software testing methodologies and implementation. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deliver within scope and schedule constraints. Responsibilities Analyze user needs and develop comprehensive software solutions aligned with project requirements. Design, develop, and maintain WordPress themes, plugins, and front-end components to enhance website functionality and user experience. Implement and optimize automated deployment processes, ensuring seamless updates and releases. Streamline and mature DevOps pipelines, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and reliability. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to incorporate innovative solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders and team members to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver high-quality software products. Develop and maintain backend systems using object-oriented programming languages, ensuring security and scalability. Work with cloud environments such as AWS or Azure to deploy and manage applications. Manage database integration and optimize queries for performance and security. Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure adherence to quality standards. Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and provide technical insights during project execution.
