About The Role We are seeking a dedicated WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will take ownership of the technical direction of various projects, focusing on building custom themes and functionalities from scratch using core WordPress capabilities. Your primary responsibility will be transforming design mockups into fully responsive, high-performance websites that meet client specifications. You will also be tasked with maintaining and enhancing existing client sites, some of which may require troubleshooting, performance optimization, and feature upgrades. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced agency environment. You will collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and other developers to ensure seamless workflows from design to deployment. Your work will involve writing clean, efficient code, resolving technical issues promptly, and implementing custom solutions that enhance user experience and site functionality. Whether performing quick content updates or developing complex eCommerce integrations, you approach each task with professionalism and a problem-solving mindset. Qualifications Minimum of 3+ years experience developing custom WordPress themes from scratch. Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3. Experience with Gutenberg block development. Strong knowledge of Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for custom content management. Hands-on experience with WooCommerce development and customization. Familiarity with WordPress REST API and third-party API integrations. Ability to convert Figma designs into fully responsive, semantic, and accessible code. Understanding of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards. Experience with version control systems, particularly Git. Knowledge of Core Web Vitals and techniques for performance optimization. A portfolio demonstrating responsive, custom-coded websites (excluding page builder work). Preferred qualifications include Shopify theme development with Liquid, experience with build tools such as Vite, Webpack, or Gulp, understanding of headless WordPress architectures, and a college degree in a related field. Responsibilities Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins from the ground up, ensuring they are clean, efficient, and maintainable. Transform static design mockups into fully responsive websites optimized for performance and accessibility. Implement WooCommerce solutions, including customizations and integrations with third-party services. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across multiple client sites, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Collaborate with designers and project managers to translate visual concepts into functional websites. Optimize websites for speed, SEO, and user experience, adhering to best practices and industry standards. Maintain version control and documentation for all development work. Stay updated with the latest web development trends, tools, and technologies, integrating them into ongoing projects. Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and technical planning sessions to continuously improve workflows and standards. Support clients with content updates and minor feature enhancements as needed.
