Senior Backend Engineer Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid ? 2?3 days onsite) Experience: 7+ Years Required Skills * Strong backend development experience with TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS * Experience with MongoDB Atlas, schema design, JSON Schema validation, and Atlas CLI * Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures using AWS MSK (Kafka) and Amazon EventBridge * API-first development using REST and AsyncAPI * Authentication using OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) * AWS services including ECS, Lambda, MSK, EventBridge, and S3 * Strong knowledge of Git, branching strategies, pull requests, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions or similar) * Experience building production-ready applications with logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting * Proficient in using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) with the ability to review, validate, and improve AI-generated code * Strong communication and documentation skills with experience writing clear technical specifications Pay: $100,000.00-$140,000.00 per year Application question(s): * Do you have expreience in TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS A) Yes B) No * Have you used AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar in your development workflow?
