Embedded Software Engineer

Senior Embedded Software Engineer | Austin, TX | Up to $220,000 Join one of the best-funded stealth startups in the photonics and defence space, developing next-generation embedded systems that enable autonomous platforms to operate reliably in the world's most demanding environments. You'll work as part of a highly technical engineering team, designing low-latency embedded software that interfaces with advanced laser and sensing technologies. This is a rare opportunity to shape technology from an early stage while working on products with real-world impact. What you'll be doing Develop real-time embedded software for advanced sensing systems Optimise low-latency, deterministic system performance Work closely with FPGA, hardware and systems engineers Solve complex timing and integration challenges Support products from prototype through to deployment We're looking for engineers with experience in: Embedded C/C++ and/or Rust RTOS development Sensor-connected embedded systems FPGA-based hardware integration Deterministic timing and low-latency systems Autonomous systems, robotics or navigation technologies The company is based in Austin, TX. Local candidates are preferred, although we're happy to consider engineers elsewhere in the US who can travel to Austin regularly.
