The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and improving an AWS-hosted infrastructure EC2s - Ubuntu & Amazon Linux, NGINX, PHP, RDS - MySQL, CloudWatch, and Systems Manager. This role focuses on server reliability, patch compliance, application uptime, observability, deployment support, infrastructure troubleshooting, and operational security. Core Technology Stack ● Amazon Linux & Ubuntu EC ● NGINX/Apace ● PHP / PHP-FPM / Laravel ● RDS for MSQL ● Cloudwatch ● New Relic APM and infrastructure monitoring ● AWS Systems Manager/Patch Manager ● API Gateway, WAF, Cloudfront Key Responsibilities ● Monitor Ubuntu-based and Amazon EC2 instances supporting NGINX/PHP applications. ● Manage NGINX & Apache virtual hosts, reverse proxy configuration, and access/error logs congestion. ● Manage PHP runtime configuration, PHP-FPM pools, extensions, worker limits, memory limits, timeouts and service health. ● Troubleshoot application, web server, and OS-level issues affecting uptime or performance. ● Monitor EC2 CPU, memory, disk, network, and process health using CloudWatch ad New Relic. ● Configure CloudWatch alarms, dashboards, log groups, and alerting for infrastructure and application issues. ● Configure and maintain New Relic APM (or similar) for PHP application monitoring, transaction tracing, error tracking, and performance visibility. ● Manage Amazon RDS for MySQL operational health, including connectivity, storage, CPU, memory, slow queries, backups, and maintenance windows. ● Support database performance troubleshooting in coordination with developers. ● Configure Patch Manager patch baselines, patch groups, maintenance windows, scan schedules, and installation schedules. ● Track and remediate compliance issue across EC2 fleet. ● Maintain secure access controls using IAM roles, security groups, least-privilege permissions, and controlled administrative access. ● Support deployment processes and rollbacks ● Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis for outages, degraded performance, failed jobs, and infrastructure alerts. Required Skills ● Strong Linux administration experience, preferably Ubuntu. ● Hands-on experience managing EC2 instances/ALB/ASG ● Experience with AWS Patch Manager for patch scanning, patch installation, and compliance reporting is a must ● Hands-on experience with NGINX and PHP-FPM. ● Working knowledge of PHP application hosting ad runtime troubleshooting. ● Experience with Amazon RDS for MySQL. ● Experience creating and managing CloudWatch alarms, dashboards, and logs. ● Experience with New Relic APM and infrastructure monitoring. ● Experience managing IAM roles Preferred Skills ● Experience supporting Laravel or similar PHP frameworks. ● Experience with deployment automation and CI/CD pipelines. ● Experience with Redis, queues,cron jobs, or background workers. ● Experience with CloudFront, Rote 53, and AWS Certificate Manager ● Experience with Terraform, Cloud Formation, or other infrastructure-as-code tools. ● Experience supporting audit, compliance, and vulnerability remediation workflows. ● Fluency in Spanish Expected Deliverables ● Patch compliance reports ● CloudWatch dashboards and alarms ● Incident reports with root cause analysis and remediation ● New Relic application and infrastructure dashboards ● RDS monitoring Show more Show less
