About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled WordPress Developer to join our dynamic team in Alhambra, CA, for a 12+ month project. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in WordPress platform development, customization, and optimization, with a strong background in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and implementing new or modified WordPress applications, ensuring they meet high standards of performance, security, and usability. The developer will work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver solutions that enhance our clients' digital presence and operational efficiency. Leadership experience is essential, as the role requires guiding junior team members and overseeing project components to ensure timely delivery and quality standards are met. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design, and programming, with at least three (3) years in a lead capacity. A bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or Engineering field is required; however, additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Demonstrated expertise in WordPress platform development, including custom theme and plugin creation, is essential. Candidates should have a solid understanding of cross-browser compatibility, responsive design, and WordPress multisite configurations. Experience with WordPress REST API, SEO practices, website migration, and performance optimization is highly preferred. Strong communication skills, the ability to establish cooperative working relationships, and the capacity to prepare clear and effective reports are also required. Responsibilities Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites, themes, and plugins to meet client specifications and project requirements. - Lead the design and implementation of WordPress multisite network configurations, ensuring scalability and security. - Migrate websites from other platforms to WordPress and transfer sites between hosting providers, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. - Optimize website performance through caching, code refinement, and database tuning to improve load times and user experience. - Implement SEO best practices to enhance website visibility and search engine rankings. - Convert mockups and design prototypes into fully functional WordPress pages, ensuring responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility. - Collaborate with designers, project managers, and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables. - Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to resolve issues promptly. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers, fostering a collaborative team environment. - Stay updated with the latest WordPress developments, security practices, and web technologies to continuously improve project quality.
