Apply Now! Perl is the primary language in our extensive code base. You'll innovate new features and maintain existing functionality. As a Perl Developer at BeQuick, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining our software platform. You will work closely with our other developers, management, and account managers to create robust and scalable features in our software platform. Skills Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). Knowledge of other programming languages such as Ruby on Rails Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments. Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience Experience Proven experience as a Perl Developer, with a strong portfolio of past projects. Proficiency in Perl programming language, including Perl modules and frameworks. Familiarity with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) Experience with MySQL Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Knowledge of software development best practices and coding standards. Strong experience integrating 3rd party API for external services, payment processors, etc. Responsibilities Perl Development: Develop, enhance, and maintain Perl-based software applications, ensuring high performance and reliability. Code Optimization: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Perl code, and optimize existing codebase for improved performance. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks in Perl applications. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other developers and account support, to deliver high-quality software solutions. Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and best practices. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for software applications and scripts. Performance Tuning: Identify and implement performance improvements and optimizations for existing Perl code.‍ Schedule: The ability to work 9:00 - 5:00 EST or close to it and, the ability to respond to occasional emergency problems. ‍ We’re here for you Reach out to discuss the opportunity.
