DevOps Engineer

3-month Contract-to-Hire Location: Remote (EST/CST) Pay: $50/hr ( compensation can vary depending on experience) Most Important Responsibilities Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the build/release infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience as an administrator with JFrog suite of tools including artifactory and Xray. Provide guidance and apply DevOps/DevSecOps practices to streamline product delivery and support reliable operation of products. Collaborate with Architects and Operations to design pipelines using on-prem cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, EKS, serverless, and/or other technologies. Suggest architecture improvements and recommend process improvements. Troubleshoot and problem-solve across the DevSecOps platform with cross-functional teams, spanning platforms and application domains. Automate everything possible – software builds, quality assurance tests, monitoring, security scans, deployments. What you can bring to the table to impact this role, team, and organization: Experience with JFrog suite of tools including artifactory and xray. Experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability position. Experience creating and managing CI/CD pipelines at an enterprise scale using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CI/CD, or GitHub Actions. Experience working with Release Management processes and software build/deployment tools (Maven, NPM, GitHub Actions, QuickBuild, Jenkins/JBoss/IIS). Experience with container orchestration (Helm/Kubernetes/Docker/Mesos). Experience with scripting languages – PowerShell, Bash, and Groovy would be highly valued, along with general knowledge of Batch and higher-level languages such as C# and Java. Experience with source control managers and their technologies, such as Git and GitHub, Azure DevOps, and TFVS, along with awareness of others like GitHub, Bitbucket, etc. Experience integrating applications via API calls and troubleshooting integration points. Database queries, scripting, and tooling experience (DB2/Oracle/SQL Server). Working knowledge of Windows IIS and Red Hat Linux JBoss server environments and software development. Preferred Skills: Experience with multiple roles for a well-rounded perspective of DevOps (Engineer, Test, Administrator). Experience with configuration manager (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, etc.). Experience with monitoring (Splunk/Nagios/Dynatrace/Prometheus). Experience with a universal binary repository manager (JFrog Artifactory/Sonatype Nexus). Experience with integrated/automated unit testing (Junit/NUnit).
