Our Mission You call. You wait. You call again. In every other part of your life, you book in seconds. In healthcare, you're blocked. We're here to give power to the patient. For nearly 20 years, we've built the leading healthcare marketplace - helping tens of millions of people find and book the care they need. Now, we're going further: building our infrastructure beyond Zocdoc's marketplace to power access to care wherever patients search, from provider websites and insurance directories to search engines, AI platforms, and more. Healthcare still lacks something every other major consumer industry takes for granted: a seamless way to go from seeking to getting . We don't want to own the front door to care; there isn't one. We want to make sure all of those doors open when patients are knocking. Fixing healthcare starts with fixing access to it. And we're still just getting started. Your Impact to the Mission Zocdoc's most important asset is our people. As a Principal Technical Program Manager for Practice Solutions, you will own and drive the most complex, cross-functional technical programs across the business unit, the initiatives that span multiple engineering teams and product domains and that no single team can deliver alone. Practice Solutions powers how healthcare practices run their day to day across every patient access channel: phone, web, marketplace, and partner syndication. That includes Zo, our AI phone assistant, along with our provider directory and booking platform, intake and pre-appointment workflows, calendar and scheduling experiences, and the services that keep availability accurate across channels. You'll operate at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Design, Analytics, and go-to-market leadership to deliver scalable, highly available, multi-tenant SaaS capabilities. You'll bring structure to ambiguity, drive sequencing across teams, surface architectural and operational risk early, and keep the trains running on time, all while raising the bar for how program execution happens across the entire business unit. This is a highly visible role with significant autonomy and influence. You'll enjoy this role if you are… Inspired by the opportunity to positively impact the healthcare experience for millions of patients and providers A platform thinker who instinctively looks beyond individual features to understand how systems connect, scale, and evolve over time Energized by building structure in ambiguous, high-complexity environments where multiple teams, products, and priorities intersect Comfortable operating at both 30,000 feet and in the architectural details, able to reason about distributed systems, reliability tradeoffs, and multi-tenant SaaS constraints Unafraid to drive movement and accountability at every level of the organization, regardless of title or tenure Calm and decisive in high-stakes situations, especially when sequencing work across teams with shared platform dependencies A strong influencer who can align engineering leaders, product leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders around shared outcomes even when ownership boundaries are unclear A believer that diverse and inclusive teams and cultures are non-negotiable Your day to day is… Organizing and driving the business unit's planning cadence, coordinating inputs and stakeholders across engineering and product and keeping the cycle on track so strategy turns into a clear, committed, sequenced roadmap Leading large, multi-quarter platform initiatives that span the Practice Solutions product scope, keeping each part on schedule and the whole program moving Translating high-level business and product goals into structured program plans with clear sequencing, milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes Building the reporting and transparency that give leadership a clear, honest view of status, dependencies, and risk Partnering closely with senior engineering leaders to anticipate architectural and operational risks before they surface in production Digging into technical issues at the seams between teams, triaging, framing the problem clearly, and pulling the right architects and engineers together to solve it Surfacing tradeoffs between speed, scope, reliability, and technical debt, and facilitating clear, well-reasoned decisions at the right level Clarifying ownership boundaries and reducing cross-team friction where systems, incentives, or customer journeys overlap Establishing and refining lightweight mechanisms that improve transparency, accountability, and long-term platform health Communicating program status, risks, and key decisions clearly to executive stakeholders and business unit leadership You'll be successful in this role if you have… A strong bias to action and an ownership mentality 8+ years in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or a similar technical leadership role A track record delivering large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in a product-led SaaS environment A strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architectures (AWS or equivalent), and event-driven systems Demonstrated ability to reason about architectural tradeoffs without owning implementation, and enough technical depth to hold your own in a room full of senior engineers Experience driving programs that span multiple engineering teams with shared platform dependencies The confidence to drive accountability and momentum across all levels of an organization without relying on formal authority Excellent communication skills, including clear written status and risk framing for both engineers and executives A Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience Experience in healthcare or another regulated, multi-tenant domain is a plus Humility. You believe in treating all people with dignity and respect, regardless of title or tenure, and you approach tough conversations with empathy Benefits: Flexible, hybrid work environment at our convenient Soho location Unlimited Vacation 100% paid employee health benefit options (including medical, dental, and vision) Commuter Benefits 401(k) with employer funded match Corporate wellness program with Wellhub Sabbatical leave (for employees with 5+ years of service) Competitive paid parental leave and fertility/family planning reimbursement Cell phone reimbursement Catered lunch everyday along with beverages and snacks Employee Resource Groups and ZocClubs to promote shared community and belonging Zocdoc is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. About the Role Fivetran + dbt Labs is building data pipelines to power the modern data stack for thousands of companies. We're looking for a Senior Staff Systems Engineer, Data and Integrations to join our Systems Engineering team and set the technical direction for the data that runs Fivetran's business. In this role, you will own the data architecture behind our marketing, sales, billing, and product operations: the canonical data models, the contracts between systems, and the pipelines and transformations that move data reliably between them. You will lead our largest and most consequential data initiatives, such as system migrations, org consolidations, and re-platforming of core integrations, from design through validation and cutover. This position sits at the crossroads of data engineering, data modeling, and business process. You will partner closely with our Systems, Analytics, and Engineering teams, as well as Marketing, Revenue Operations, Accounting, Product Operations, and other business partner teams, and you will mentor the engineers who build within the standards you set. This is a full-time position based out of our Oakland, California office. Technologies You'll Use Our core systems are Salesforce, Netsuite, Coupa, Workday, and Zendesk, with BigQuery as our data warehouse. Our current integration stack includes Celigo and Fivetran itself. You should be an expert in SQL and strong in a general purpose programming language such as Python or TypeScript, and comfortable evaluating and adopting new tools when necessary. A data engineering background is required, with expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT development, data quality testing, and data validation at scale. Experience with dbt or a similar transformation framework, and with API-based and event-driven integration patterns, is preferred. Help us bring established data engineering practices to internal business systems, and define what those practices should be here. What You'll Do Data Architecture and Standards Own the canonical data models for Fivetran's marketing, sales, billing, and product operations integrations, and define how business concepts map to data across our core systems. Define team-wide standards for data modeling, data quality, testing, governance, and documentation, and drive their adoption across Systems Engineering and partner teams. Contribute to the design of integration architecture, establishing guidance for when to use batch, real-time, and event-driven data movement. Delivery of Complex Initiatives Lead the design and execution of our most complex data initiatives, including bulk migrations, system consolidations, and re-implementation of core integrations, from target-state design through validation, cutover, and stabilization. Build, review, and ship the SQL and Python transformations and pipelines behind these initiatives, setting the bar for code quality on the team. Design the validation and reconciliation approach for migrations and pipeline changes, and sign off with stakeholders that record counts, values, and business rules reconcile. Reliability and Observability Design the monitoring, alerting, and data quality framework that gives end-to-end visibility into data freshness and accuracy across systems, and define the KPIs used to measure integration and data health. Lead root cause analysis on the most complex cross-system data issues, and drive the systemic fixes that prevent recurrence.
