About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the team Anthropic's Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team is the connective tissue that holds the company accountable to its security commitments. We translate regulatory, customer, and voluntary obligations into controls that teams act on, and give leadership a bird's-eye view of how well we're meeting them. We're building toward a fundamentally different kind of GRC: one that directs Claude, with the right humans in the loop, to challenge and evidence the performance of controls continuously rather than through periodic audits. Within Security GRC, Compliance and Audit Programs (CAP) runs the integrated audit across our frameworks and maintains the Common Control Framework the program hangs off. This role sits in Compliance & Audit Programs and works one regime family, US public sector, from requirements through authorization and ongoing compliance, working alongside the public sector engineering pods rather than downstream of them. About the role You'll help drive the compliance programs that keep Anthropic's US government authorizations current: federal civilian (FedRAMP, including FedRAMP 20x for Claude Enterprise), Department of War (DoD impact levels, CMMC, NIST SP 800-171), and state and local (StateRAMP, TX-RAMP and agency requirements). You'll own the recurring cycles those authorizations run on (continuous monitoring, POA&M, annual assessments, significant changes), help build new authorizations as we add them, and keep every frontier model's authorizations current. You'll turn government requirements into specific, testable requirements that engineering teams build against, review the evidence that comes back, and say so when a launch is not ready for a government boundary. You'll map US government requirements onto our Common Control Framework so the public sector view and the integrated audit view of the same control stay one framework. Building with Claude is a normal part of the job: mapping, evidence collection and reporting, with you deciding where human judgment stays in the loop. This is an individual contributor role, working closely with a peer on US public sector compliance, for someone who works well independently, writes clearly, and gets satisfaction from a government authorization that holds up as the product changes underneath it. Key responsibilities Run the recurring compliance cycles for our US government authorizations (continuous monitoring, POA&M, annual assessments, SSP updates, significant changes and incident notifications), starting with C4G on Palantir FedStart and the NIST SP 800-171 assessment with Schellman Co-own FedRAMP 20x work for Claude Enterprise, and help build new authorizations (first-party FedRAMP High, DoW impact levels, StateRAMP and TX-RAMP) with requirements and evidence work Support model authorizations in GovCloud and Vertex for every model launch, as the GRC member of the Inference and model delivery pod Translate government obligations into partner team requirements, for example vulnerability SLAs in our internal vulnerability reporting platform, and review the evidence Answer public sector customer and deal questions (what a boundary allows, CUI, IRS Publication 1075, CJIS, ITAR), and handle questionnaires and RFIs until they move to Customer Trust Map US government requirements onto the Common Control Framework with the Controls Assurance Lead and keep one source of truth for status Build with Claude: automate mapping, evidence collection and reporting, and verify machine-drafted language before it becomes the record Minimum qualifications Several years in security compliance or IT audit with hands-on US government compliance for a cloud service (FedRAMP, DoD impact levels, CMMC or NIST SP 800-171, or StateRAMP), including the ongoing compliance cycle after authorization Working command of the NIST SP 800-53 Moderate baseline and the mechanics of authorization: boundary definition, control implementation statements, assessment, continuous monitoring, POA&M and significant change Experience writing requirements for engineering teams from a control baseline and reviewing the evidence that came back Working knowledge of how a GovCloud or Vertex style government region differs from commercial, and what changes when a model, feature or region is added to an authorized boundary Enough technical fluency to read a runbook, configuration or pipeline definition and judge whether it enforces the written control Clear writing, because implementation statements and status reports are what assessors, engineers and leadership work from Ability to get partner teams to prioritize and close compliance work without authority over them Preferred qualifications Have taken a service through FedRAMP High or DoD IL4 or IL5, or supported a service on classified networks Have worked on a FedRAMP 20x pilot or built machine-readable evidence or reporting for an assessor Have applied LLMs to compliance work such as control mapping, evidence testing or continuous evidence collection Hold or are eligible for a US security clearance Experience with state and local requirements such as StateRAMP, TX-RAMP, IRS Publication 1075 or CJIS You don't need to Have done everything on this list or worked every regime. The scarce combination is running a government authorization on its recurring cycle plus the judgment to tell whether a control actually works Write production code. The bar is fluency sufficient to read, query and challenge Hold every certification. CISSP, CISA, CGRC or similar are welcome and not required Have prior AI industry experience Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis. About the team Secure Frameworks is the team in Anthropic's Security Engineering org that builds shared security libraries and frameworks the rest of the company builds on. We collaborate closely with teams and leaders across Anthropic to own critical security foundations, including workload identity and authorization, cryptographic frameworks, and the centralized access proxy that secures traffic to internal applications. Our mission is to make the secure thing easy and the easy thing secure by helping Anthropic engineers get secure behaviour by default and preventing entire classes of vulnerabilities through careful design. We own what we ship, help customers adopt better security practices and at times we work embedded directly in research, infrastructure or product teams. About the role You will design, build and run security foundations used across Anthropic's fleet, from threat model through production, on-call and adoption. Much of the work is greenfield: our infrastructure is growing quickly and the timelines are compressed, so you will help define the architecture rather than inherit it. Depending on your strengths you will focus on one or two of the areas below and contribute across the rest. Build critical security foundations including cryptographic frameworks, mTLS infrastructure, secure serialization, and authorization systems, designed to prevent entire classes of vulnerabilities Partner with product, research, infrastructure, and other security teams to ensure frameworks integrate smoothly with lower-layer security controls Scope, design and build security services and libraries end-to-end, maintain them in production, and drive through ambiguous technical problems with minimal oversight Build and operate the zero-trust access gateway that fronts Anthropic's internal services Design and roll out authorization frameworks so services enforce least privilege consistently instead of each inventing its own access controls Own cryptographic frameworks and libraries Mentor engineers, contribute to hiring, and grow security engineering culture across Anthropic Minimum qualifications 8+ years of software engineering experience building security-relevant systems in production, including leading complex initiatives independently Strong programming skills in Go, Rust or Python Deep understanding of authentication and authorization systems: OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, JWTs, service-to-service auth, policy-based access control Hands-on experience with PKI, X.509, mTLS and workload identity Working knowledge of applied cryptography: choosing and composing primitives correctly, key management, and the ways libraries fail in practice Experience shipping and operating high-reliability services on Kubernetes across cloud and on-prem environments, including being on call for them A track record of bringing clarity and ownership to ambiguous technical problems and driving them to resolution across teams A strong sense of developer experience Clear communication across all levels of the organization Passion for AI safety and the role security engineering plays in building trustworthy AI systems Preferred qualifications Built security frameworks or libraries adopted across an engineering organization, and done the work to drive that adoption Built or operated a zero-trust / BeyondCorp-style access gateway or identity-aware proxy Migrated a fleet to mTLS at scale, including certificate issuance and staged enforcement Maintained or contributed to open-source cryptographic libraries Designed authorization systems using policy languages or relationship-based models Familiarity with ML infrastructure (training, inference serving) The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $32,000 — $485,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. About the role Frontier AI is on track to be among the most consequential and most adversarially-targeted technology in the world. The capability curve is steep, the adversaries who want these systems are extremely well-resourced, and the security bar this will eventually require is well beyond where the industry operates today. Incremental hardening alone is not going to close that gap, so we need breakthroughs and a group of people to go find them. Security Labs is that team. We run a portfolio of high-risk, high-expected-value security projects: the work that seems impractical until someone optimistic and stubborn enough actually tries it. Projects run on the order of weeks rather than quarters, and each one is either handed off to the Anthropic team that will own it in production or wound down with a writeup of what we learned. We expect a meaningful fraction of our bets not to land. This team is intentionally scrappy and ambitious. We're intentionally iterating fast on high-risk research bets and we expect a meaningful fraction not to land. If a 30% project success rate sounds uncomfortable, or uncharted and chaotic territory isn't both frightening and exciting, this probably isn't the right fit. There are other places in Anthropic Security doing important work with more structure, less risk, and more certain paths to positive outcomes. The questions we're trying to answer include: Can our core research workflows survive extreme isolation? Can we replace trust with cryptographic guarantees? Can the models themselves become our most effective security control? What would it actually take to defend against a tier-1 state adversary, and how much of that can we build now? Who we're looking for. We're hiring generalists with rare depth. You're a strong software engineer as a baseline, and on top of that you've gone deep in at least one area most engineers don't get near: firmware or hardware security, applied cryptography, OS / kernel / hypervisor internals, formal methods, reverse engineering, or high-assurance and cross-domain systems. You've built things under your own direction, you're comfortable jumping layers when the problem demands it, and you'd rather take a swing at something that might not work than ship the safe incremental thing. You think the trajectory of AI matters a great deal, you're not comfortable with how the security side of it is going by default, and you'd rather be on the inside building the answer than watching from outside. Current Project Areas The portfolio changes as we learn. The kinds of bets currently in flight or queued: Standing up a prototype high-assurance research cluster: running real Anthropic training and research workloads under extreme isolation and physical security controls, and finding out exactly where productivity breaks and what we'd need to invent to get it back Provable inference: cryptographic verification (zero-knowledge proofs, attestation chains) that a given output came from a specific model running specific code, replacing "trust us" with math Build hypervisor-isolated microVM workload isolation across the fleet Compiling an ML kernel through a formally verified pipeline where every lowering step carries a machine-checked proof of equivalence, making compilation-layer sabotage mathematically detectable Regenerating clusters: automation that spins up a purpose-built cell, runs a workload, and tears the whole thing down on a TTL measured in hours, so attacker persistence has an expiry date Using Claude itself to drive security work end to end: threat modeling new compute platforms, rewriting critical services to zero external dependencies, running the test equipment that validates what hardware datasheets claim Part of your job is deciding what comes next. We hire people we trust to pick good bets, and project selection is owned by the engineers doing the work. Key responsibilities Own Security Labs projects end to end. You'll scope the bet, build the prototype, run it against real workloads, and bring it to either a hand-off or a documented exit Stand up novel security infrastructure fast (isolated clusters, attestation chains, hypervisor and runtime work, verification tooling) optimizing for what we learn rather than for permanence Find the receiving team early, bring them along while you build, and hand them something they actually want to own Work embedded with research and infrastructure teams (Pretraining, RL, Inference, Compute) to test whether their workflows survive what you're proposing, and document precisely where they don't Turn experimental results into short writeups that shape Anthropic's long-term security architecture, and into costed contingency plans we could execute on short notice Help pick the next round of bets and influence the industry to get better along the way Minimum qualifications Genuinely care about where AI is heading and want to work on the security problems that determine whether it goes well. This is the most important thing on this list Have real depth in at least one area most software engineers don't touch (e.g. firmware or hardware security, applied cryptography, OS / kernel / hypervisor internals, formal methods and verification, reverse engineering and exploit development, or high-assurance / cross-domain systems) Have built and shipped things under your own direction. Maybe you founded a company or research group, maintained an open-source project other people depend on, or shipped research that changed how people in your field work. We weight this far more than where you've worked or for how long Have a track record of choosing the problem yourself and seeing it through, rather than only executing a plan someone else handed you Are comfortable jumping between domains and layers of the stack when the problem calls for it, and have actually done so Have run prototypes or experiments where the goal was answering a hard question rather than shipping a permanent system, including ones that didn't pan out Write clearly enough to turn weeks of work into a couple of pages someone can act on Change your mind when the evidence says to, and are fine being the least-expert person in a room full of specialists Care about defense. Plenty of folks here come from offense and that background is valuable, but what you actually want to spend your time on now is making systems hold up Are a strong programmer (Python plus at least one of Rust, Go, or C/C++) and can stand up real infrastructure without that being the interesting part of your week Preferred qualifications Experience inside airgapped or high-side environments (classified networks, cross-domain solutions, ICS/SCADA, financial trading infrastructure) and the operational realities of working in them A background in offensive security, red teaming, or vulnerability research, with calibrated intuitions for which threats actually matter Familiarity with ML infrastructure (training pipelines, distributed schedulers, inference serving, accelerator hardware) sufficient for grounded conversations with researchers about what their workloads actually need A history of working in environments built around rapid iteration rather than rigid change control: startups, applied research groups, independent consulting, small security shops The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $320,000 — $485,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. About the role Anthropic is seeking a Senior Manager, M&A Finance Integration to run the finance function's role in each transaction, from LOI through Day 1 readiness and post-close execution, and to own the program management of Anthropic's growing legal entity footprint. This is a build-and-run opportunity. Reporting to the Director, M&A Finance Integration, you will be the day-to-day operator of the M&A Finance Integration program: you will scope and drive the finance integration plan for each deal, coordinate finance workstreams alongside Corporate Development, Legal, and People, and be the connective tissue between deal teams and the functions that execute. You will also own the end-to-end legal entity lifecycle (setup, migration, and wind-down) for acquired entities and newly formed subsidiaries, and turn what we learn from every deal and legal entity set up into a maintained playbook and template library. The ideal candidate has operated in a similar function at a high-growth technology company, brings enough accounting fluency to know when a closing spreadsheet or entity plan looks wrong, and thrives on building rigorous, repeatable processes while deals are live. Key responsibilities Deal Integration Planning & Execution Scope and own the finance integration plan for each transaction across every phase, from LOI and due diligence through signing, sign-to-close, and Day 90, spanning finance functions Tailor the plan to the integration model (full integration vs. standalone subsidiary) and define each function's baseline activities and standalone-specific deltas Ensure every function is engaged at the right phase, with clear owners, dependencies, and escalation paths Run the integration operating rhythm: workstream check-ins, issue logs, risk registers, RACI matrices, decision logs, and status reporting to finance leadership Negotiate deliverables and trade-offs directly with functional leads; escalate to the Director with a recommendation when priorities conflict Day 1 Readiness & Post-Close Execution Drive Finance Day 1 readiness: bank account control and signers, payroll cutover, AP/AR continuity, ERP entity, cost-center and project-code setup, chart-of-accounts mapping, and expense policy communication Run the Day 1 checklist and 30/60/90-day follow-through, ensuring acquired entities are onboarded without disruption to the close cycle Coordinate the closing spreadsheet, net working capital mechanics, and post-close true-up with Corporate Development, Legal and Technical Accounting Serve as a primary finance point of contact for the target's finance team and Corporate Development's integration lead during transition Scope, track, and manage external advisor engagements and unblock issues as they arise Stakeholder Management & Communication Act as a credible counterpart to Corporate Development, finance functional leads, and target finance leadership on integration substance Communicate integration and entity status to leadership through clear dashboards and written briefings Mentor team members and contractors as the function grows Handle confidential deal information with discipline Legal Entity Lifecycle Program Management Build and run the end-to-end entity setup process: decision documentation, incorporation, tax registrations, banking, ERP entity creation, functional-currency assessment, payroll or employer-of-record bridge, and statutory / compliance calendar onboarding, with a named owner for each step across US and international entities Own the entity wind-down process, including customer and vendor off-boarding, final payroll and employee transfers, account closure, intercompany settlement, and final statutory filings, in partnership with Legal, Tax, and the involved finance functions Design and maintain a single entity tracker with per-entity, per-workstream implications and status, aligned with adjacent entity programs (e.g., infrastructure and special-purpose entities) so they share one backbone Playbook, Templates & Infrastructure Build and own the Legal Entity Playbook: a repeatable, end-to-end framework covering entity formation, migration, and wind-down for acquired entities and newly formed subsidiaries in the US and internationally Own and maintain sections of the modular M&A Finance Integration Playbook: per-function deliverables by phase, standard operating procedures, and the template library Lead post-deal retrospectives and drive the resulting changes into the playbook and templates Identify and implement tooling and automation, including AI-assisted solutions, for recurring program work such as status synthesis, tracker updates, escalations and draft communications Minimum qualifications Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of at least two finance integration projects or entity set up projects, from planning through post-close execution, including project plan ownership and executive reporting Working accounting fluency across the areas your stakeholders own: the close calendar, chart of accounts, intercompany, statutory reporting, purchase accounting fundamentals, and the finance implications of common deal structures (asset vs. stock, acquihire vs. strategic, full integration vs. standalone) Strong program-management capability: comfortable scoping ambiguous work, owning multiple parallel workstreams, and managing to milestones without extensive oversight Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) in an acquisition and migration context Cross-functional credibility with Legal, Tax, People, Corporate Development, and Finance sub-functions, and the ability to drive outcomes across competing timelines and risk tolerances Comfort operating under deal-environment time pressure and confidentiality, with sound judgment when processes are being defined in real time Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex operational issues into clear, decision-ready briefings Preferred qualifications 10+ years in finance, accounting, or finance operations, with at least 3 years running cross-functional programs at a high-growth technology company, with a focus in M&A integration or legal entity programs Have built or significantly contributed to a finance integration playbook, template library, or integration management office infrastructure from scratch Bring international entity experience: new-jurisdiction setup, statutory audit and local GAAP obligations, employer-of-record bridges, transfer pricing and intercompany agreements Have worked with standalone-subsidiary integration models, consolidation bridges, and equity-method investments Be an active user of AI tools in their own workflow and excited to push program management toward automation Hold a CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CA qualification Be genuinely excited about AI safety and aligned with Anthropic's mission to build About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. Responsibilities: Serve as the security policy partner for AI agent governance, authoring the policies and standards for how agents are built, deployed, operated Define review and approval criteria when an agent may interact with sensitive or regulated data, and which actions require human approval as it relates to compliance frameworks Serve as the GRC reviewer within existing engineering approval workflows Define data governance requirements for agents, including least-privilege access, access reviews, and handling of regulated and sensitive data Monitor agent behavior over time and adapt governance requirements in partnership with cross-functional security, research and engineering teams Map agent security and data controls to AI governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 42001, EU AI Act), strengthening Anthropic's certification efforts ensuring agent security is auditable Assess and document agent-related security and compliance risks, driving them to resolution with engineering owners Own the policy for agent-related risk acceptances and exceptions, including approval authority, duration and re-review You may be a good fit if you: Have 8+ years in security governance, risk, and compliance, including ownership of security policies and control standards at a technology company Have owned or meaningfully supported efforts to compartmentalize sensitive data, PII, or intellectual property, and understand how identity and access mechanisms implement or undermine protection boundaries Think about non-human identities as a distinct risk and control category, and can design least-privilege access and accountability controls for systems acting on a person's behalf Can reason from a threat model to a control and explain the tradeoff to both an engineer and an auditor Have defined risk-based review or approval criteria within engineering workflows and kept them effective under high change velocity Deliver clear, precise written work for both technical and non-technical audiences Thrive in ambiguous environments with no settled industry playbook, where you're expected to propose the standard rather than wait for one Are energized by being the security and risk authority who educates and influences outcomes rather than only advises Strong candidates may also: Understand the security properties of LLM agents, whether from an AI, developer-platform, or agent-tooling company, or through comparable experience Bring familiarity with AI governance frameworks alongside traditional security frameworks Have adapted controls from regulated or highly sensitive environments to an open, high-trust engineering culture Possess relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CCSP, ISO 27001 or ISO 42001 Lead Implementer/Auditor) Candidates need not have: Done everything on this list before. Very few people have governed AI agents at scale — we care more about how you reason about access, accountability, and blast radius than about a prior title. Deadline to apply: None. Applications will be received on a rolling basis. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. About the role The Security Risk team is responsible for how Anthropic identifies, prioritizes, and drives treatment of its most important security risks. We are rebuilding risk management to operate as an engineering function, using automation, quantitative risk and AI-native platforms to enable decision making. The risks we assess span Anthropic's full security landscape, so the team needs breadth across domains and the judgment to go deep wherever a decision demands it. Security Risk, in deep partnership with Security Engineering, helps define the security program and shapes how investment and treatment decisions get made. The conventional GRC playbook was not built for a company shipping frontier AI. You will help define what replaces it, with a direct line to CISO-level decisions. As a Security Risk Analyst you will take risk questions from leadership and partner teams and drive them to a decision. Sometimes that is a fast, structured qualitative assessment and other times it is a deep FAIR-based quantitative analysis. Either way you bring leadership a clear position, the tradeoffs, and honest uncertainty, and you defend it under challenge. In parallel, you will help turn quantitative risk into a product partner teams can leverage, and define the standards a growing risk function will run on. Key responsibilities Enable leadership and partner teams to make risk-informed decisions. Take ambiguous risk questions, drive them to a documented decision, and communicate the quantitative and qualitative tradeoffs clearly Lead quantitative analysis of the company's top security risk scenarios using FAIR, calibrated estimation, and simulation, working with the engineers who own the systems and presenting results in terms leadership can act on Partner with Security Engineering to assess threat scenarios and control effectiveness so security investment is right-sized to actual risk and remediation is sequenced where it buys down the most risk Frame escalations and risk treatment decisions with a clear recommendation, an honest statement of uncertainty, and re-evaluation triggers, and pressure test those decisions with risk owners Shape the analysis and narrative behind leadership risk reviews, and help define risk appetite and the risk metrics the organization should measure and why Use AI and automation to scale risk analysis, and own the calibration and quality review that keep the outputs trustworthy Turn one-off analyses into reusable methods, templates, and training so risk analysis becomes increasingly self service for partner teams, and raise the analytical quality of the risk register You may be a good fit if you Have owned security or technology risk analysis end to end, qualitative and quantitative, and can point to a decision your output changed, whether a funding call, a launch call, a remediation sequence, or a documented acceptance Have hands-on FAIR-style quantification experience, including scenario decomposition, calibrated estimation, and Monte Carlo simulation in Python, R, or spreadsheet tooling, briefed to decision makers Thrive in ambiguity. You frame a moving question into something analyzable, pick the depth that fits, and drive to a decision rather than a report Put defensible severity and likelihood on ambiguous problems, state uncertainty honestly, and change your position when the evidence changes Have enough technical security depth to decompose an attack path with security engineers and be credible in the room Can compress a complex risk position into one paragraph for the CISO, make the tradeoff explicit, and defend it under pointed questions Use Claude or other LLMs as daily working tools and review model output critically Are low ego and collaborative, build credibility through the work, and care about AI safety and the role security risk plays in it Strong candidates may also Have applied FAIR-CAM or another structured approach to control effectiveness and attack path modeling Have built or operated a cyber risk quantification program, or turned quantitative analysis into tooling, templates, or training that others ran Have helped define risk appetite or tolerance thresholds an organization actually used to make decisions Bring a background in security engineering, detection, threat intelligence, actuarial science, or decision science that grounds the numbers in real systems Are familiar with security risks specific to AI systems, such as goal or intent modification, and how they change traditional threat models The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. As a manager of Applied AI Engineers for Anthropic's Megas segment, you will lead a team of deeply technical engineers embedded with our largest and most strategic accounts. These companies are partner-customers: they are among our biggest revenue drivers and also some of our most important go-to-market distribution channels. Each one consumes Claude to transform its own business and distributes Claude through its platforms and marketplaces. Your team works hands-on with their product and engineering organizations as they build on Claude: co-designing complex technical solutions, advising on architecture, developing evaluation frameworks, and guiding them through the most advanced implementation patterns for LLMs. You will hire, coach, and grow this team while staying close enough to the technology to set a high bar for engineering judgment. Your engineers work in account-aligned pods alongside Applied AI Architects, and you'll partner closely with pod leads, Mega Sales, Partnerships, Product, and Research. You'll guide your team from technical discovery through production deployment, turn wins at one Mega into reference architectures and patterns that compound across the others, and channel Mega-driven requirements back into Anthropic's product and research roadmap, all while maintaining our high standards for safety and reliability. This is a fast-moving space at the frontier of what's possible with LLMs, and you'll help define how we scale technical impact across our most important relationships. Responsibilities Build, coach, and grow a team of Applied AI Engineers serving Mega accounts: hire strong technical builders, develop them through structured feedback and clear competency expectations, and create scalable onboarding for a customer-facing technical role. Staff engineers into account-aligned pods alongside Applied AI Architects, balancing deep account continuity with flexibility to move expertise where the segment needs it most. Set performance goals aligned with each Mega's technical account plan and the segment's consumption objectives, and establish the metrics, reporting cadence, and dashboards that keep pod leads and cross-functional stakeholders informed on team health and impact. Serve as a senior technical advisor to Mega product and engineering leaders as they deploy production Claude workloads: guiding architecture design, evaluation strategy, and advanced prompting, agentic, and implementation patterns from discovery through deployment. Lead hands-on co-build initiatives with Mega engineering teams, from prototypes and pilots to production deployments, in support of each account's joint roadmap with Anthropic. Help navigate the partner-customer duality: support both direct consumption and the distribution of Claude through Mega platforms and marketplaces, and exercise sound judgment about what we build together and share. Act as a technical escalation point for your team's accounts, and partner with pod leads and Mega Sales to sequence technical work for maximum customer value. Build shared assets across pods, including reference architectures, agentic patterns, and eval frameworks, so that what one pod learns benefits every Mega account. Collaborate with Product and Research to surface Mega-driven requirements with the right weight and context, advocating for high-impact product changes without becoming a feature-request pass-through. Champion scalable public and internal assets documenting the latest LLM prompting, evaluation, agentic, and architecture techniques; contribute thought leadership through talks, blog posts, and white papers. Maintain strong, current knowledge of LLM capabilities, implementation patterns, and the AI product development stack, and translate it into practical guidance for your team and customers. Travel to customer sites for workshops, executive technical sessions, implementation support, and relationship building, and represent Anthropic at conferences and speaking engagements. You may be a good fit if you have 6+ years of experience in technical roles such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Software Engineer, Solutions/Sales Engineer, or Technical Product Manager. 4+ years of experience operating in a formal leadership capacity, ideally with some tenure as a manager of managers/multiple teams. Former technical founders are also encouraged to apply. Demonstrated success hiring, coaching, and scaling customer-facing technical teams, ideally in a fast-moving or hypergrowth environment. Experience supporting large, named strategic accounts at a platform, infrastructure, or model company, ideally where the account was both a customer and a partner. Production experience with LLMs, including advanced prompt engineering, agent development and frameworks, evaluation frameworks, transcript analysis, MCP, and deployment at scale, with the technical depth to set engineering standards and review your team's work credibly. Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python or TypeScript and experience building production applications. A track record engaging senior technical stakeholders (CTOs, CPOs, and engineering leaders) and influencing technical architecture and partner product roadmaps. Experience working in or running mixed pre-sales and hands-on engineering teams (for example, SA + FDE or SE + delivery). The ability to navigate ambiguity and execute across domains with intellectual openness, finding simple solutions to complex problems. A high-cooperation mindset for cross-organizational collaboration across Sales, Partnerships, Product, and Research, balancing competing priorities with integrity. Exceptional communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders while maintaining a low ego and collaborative approach. Passion for advancing safe, beneficial AI systems through creative technical applications. Strong candidates may also have Background at a hyperscaler, foundation model lab, or large ISV in a strategic-accounts or alliances technical role. Experience with marketplace, embed/OEM, or co-sell motions. Prior forward-deployed engineering leadership. Experience leading technical teams through periods of rapid scale, balancing immediate execution with durable, long-term architectural and platform decisions. Experience coaching engineers from purely technical roles into customer-facing, advisory work. Executive briefing and public speaking presence. Deadline to apply None. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. About the Role As an engineer on this team, you'll sit at the intersection of IT and facilities. You'll build the power models, availability models, topology and load management requirements that operate more efficiently against our physical envelope. Your work will directly shape which sites we lease, what SLAs we sign, how far we oversubscribe, and where workloads are placed. What You'll Do Topology and load management. Own the power and cooling topology of our fleet as a living dataset, validate it and its telemetry against how the buildings really behave, and define how load management behaves under failure across chips and capacity providers, from requirements through commissioning and incident support. Reliability modeling. Build and audit availability models of data center electrical and mechanical systems, define Cloud availability zones and failure domains, from a single site to the whole fleet. Power modeling and load forecasting. Build models of power draw from chip to rack to facility, by workload and hardware generation, and use them to set capacity planning targets, design envelope, and load forecasting. Partner diligence. Work with data center developers, operators, cloud providers and chip vendors to drive design improvements and hold them to SLA-grade performance, with technical diligence on their architectures, reliability studies, rack power specifications and operator interfaces. What We're Looking For Deep knowledge of data center power distribution and cooling architectures, redundancy schemes, and how they interact with IT load profiles. Depth in at least one of: reliability engineering, power modeling and energy scheduling, or load management and controls (telemetry, IT/OT interfaces, load transfer and shedding systems). Familiarity with SCADA/BMS/EPMS, telemetry pipelines, and control systems. Experience with software that bridges IT and OT. Exposure to accelerator deployments and their power management interfaces, or to capacity overallocation in large compute fleets, strongly preferred. Ability to translate between infrastructure engineering, software teams, legal and commercial teams, and external partners. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Systems, Reliability Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in data center infrastructure, facility engineering, or reliability engineering Demonstrated experience with data center power distribution and cooling system architectures, and infrastructure failure mode management Demonstrated experience in at least one of the following: Building quantitative reliability or availability models (Monte Carlo, fault tree, reliability block diagram, or FMEA) Building power, energy or capacity models and forecasts from measured data Building, testing or operating software-based power management, load shedding, or control systems Track record of cross-functional collaboration across hardware, software, and facilities teams Preferred Qualifications Experience in more than one of the three focus areas above Experience with accelerator-class deployments, rack power architectures, and their power management interfaces Experience with integrated systems testing and commissioning (L4/L5), or writing sequences of operation Experience with SLA development, availability commitments, or service credit frameworks in leases or cloud contracts Experience with energy storage, microgrid integration, demand response, or behind-the-meter generation Exposure to ML or optimization techniques applied to infrastructure or energy systems The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. About the Role As an AV Engineer focused on Platform & Automation, you'll build and own the software layer of Anthropic's collaboration systems — the tools, integrations, and engineering practices that let a small AV team support a fast-growing global office portfolio. Our rooms, event spaces, and broadcast systems are increasingly managed through APIs and code: device management platforms, DSP and control systems, conferencing administration, ticketing, and paging. Your job is to turn that surface into reliable, team-owned tooling, and to bring software engineering discipline to how we build and maintain it. You can expect a lot of your time writing, shipping, and operating code — fleet health monitoring, automated room testing and ticketing, integrations between our AV platforms and IT systems, and the internal tools that AV Engineering, AV Operations, and Events rely on every day. You'll also help own the administration of the software platforms we already run, and set the standards for how the team version-controls, reviews, tests, releases, and maintains everything from DSP designs to firmware to internal services. Responsibilities Design, build, and ship internal tools and integrations that monitor, test, and manage AV and collaboration systems across every office Develop fleet health monitoring and automated room testing that catch failures before users report them and open actionable tickets automatically Build integrations across device and platform APIs — Q-SYS (including plugins and Lua control scripts), Logitech Sync, Google Meet hardware, digital signage; and IT systems such as Jira, Slack, PagerDuty, and Google Workspace Automate repetitive operational work: provisioning, configuration baselines, drift detection, certificate renewal, and asset data — with code others can read, test, and maintain Own administration and lifecycle of the software platforms behind the AV estate, including firmware and software release management with staged rollouts and rollback plans Operate internal tools as production services, with monitoring, alerting, service metrics, and runbooks, on team-owned repositories and service identities so nothing depends on one person Establish the team's engineering practices: source control, code review, testing, CI/CD, and release — and bring AV configuration under version control, with standards set for integrator deliverables and acceptance verified before changes land Enable AV Engineers, Operations Specialists, and Production staff to contribute safely through templates, guardrails, and review paths built for non-developers Partner with Security, IT Engineering, and Network on least-privilege API access, secrets management, and integration with enterprise standards Gather requirements from AV Operations, Events, and AV Engineering, prioritize the tooling roadmap by operational impact, and decide where to build, buy, or push a vendor to close a gap You May Be a Good Fit If You: Have 10+ years of experience across AV, collaboration, or IT systems engineering, including 4+ years writing, shipping, and maintaining production code that other people depend on Are fluent in at least one general-purpose language: Python, Lua, Go, TypeScript, or similar — and comfortable with shell scripting Practice engineering fundamentals by default: Git-based workflows, code review, automated testing, CI/CD, logging, and observability Understand how AV and collaboration systems work: DSP and control, conferencing platforms, room devices, signal flow, AV-over-IP — well enough to build reliable tools on top of them Have built integrations against REST APIs, webhooks, and vendor SDKs, and know how to handle auth, rate limits, pagination, retries, and partial failure Have owned a tool or service in production over time, not just written it, including fixing it when it broke and handing it off cleanly Have defined engineering practices for a team, especially one where most contributors aren't developers Turn operational pain into well-scoped tooling, and can say no to work that shouldn't be built Thrive in a fast-moving environment where standards are being written rather than inherited Strong Candidates May Also Have Experience With: Q-SYS Lua scripting and plugin development Logitech Sync and CollabOS, and Google Meet hardware administration through the Google Admin console and Admin SDK Google Workspace APIs, GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, Pub/Sub, Secret Manager), and Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code Jira, Slack, and PagerDuty APIs and automation Crestron, Extron, or other control system programming Dante, AES67, NDI, and network fundamentals for AV-over-IP, including multicast, VLANs, and QoS Building with LLMs — agentic automation, LLM-assisted internal tools, or MCP integrations Monitoring and alerting stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana, and containerized deployment Q-SYS Level 2, CTS, or equivalent demonstrated capability Role Specific Location Policy: This role will be based in our San Francisco or New York City office This role is expected to be in office 50% of the time Up to 4 weeks of domestic and international travel annually for platform rollouts, new-office readiness, and on-site testing Business-hours escalation coverage for the tools and platforms this role owns Deadline to apply: None.
