About Gusto At Gusto, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve. All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build Gusto should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy . AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process. About the Role: The Compensation Partner is a core member of Gusto's People team, supporting compensation programs that help us attract, retain, and reward top talent. This role is the operational engine of the compensation function: the person who makes sure our programs run accurately, on time, and consistently for every Gustie. Operating with a systems-first, AI-native mindset, the Compensation Partner uses automation and well-designed workflows to handle recurring analysis, audits, and reporting with speed and precision. This role partners closely with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and business leaders to ensure our compensation programs are grounded in market reality and aligned to our values. Success in this role is measured by the accuracy and timeliness of compensation data and deliverables, the reliability of the programs you support, and your growing ability to answer questions independently rather than escalating them. Gusto's compensation function, built on first-principles thinking, is at an inflection point — scaling from early foundations to a mature, high-trust operation. You'll have real ownership to shape how we design and deliver compensation as the company grows. Here's what you'll do day-to-day: Support the execution of Gusto's compensation programs and cycles, including merit, promotion, and equity refresh, handling data preparation, validation, tracking, and follow-through. Serve as a first point of contact for compensation questions from HRBPs, recruiters, and managers, resolving requests and escalating the ones that need extra attention. Manage annual compensation cycles (merit, equity refresh, benchmarking) from data collection through communication. Conduct job matching and market benchmarking using survey data (Radford/Aon, Mercer, Pave) and prepare recommendations on pay ranges and offer positioning for review. Model and prepare new hire, promotion, and internal transfer recommendations against approved bands and internal equity comparisons. Maintain compensation data integrity across Workday, Pave, and our compensation bands, running recurring audits and reconciling discrepancies before they reach downstream processes. Prepare recurring reports and dashboards on pay positioning, band utilization, and cycle progress, and produce ad hoc analysis for partners across People and Finance. Use AI tools and automation to take manual work out of recurring analysis, audits, and reporting, with sound judgment about when output needs to be validated. Support compliance with federal, state, and local pay regulations, including pay transparency postings, FLSA classification reviews, and annual survey submissions. Document and improve compensation processes so that the work is repeatable, auditable, and not dependent on any one person's memory. Here's what we're looking for: 3+ years of experience in Compensation, Total Rewards, People Operations, or a related analytical function - ideally in a high-growth technology environment. AI fluency: hands-on experience using AI tools to accelerate analysis, research, or documentation, paired with good instincts about when to trust and when to verify. Strong analytical foundation: advanced spreadsheet skills (Excel, Google Sheets) including lookups, pivots, and formula-driven models, and the ability to spot when a number looks wrong. Exceptional attention to detail and a track record of owning recurring, deadline-driven work without dropped threads. Exposure to compensation fundamentals such as salary bands, job leveling, market benchmarking, or offer modeling, or clear evidence of the analytical aptitude and curiosity to pick them up quickly. Comfort handling highly confidential information with discretion and consistency. Clear, concise written communication , with the ability to explain a number or a process simply to someone who does not work in compensation. Interest in compensation and employment law (FLSA, pay transparency, pay equity), with a drive to build real expertise over time. High integrity and intellectual curiosity ; someone who asks why a process works the way it does instead of just running it. Background in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field is preferred but not required. Our cash compensation amount for this role is between $87,660 - $108,114/year in Denver and between $106,385 - $131,208/year for New York/San Francisco. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above. Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale. Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas. When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees. Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Gusto. Gusto is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Gusto considers qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. We want to see our candidates perform to the best of their ability. We're committed to building a diverse team and inclusive culture and believe your potential should only be limited by how big you can dream. We make this a reality by empowering you with the tools, resources, and support you need to grow your career. Recruiting at Brex Recruiting is where every career at Brex begins. We're the first point of connection for future builders and leaders, helping candidates see what's possible. We partner with leaders across the company to find exceptional talent and build high-performing teams. We move quickly, think strategically, and take pride in creating a thoughtful, welcoming candidate experience from the very first contact. We don't just fill roles, we shape the culture at Brex, finding the next generation of builders and leaders. What you'll do As a Senior Sourcer II, you'll own sourcing strategy across multiple engineering teams and the orgs behind them, partnering directly with Directors and VPs to define what great looks like before a search opens. You'll set the talent mapping and market research approach for the orgs you support and win stakeholder buy-in. You'll also raise the bar past your own requisitions: honing the team's pitch, building engagement resources other sourcers adopt, closing gaps in how we source, and mentoring people growing into this work. This is a role for someone who has outgrown running excellent searches alone and wants their judgment to shape how an entire team searches. Where you'll work This role will be based in our Salt Lake City office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work! Responsibilities Own sourcing strategy for multiple teams and the orgs behind them, typically partnering with several Directors or VPs. Define and implement talent mapping and market research for the orgs you support, and secure stakeholder buy-in for the approach. Autonomously scope and land ambiguous projects across the team, identifying risks early and mitigating them before they surface. Own and evolve the team's pitch and build engagement resources other sourcers adopt. Coach hiring managers on what the ideal profile looks like for the next stage of their organization, and propose additional assessments or panelists where a loop has gaps. Use reporting to diagnose complex hiring problems and drive the resulting changes through. Define and modify interview processes to lift conversion or reduce time to fill. Continuously hone the team's pitch and create engagement resources other sourcers adopt. Mentor sourcers and enable others to mentor, acting as the go-to expert on the team. Requirements A track record owning sourcing across multiple teams or a whole org, not a set of individual requisitions. Experience partnering directly with Director- and VP-level stakeholders, including influencing what they search for rather than only executing it. Fluent enough in comp bands and candidate motivation to pre-qualify early and reset unrealistic expectations before a candidate enters a loop. Has changed how a team sources — a process, a tool, a pitch, a pipeline — and can show what moved as a result. Has mentored sourcers or recruiters, and can point to people who grew because of it. Deep technical market knowledge across engineering, data, product and AI, including where the talent actually sits. Fluent in modern sourcing and CRM tooling, and comfortable using data to argue for a change in direction. Bonus points Experience building a sourcing function, playbook, or onboarding path from scratch. Experience owning a team's sourcing metrics and reporting them to leadership. Experience sourcing for AI/ML, agentic AI, or other emerging technical domains. Experience sourcing across multiple geographies (e.g., US, Canada, LATAM). Experience contributing to employer branding, talent marketing, or community-building initiatives. Compensation The expected salary range for this role is $156,392 - $195,490. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package. Brex LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital One, N.A. This role is intended for current high school students graduating in 2027 or later. Who we are About Stripe Stripe is a technology company focused on improving the conditions for economic growth and prosperity. We build programmable financial infrastructure, rethinking from first principles how financial services should work, to make it easier and cheaper for any business to start and scale. More than 10 million businesses build on Stripe, spanning the economic frontier, from solo founders to established enterprises, united by a practical focus on growth. The most ambitious companies in the world use Stripe as core infrastructure to grow faster. They process trillions of dollars a year on Stripe, equivalent to around 1.6% of global GDP. While economic growth makes everyone better off, open markets also enable greater variety. When any business can easily serve a global customer base, the quality and diversity of products in the world increase, and craft and creativity are unleashed into the smallest niches. Our own growth is wholly contingent on the success of the businesses building on Stripe. We therefore invest back into our technology at an unusual rate. We make upgrades to our products every single day to deliver compounding gains to our customers. We maintain some of the most reliable APIs on the internet. We build entirely new pieces of financial infrastructure to enable new ideas. And our significant advances in risk and fraud infrastructure over many years are making the internet economy safer and more accessible. Though people at Stripe do not tend to take themselves seriously, Stripe is a fairly serious place: our customers are depending on us for their livelihoods. We admire ambition, intensity, curiosity, humility, and rigor. The most effective people become knowledgeable about many domains besides their own. Any company is an applied exercise in understanding some aspect of society or the market. In working with so many, especially the new and innovative ones, we think that Stripe is one of the very best places to learn about how the world works. What you'll do This is a small, selective internship for exceptional high school students and recent graduates whose technical work already stands out well beyond what we typically see at this stage. We are not looking for potential or credentials alone. We are looking for students who can show, through what they have built, researched, or contributed, that they are ready to do substantive engineering work with a Stripe team. You will spend 12 consecutive weeks between May and August working in person from Stripe's San Francisco or Seattle office on a scoped engineering project. You will own a problem end to end with support from your manager and teammates, contribute to Stripe's codebase, and learn how engineers build reliable systems used by millions of businesses. Recent Stripe intern projects include expanding Payments Foundation Model capabilities to improve generalized anomaly detection, building more approachable fraud controls, creating safer payouts, and developing user-facing solutions that prevent costly pricing mistakes and make merchant checkout setup easier. You will work alongside Stripe's collegiate interns and full-time employees. That means participating in the same team environment, learning how engineers at different stages approach technical decisions, and building relationships across the broader Stripe community. This is not a trainee or classroom-based program. You will receive support from your manager and teammates, but you will be expected to contribute to your team's work, learn quickly, communicate clearly, ask strong questions, and produce work that holds up under technical review. As with Stripe's collegiate internships, strong performance may lead to consideration for future opportunities at Stripe, including full-time employment for interns who meet the relevant eligibility and hiring requirements. Future opportunities are not guaranteed and will depend on individual performance and Stripe's hiring needs. Responsibilities Participate fully in the team you join, including team discussions, decisions, and the technical design process. Write, test, and document software intended for production use by Stripe teams and users. Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews and design discussions. Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional partners to seek and incorporate feedback. Learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and close work with your manager, mentor, teammates, and subject matter experts. Communicate the status of your work clearly, including progress, risks, open questions, and where you need help. Use current AI development tools thoughtfully while applying rigorous judgment to review, refine, test, and validate outputs. What We Look For We don't have a test score threshold. We look for people who have already started acting like the engineers and operators we most admire. Ambitious builder: Y ou are energized by building solutions without a clear precedent and working through difficult technical problems. You can point to technical work that shows unusual initiative, depth, or originality for someone at your stage. Rigorous thinker: You care about whether your work is correct, not just whether it runs. You test your assumptions, examine edge cases, and can explain the choices you made. Adaptable problem solver: You learn quickly, respond well to feedback, and keep making progress when the path is unclear. Collaborative teammate: You communicate clearly, treat others with kindness, and know when to work independently and when to ask for help. Minimum requirements Currently enrolled in high school, or graduating from high school before the internship begins. Available to work full-time and in person from Stripe's San Francisco or Seattle office for 12 consecutive weeks during a mutually agreed period between May and August 2027. We cannot accommodate remote participation, a shorter internship, or breaks within the 12-week period. Experience programming through independent projects, research, coursework, competitions, open source contributions, a startup, or another setting. We work mostly in Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, and Scala. We believe new programming languages can be learned when the fundamentals are strong. Evidence of exceptional technical achievement for your stage. This could include a product or system you built, a substantial open source contribution, original research, meaningful work at a startup, advanced competition performance, or another body of work that demonstrates comparable depth and ownership. Ability to explain your individual contribution to the work you submit, including the problem, technical decisions, tradeoffs, testing, feedback, and what you would improve. Experience working with others on a technical project and incorporating feedback from peers, mentors, teachers, users, or collaborators. Ability to learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and work with a mentor or subject matter expert. Clear written and verbal communication. Ability to meet the employment eligibility, minimum age, and documentation requirements for the role's location by the internship start date. Final language is subject to Legal review. Preferred qualifications One or more areas of deeper technical knowledge, such as frontend, backend, infrastructure, data, machine learning, security, or developer tools, balanced with strong general programming fundamentals. Experience writing high-quality pull requests, tests, technical documentation, or design notes. Familiarity navigating an unfamiliar codebase or contributing to a multi-person project. A record of sustained technical work over time, not only one-time awards or credentials. Curiosity about how businesses operate and how software can improve the conditions for economic growth. What to submit A resume or short summary of your technical experience. In that summary please include one or two examples of your strongest work, such as a repository, live product, technical paper, research abstract, competition submission, or project write-up. Private work may be described without sharing confidential material. For each example, a short explanation of the problem, what you personally contributed, the hardest technical decision, how you tested the work, and what you learned. Optional: High school transcript, standardized test scores. Please note that this is an hourly position with a pay rate of $60 per hour.
