Senior Security Engineer (Remote, EU/CET)

About Maze Maze is the user research platform that helps companies build the right products faster by making user insights available at the speed of product development. In most companies, research demand far exceeds supply. Time, cost, and lack of access to expertise hold teams back. In today's AI-powered world, anyone can build a product fast. The real challenge? Deeply understanding user needs and building the right product. That's where Maze comes in. We believe companies shouldn't have to choose between building fast and building right. Maze makes research accessible, intuitive, and fast so product teams can put user insights at the center of every decision. Our platform enables researchers, designers, and product managers to quickly recruit participants, run studies autonomously, and surface insights that actually drive product decisions. Our AI capabilities automate the busywork and add depth and direction to the insights themselves. That's why Maze was recently named the #1 user research platform in UX Tools' Design Tools Survey —and why we're scaling fast across industries like B2B SaaS, e-Commerce, Financial Services, Retail, and Automotive, supporting world class customers such as Uber, Amazon, Atlassian, Anthropic & more. Maze is a Series B company backed by top-tier investors (Felicis, Emergence & Amplify). We operate a global remote workforce driven by our core values . Senior Security Engineer Location: Remote , preference for Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain or Portugal. Key engineering and product teams are based in these locales. About the Role We're hiring a Senior Security Engineer to take the lead on security at Maze. You'll own two closely connected areas: The corporate IT foundation every Maze employee relies on The security controls that keep our cloud, code and SaaS environment secure and auditable Identity, devices and access sit right at the intersection of IT and security. This is an opportunity to own that space end to end. Your job is to automate the IT side so well that most of your time goes to corporate security engineering. You own the budget and tooling to automate the IT layer, and the helpdesk scope stays deliberately small, so the role stays an engineering role. You'll report to our Senior Manager, Platform Engineering and work closely with teams across Maze. As a Senior Security Engineer at Maze, you will: Own identity and SSO in Google Workspace, including groups, SCIM provisioning, MFA and access policies Run our macOS fleet through Iru, including enrolment, configuration, patching and compliance Automate joiner, mover and leaver flows from Rippling so new hires are fully provisioned on day one and leavers lose access within hours Own SaaS licensing and app provisioning, while keeping internal support lightweight through automation and self-service Own security controls across AWS, GitHub, Kubernetes and our SaaS environment, including role based access, IAM hygiene, cloud guardrails, network boundaries and secrets management Run vulnerability management end to end, taking findings from Intruder, Socket and pentests through remediation and verification with clear owners and SLAs Run regular access reviews and generate audit evidence through Vanta, making compliance thorough, timely and low effort Bring a security perspective to incidents and post-incident reviews, turning what we learn into stronger controls Use AI-assisted and agentic workflows to reduce manual work and investigate issues faster What you won't own Application code review and threat modelling, sales questionnaires, customer security calls or other customer-facing security work. These sit with our Senior Manager, Platform Engineering today and will move into the Infosec function as business needs grow. What we're looking for You have a strong software, infrastructure or security engineering background and are comfortable using code and infrastructure as code to automate repetitive work You've owned identity, MDM and joiner and leaver automation at a remote company and can speak to the impact your automation had You've secured a modern AWS or GCP environment and can explain the trade-offs behind your IAM decisions You've run vulnerability management or access reviews in an environment with external audits You have experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 controls and know how to turn a control into an automated check You care about the employee experience and are comfortable saying no when needed while providing context and a better path forward You're excited about AI-assisted development and actively use modern AI tools in your work Our stack Identity and people systems: Google Workspace, Rippling Devices: Iru (formerly Kandji), macOS Cloud and infrastructure: AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker Security and compliance: Vanta, Intruder, Socket, Datadog Security, Riot Network: Cloudflare Zero Trust CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Depot CI, Argo CD Observability: Datadog Collaboration: Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub, Zoom Application: TypeScript, Node.js, React You don't need experience with every technology in our stack. We care more about strong fundamentals, an engineering approach to both IT and security and excitement about making Maze secure by default as we scale. Inclusivity and Pay At Maze, we are dedicated to building an equitable, inclusive, and authentic workspace. Unique and diverse perspectives are welcomed, and continuous growth is encouraged. We believe that people are more than their resumes, so if your past experience looks different than the criteria listed, we'd still love to hear from you. We appreciate and celebrate non-traditional life routes and encourage you to apply should you connect with a job description or the Maze culture. Maze values transparency and it enables us to approach compensation equitably across the world. We are informed by data and regularly check our salary ranges (either United States or Rest of World) against other venture backed companies. Additionally, we are proud of our holistic and generous benefits offerings, included in every compensation package. Your salary is dependent upon many factors, including years of experience, expertise, etc. During your first interview, you can expect to have an open conversation with your recruiter regarding your compensation expectations. Why Maze is unique Early-stage startup: You will join an early-stage startup with less than 150 team members. This means you'll have the unique opportunity to directly impact success and help shape the future of Maze. Market disruption: We believe that the way companies build products is fundamentally broken and the user research market is ripe for disruption. For too long, companies have been forced to choose between rapid development without user insights or investing months into research before bringing products to market. But there's finally a groundswell building around a path forward that eliminates this compromise - and Maze is leading the charge. About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role Anthropic is seeking an experienced leader for our Treasury, Liquidity & Capital Planning team. In this foundational role, you will own the forward view of the company's cash and balance sheet as Anthropic manages one of the fastest-growing balance sheets in technology alongside some of the largest infrastructure commitments any company is making. You will report to the Head of Investments & Market Risk and work closely with FP&A, Accounts Payable, Collections, Controllership, Legal and Infrastructure Finance. This is a rare opportunity to build a liquidity and capital planning function from the ground up at a high-growth AI company. You bring a strong background across multiple pillars of Treasury and a track record of driving complex, cross-functional initiatives through to completion with limited direction and full accountability. You are proficient in using AI tools to drive automation and process optimization, and you will use Claude to build much of the tooling that makes Treasury faster and more precise. Key responsibilities Build, own and continuously improve a direct cash flow model and forecast by legal entity and currency, tied to bank data at the front end and to FP&A's operating plan, so the company sees liquidity needs well before decisions have to be made Establish a disciplined forecasting cadence across monthly, quarterly and annual cycles, with forecast-to-actual variance analysis built on bank transaction data  Partner with FP&A and Strategic Finance to support capital allocation decisions with scenario and sensitivity analysis and clear liquidity trade-offs Monitor and manage working capital drivers, including receivables, payables and DSO/DPO, to anticipate cash flow impacts and improve liquidity Prepare cash flow analyses and executive-level materials for the Treasurer, CFO and senior leadership, highlighting key drivers, risks and opportunities Partner with FP&A, Accounting, Tax and business teams to understand forecast movements, challenge assumptions and improve accuracy, while strengthening processes, reporting and controls so the framework scales Serve as back-up for the investments desk (in-house portfolio, money market funds, deposits and separately managed account instructions) and for the FX, commodities, rates and credit desk Minimum qualifications Have built and owned a direct cash flow model and forecast across multiple legal entities and currencies Can project a balance sheet, leverage and covenant metrics as comfortably as cash, and explain the trade-offs clearly to a CFO and other non-Treasury stakeholders Understand how a forecast turns into an investment ladder, a hedge program and a compliance test, not just a report Have stood up models, reporting and controls where none existed, and are comfortable being the whole team Work directly with data, including bank feeds, ERP cash flows and portfolio reports Understand money market funds, deposits, short-duration securities and basic hedging mechanics well enough to cover a trading desk Exercise strong judgment in ambiguous situations and build effective relationships across Finance, Legal and the business Preferred qualifications 10+ years of relevant experience in treasury or corporate finance Have led a cash flow forecasting or liquidity planning function inside a large corporate Treasury Have supported a revolving credit facility, debt issuance or rating agency process with forecasts and covenant models Have worked in Treasury through hypergrowth, large financings or an IPO Have used Claude or similar AI tools to automate Treasury workflows and reporting Are familiar with a treasury management system, Clearwater, planning tools or a data warehouse such as BigQuery Have executed trades under a Treasury policy, including direct securities, money market funds, deposits, and FX spot and forwards Hold a CFA, CTP or CPA Are excited by Anthropic's mission to build safe, transformative AI systems, and by Treasury work that directly supports it The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.  For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $230,000 — $300,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study:  A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship:  We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed.  Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit  anthropic.com/careers  directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. Staff + Sr. Software Engineer, Cloud Inference Launch Engineering
AnthropicNew York City, NY, San Francisco, CA, Seattle, WA (Hybrid)39 days ago
InternshipHybridPrincipal$320,000 - $320,000 / Year
pythonrustawsazuregcpkubernetes+14

About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role The Cloud Inference team scales and optimizes Claude to serve the massive audiences of developers and enterprise companies across AWS, GCP, Azure, and future cloud service providers (CSPs). We own the end-to-end product of Claude on each cloud platform, from API integration and intelligent request routing to inference execution, capacity management, and day-to-day operations. Within Cloud Inference, the model & inference launch team owns the validation pipeline for our inference server and load balancer on these platforms. We're responsible for every inference change — model launches, performance improvements, safeguard integrations — landing on cloud platforms with correctness, performance, and reliability intact. This is high-leverage infrastructure work: validation has to be fast and cheap enough to run on the same accelerators that serve customers, trustworthy enough to replace manual checks, and consistent enough that a change working on Anthropic first-party means it works everywhere. This directly determines how fast frontier models and features ship to every cloud platform, and how quickly performance wins reach production — reclaiming capacity at a time when compute is our scarcest resource. Key responsibilities Be on the critical path for frontier model launches, bringing up inference for new model architectures and shipping them to cloud platforms in lockstep with our first-party platform Work with the core inference team to bring new inference features (e.g. structured sampling, prompt caching, and more) to cloud platforms, owning the platform-specific integration that gets them to production Identify and dive deep on the gaps that make inference behave differently across first-party and CSPs — config drift, observability, deployment patterns, hard cross-platform bugs — and fix them at the source rather than building platform-specific workarounds Design, build, and own the CI/CD infrastructure for the inference server and load balancer across cloud platforms, with shadow traffic, performance baselines (throughput and latency), and correctness checks that catch regressions before production Drive down merge-to-production cycle time by making validation faster, more parallel, and cost-effective enough to run on the same constrained accelerator pool that serves customers, without trading away reliability  Analyze observability data across providers to identify performance bottlenecks, cost anomalies, and regressions, and drive remediation based on real-world production workloads Minimum qualifications Have a strong interest in LLM serving; prior inference or ML experience is not required  Have significant software engineering experience, with a strong background in high-performance, large-scale distributed systems serving millions of users Have a track record of building automation or test infrastructure that measurably improved release velocity or reliability Have experience building or operating services on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), with exposure to Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, or container orchestration Thrive in cross-functional collaboration with both internal teams and external partners Are a fast learner who can quickly ramp up on new technologies, hardware platforms, and provider ecosystems Are highly autonomous and take ownership of problems end-to-end, including work that falls outside your job description Preferred qualifications LLM inference optimization, batching, and caching strategies Capacity-constrained scheduling or shared-resource test infrastructure Solid understanding of multi-region deployments, request routing, load balancing, global traffic management Working with CSP partner teams to scale infrastructure across multiple platforms, navigating differences in networking, security, privacy, and managed service Proficiency in Python or Rust The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.  For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $320,000 — $485,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study:  A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
