Lead Product Manager
Constructor LabsRemote (Fully Remote)13 days ago
Full TimeFully RemoteLead
goagileprocurementcompliancecompliancedata privacy+9

About us Constructor Labs is the research arm of Constructor Knowledge, based at Campus Ring 1 in Bremen, Germany. Our work is organized around three units: Knowledge Labs, Cyber Labs and Science Labs. We apply computing, software and robotics research to make scientists, teachers and students more effective, working with institutional partners that include CERN, NUS, Carnegie Mellon and Fraunhofer. Constructor Practice is the hands-on practice platform within the Constructor Technology learning suite, alongside Learn, Assess, Proctor, Schedule and Groups. It spans an unusually broad portfolio: curriculum-aligned virtual science labs; the evidence-based intervention products Calcularis (numeracy and dyscalculia), Grafari/Orthograph (literacy and dyslexia); and browser-based Software & IT and Coding labs for technical training. Shared capabilities include cloud-based hands-on environments with no installation, automated assessment and grading, group assignments and instructor assistance, LMS integration, and learner analytics and dashboards. The product is in production across three distinct markets. Higher education and research, schools and public education authorities, and corporate and vocational training. The platform operates under GDPR, FERPA, COPPA and SOPIPA commitments. About the Role You will own Constructor Practice content portfolio of products (currently includes Practice: Science Labs and Practice: Schools Math and Literacy with future extension to other disciplines) end to end: strategy, roadmap, commercial performance and delivery. This is a lead product management position with full accountability for the product line rather than for a single feature area or squad. The scope is wider than a conventional PM role. You will sit in front of clients during presales, shape the go-to-market with sales and marketing, define the roadmap across a portfolio serving three different buyer types, and work with product owners and engineering to bring releases in on time and on budget. Where the product line needs something that has no owner, it is yours. Practice has an established customer base and a portfolio that has grown through acquisition and expansion into markets with little in common: a Swiss canton buying dyscalculia intervention for primary schools has almost nothing in common with Acronis training its partner ecosystem. Bringing coherence to that portfolio, deciding what to invest in, what to standardize and what to retire, is the central problem of this role. Reporting and scope Reports to: Head of SI and Edu, Constructor Labs. Level: Lead Product Manager. You will lead the product team including product owners, engineers and subject matter experts, with a view to building a larger product team as the line grows. Product surface: all Constructor Practice content products, namely Science Labs, Calcularis, Grafari/Orthograph, Software & IT and Coding, in cooperation with the shared platform layer covering assessment, analytics, LMS integration and deployment. Markets: higher education and research institutions, schools and public education authorities, and corporate and vocational training providers. Interfaces: engineering and product owners, presales and sales, marketing, customer success and support, Constructor Tech engineering and product teams, Nexademy content team, Constructor Labs research, and Constructor Labs Solutions as an integration channel. The role is both outward and inward facing. You are expected to be in client conversations and in sprint reviews in the same week, and to carry what you learn in one into the other. Duties & Responsibilities : Product strategy. Set the direction for Practice across its three markets: where to invest, where to standardize on shared platform capability, and where a module should be sustained rather than developed. Maintain a defensible view of the competitive position against virtual lab providers, intervention software and hands-on technical training platforms. Roadmap and prioritization. Own a published roadmap with a clear rationale for sequencing, balancing client commitments, platform debt, regulatory requirements and new capability. Say no in a way that holds up, and keep the roadmap current as commitments change. Discovery and requirements. Work directly with teachers, learning designers, lab administrators, IT staff and corporate training leads to establish what the product needs to do. Translate that into specifications, acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes rather than feature lists. Delivery with engineering. Work with product owners and development teams through planning, sprint reviews and release. Hold scope, schedule and budget together, escalate early when one of the three has to give, and make the trade-off explicit rather than absorbing it quietly. Presales support. Act as the product authority in qualified opportunities: demonstrations, solution design, technical objection handling, RFP and tender responses, security and compliance questionnaires. Judge which client-specific requests are viable and which are not. Go-to-market. Own positioning, messaging and the launch plan for each release and module, working with marketing and sales enablement. Produce the materials that let the sales team sell Practice without you in the room. Client relationships. Run a regular cadence with reference and strategic accounts, gather structured feedback, manage expectations on committed features and turn successful deployments into case studies and references. Pricing and commercials. Own the pricing and packaging model across modules and market segments, with input on licensing, bundling within the Constructor learning suite, and the commercial terms of custom work. Compliance and trust. Keep the product aligned with GDPR, FERPA, COPPA and SOPIPA obligations and with accessibility requirements, working with legal and security. Child-facing products in public education carry a higher bar, and meeting it is part of the roadmap. Performance measurement. Instrument the product, track adoption, engagement and learning outcomes, and use the evidence to decide what to build next and what to stop. Qualifications & Experience: Product ownership at scale. Five or more years in product management, including at least three owning a B2B SaaS product line with revenue accountability rather than a single feature area. Education or adjacent domain. Experience with EdTech, assessment, e-learning, corporate L&D tooling or another domain where the buyer, the administrator and the end user are three different people with different measures of success. Delivery discipline. A track record of shipping on committed dates and budgets with agile teams, working through product owners and engineering leads, and managing the scope conversations that make that possible. Commercial fluency. Comfort in front of clients and in presales, with the ability to run a demonstration, defend a roadmap position and contribute to pricing and packaging decisions. Technical credibility. Enough depth in cloud platforms, LMS integration standards such as LTI and SCORM, APIs and analytics to hold your own with engineering and with a client's IT team, without needing to write the code yourself. Evidence-based decisions. Fluency with product analytics and experimentation, and the judgement to distinguish a signal worth acting on from a loud customer. Portfolio judgement. Experience managing several products or modules at once, and a willingness to make and defend investment and retirement decisions. Languages. Business-fluent English. German is a bonus, given the Swiss, German and Austrian school and public-sector customer base. Communication. Written and verbal clarity with audiences ranging from a primary school teacher to a university CIO to a development team. Nice to have Experience with virtual labs, simulation environments or browser-based development and IT training environments. Background in special educational needs, learning intervention or evidence-based pedagogy, particularly dyscalculia or dyslexia support. Familiarity with public-sector education procurement in DACH, including cantonal and Länder-level buying. Experience with student data privacy regimes (GDPR in an education context, FERPA, COPPA, SOPIPA) and WCAG accessibility conformance. Prior work in a group structure where a product is sold both directly and through an integration or services channel. A background in teaching, instructional design or learning science. What we offer A product line with an established base , in production with universities, public education authorities and corporate academies across Europe and beyond. Genuine end-to-end ownership , from strategy and pricing through to release, without the role being split across a commercial owner and a delivery owner. Access to our researchers , including principal investigators and education methodologists from Constructor Labs, and the ability to route applied research questions into the Labs. Salary and annual bonus tied to the product line's commercial and delivery targets. The band is competitive for a lead product role in DACH or the UK and depends on location and experience. A distribution channel beyond direct sales , through Constructor Labs Solutions and the partner network. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow

About Flexport: At Flexport, we believe global trade can move the human race forward. That's why it's our mission to make global commerce so easy there will be more of it. We're shaping the future of a $10T industry with solutions powered by innovative technology and exceptional people. Today, companies of all sizes—from emerging brands to Fortune 500s—use Flexport technology to move more than $19B of merchandise across 112 countries a year. The recent global supply chain crisis has put Flexport center stage as we continue to play a pivotal role in how goods move around the world. We are proud to have the support of the best investors in the game who believe in our mission, solutions and people. Ready to tackle global challenges that impact business, society, and the environment? Come join us. Hundreds of engineers and thousands of freight operators around the world rely on Flexport's internal systems every single day to keep billions of dollars of freight moving. Keeping those systems — and the people who use them — secure is not a compliance checkbox. It's the core infrastructure for a company operating across 112 countries. The PSI (Platform, Security & Infrastructure) team is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to own the security of Flexport's corporate environment: endpoints, identity systems, internal networks, and the SaaS estate. This is a security engineering role, not an IT support role, and not a role where you write policies and hope for the best. You'll build, automate, and be on the ground when things get real. What You'll Do Endpoint & SaaS security Own and mature our endpoint security stack (EDR) across macOS and Windows fleets , writing device policy as code — configuration profiles, remediation scripts, and enforcement rules — with staged rollout and rollback built in. Own security configuration and monitoring for Flexport's critical SaaS applications (Google Workspace, Slack, and similar) through SSPM tooling, catching risky OAuth grants and configuration drift before they become incidents. Access management Drive Flexport's identity posture: SSO coverage, phishing-resistant MFA and passkey rollout, SCIM lifecycle automation, and least-privilege access across the SaaS and cloud estate. Lead Flexport's zero-trust journey — making sure the right people have the right access, with the right controls, verified continuously. Detection & response Build and tune detection rules in our SIEM , turning signal into actionable alerts, not noise. Lead incident response for security events: triage, contain, remediate, and write the retrospective. Vulnerability & risk management Run regular assessments of corporate endpoints and prioritize findings by real business risk. Manage vendor and third-party security reviews , working with procurement and legal to evaluate risk before it lands in our environment. Security enablement & leadership Partner with IT, Engineering, and People teams to embed security into the way we work without creating friction that drives people to workarounds. Develop and maintain runbooks, playbooks, and internal documentation that make the whole team more capable, and mentor engineers earlier in their career. Bring a point of view on how agentic AI tools and browser-based AI assistants change what corporate security needs to watch for . You Should Have Typically 5–8 years of experience in enterprise security, corporate IT security, or information security engineering — we care more about what you've built than the exact number. If you meet most of this, apply. Strong working knowledge of endpoint security tooling: DLP (Cyberhaven, Purview, Varonis, or similar) and EDR (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar). Practical SIEM experience , writing detection logic, triaging alerts, and reducing false positive noise. Experience leading or playing a significant role in security incident response. Working knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Nice to Have Experience with network security in a cloud-first environment (ZTNA, SASE, DNS filtering). Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform) for security configuration management. Familiarity with SCIM, OIDC, and fine-grained authorization at scale. Experience working in a high-growth, global technology company. Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar, for automating detection, response, and operational tasks. Exposure to privacy regulations relevant to a European and global context (GDPR, etc.). How We Work We come to the office 3 times a week to hang out, whiteboard, and ship together. We have the latest hardware and software, including frontier AI models on day one. We're agile, but not dogmatic. Teams decide how they work best. Why This Role Is Special Broad ownership: you're not a cog in a large security org — you own the corporate security posture end to end, from endpoints to observability to incident response. Real stakes: Flexport operates in 112 countries with a global workforce. Security here matters at a genuine scale. Build, don't just operate: we want to automate and engineer our way to a stronger posture, not just run playbooks. You're part of PSI: the platform, security, and infrastructure teams work hand in hand at Flexport. We value engineering quality and treat security as infrastructure, not just policy. We sponsor visas for the right candidate. What's in it for you An opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing companies, where you'll have the chance to create a global impact while being part of a thriving multinational environment. Daily catered lunches incl. vegetarian options, breakfast, snacks and soft drinks available in our office on a daily basis. Commute expenses: Flexport will cover home-office commuting costs for employees living outside of Amsterdam. 25 working days as vacation days based on full-time employment. Health insurance: Flexport offers a collective health insurance plan including a basic package and any available additional packages. Your monthly premium is fully paid by Flexport. A defined pension contribution scheme. Equity program: every team member becomes a shareholder, aligning our success with yours. As a private company in a multi-trillion dollar industry, you have a direct stake in our collective growth and success. Employee Assistance Program through Aetna Resources for Living: Flexport provides an employer-sponsored program at no cost to you and your household members. Parental leave benefit: Flexport is here to support you and your family during one of the most important times in life — the birth of a child. Our parental leave program allows both mothers and partners to take time off from work for pregnancy, childbirth, and to bond with your new child. #LI-onsite #LI-YK1 Commitment to Equal Opportunity At Flexport, our ability to fulfill our mission of making global commerce easy and accessible relies on having a diverse, dedicated and engaged workforce. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, health status, marital and family status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Global Data Privacy Notice for Job Candidates and Applicants Depending on your location, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may regulate the way we manage the data of job applicants. All security disciplines work under the umbrella of the combined PSI (Platform, Security & Infrastructure) team: we build the paved path and tooling that hundreds of engineers around the world rely on every day to ship. This is not a compliance or certification role. You won't be measured on audit portfolios. You'll be measured on the guardrails you build and whether engineering teams reach for them by default. A misconfigured IAM boundary here doesn't just degrade a dashboard: it can stall a customs filing or strand a container. Flexport also runs a genuinely heterogeneous estate: hundreds of services, carrier and customs integrations, and infrastructure spanning three continents, which makes multi-account architecture and cross-border data handling real problems rather than exam questions. What You'll Do Architecture & guardrails Design and review cloud security architecture for AWS and Kubernetes: account structure, network segmentation, workload identity, and secure-by-default patterns for new services. Fix the Terraform module, not the finding — drive remediation-at-source so misconfigurations get closed at the pattern level, not one ticket at a time. Kubernetes & workload security Harden our Kubernetes platform: pod security, service mesh and network policy, secrets management, and supply-chain controls (image provenance and signing). Partner with platform engineers so new services inherit secure defaults instead of requesting them after the fact. Policy & automation Build and maintain policy-as-code and IaC scanning that block risky patterns in CI. Write real code — Go or Python, shipped through the same CI/CD the rest of engineering uses. Partnership Act as the local technical voice on cloud and infrastructure security for our Amsterdam engineering teams, and partner closely with the US-based cloud security team. You Should Have Typically 5–8 years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or platform security engineering, including hands-on AWS and Kubernetes work — we care more about what you've built than the exact number. If you meet most of this, apply. Proficiency in at least one compiled language (Go or similar) and one scripting language (Python or similar). Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar) and a GitOps delivery model — changes shipped through code review, not tickets and manual steps. Working knowledge of IAM and least-privilege design across cloud and container environments. Nice to Have Experience with cloud security posture tooling (Wiz, Orca, Prisma, or similar) as a signal source rather than an end in itself. Software supply-chain security experience (SLSA, artifact signing, provenance). Familiarity with EU data-residency and cross-border data-handling considerations. Multi-cloud experience. How We Work In Amsterdam we come to the office 3 times a week to hang out, whiteboard, and ship together. We stay closely aligned with our coworkers on other continents. We have the latest hardware and software, including frontier AI models on day one. We're agile, but not dogmatic. Teams decide how they work best. Why This Role Is Special You'll inherit a real, established estate with legacy to pave over — not a blank slate. If you want the harder, more honest version of greenfield work, this is it. This is a builder's cloud security role in a market where the comparable senior openings skew toward certification and audit work. You won't be asked to own a PCI portfolio here. You're part of PSI: security is treated as infrastructure with real engineering quality bars, not a policy function. By submitting your application, you are agreeing to our use and processing of your data as required. Please see our Privacy Notice available at www.flexport.com/privacy for additional information. About CuspAI CuspAI is the frontier AI company on a mission to solve the breakthrough materials needed to power human progress. While nature took billions of years to perfect molecules, we are harnessing AI to unlock trillion-dollar materials breakthroughs in months, not millennia. Our founding team is the most cited in the world, comprised of world-class researchers in AI, chemistry and engineering. We are working on some of the hardest and most important challenges including energy, clean water, the future of compute, and carbon capture, and this is just the start of what our 'search engine' for next-generation materials will unlock. We invite you to be part of a diverse, innovative team at the intersection of AI and materials science, working to create impactful partnerships that drive innovation, scalability, and industry collaboration. This work matters. Your work matters. We're on the cusp of the on-demand materials era. Join us. The Role Due to rapid growth in our partner lab network, we are seeking a Scientific Product Manager to join our Product team and bring partner labs and their experimental workflows onto the CuspAI platform. Your impact This is an exciting opportunity to join the product team at CuspAI, working closely with materials scientists, ML researchers and platform engineers to make AI-driven experimentation work in real laboratories. As one of a small team of Scientific Product Managers, you will take ownership of a set of partner labs and the lab integration work around them, translating what each lab actually needs into requirements our engineers and ML researchers can build against. Alongside the product work, you will spend real time with your partners' teams and their experimental data. What You Will Do Product Requirements & Roadmap Shape and prioritise the roadmap for how experimental data, protocols and campaigns get into the CuspAI platform, together with your fellow Scientific Product Managers, the engineering lead and the wider product team. Write requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria that engineers can build from, covering experiment types, instrument integrations and LIMS/ELN connections, and work with the data team on the underlying data models and provenance. Contribute to decisions on what we build, what we integrate, and what we leave to partners' existing systems. Partner Lab Onboarding Lead technical discovery with the partner labs you take on: map their workflows, instruments, sample logic and data systems, and pin down the true experimental unit and the parameters that matter. Own onboarding for your partner labs from scoping to the first closed-loop campaign, and turn each onboarding into reusable patterns and documentation shared across the team so the next one is faster. Act as the main scientific counterpart for the partner labs you look after, and represent the product in partner meetings, workshops and conferences. Closed-Loop Campaigns Work with ML researchers to design optimisation campaigns (e.g. Bayesian optimisation) that respect real experimental constraints such as throughput, noise and failed samples. Define how platform-driven campaigns are validated, including benchmarks against manual or legacy workflows, success metrics and the evidence we bring to partners. Must Have Skills and Qualifications: PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering or a related experimental discipline, or equivalent experience in scientific research. Hands-on experience with high-throughput or automated experimentation (e.g. robotic synthesis, combinatorial libraries, automated characterisation, or self-driving / closed-loop labs) in industry, a national lab or research institute, or academia. Proven track record of translating scientific or process needs into requirements for engineers, software teams or automation vendors, and of validating that what was built works in the lab. Firsthand understanding of how experimental data is produced and where it fails: which metadata and provenance matter, instrument quirks, data quality issues, and what makes a dataset usable for machine learning. Depth in at least one materials domain (e.g. semiconductors and thin films including photovoltaics, catalysis and electrochemistry, energy materials including batteries, polymers and formulations, or separations and surfaces) and the curiosity to work across others. Working knowledge of Python for data handling and analysis; comfortable working with APIs and data schemas. Strong communicator and a proven collaborator, comfortable working directly with external partner labs as well as multidisciplinary science, ML, product and engineering teams. Bonus Points (But Not Critical): Direct experience with closed-loop optimisation in an automated setting, such as Bayesian optimisation, active learning or design of experiments. Experience with research data management, LIMS/ELN systems, FAIR data or metadata schemas, and familiarity with lab data standards (e.g. SiLA 2, AnIML, Allotrope). Instrument integration experience, including vendor software, data formats, and scheduling or orchestration. Product or project management experience, such as roadmaps, user research, external research collaborations or vendor relationships. We are equally open to strong experimental scientists making their first move into product. Experience working in industry at a materials, chemicals, energy or deep-tech company, or closely with industry at a research institution or national lab. Experience coordinating work across multiple labs, sites or countries. Additional Considerations This role could be based in any of our locations with the expectation of being in the office three days per week. Additionally, there may be regular travel required to partner labs and other locations for collaboration and project work. What We Offer A competitive salary: We value and reward impact and growth Equity in CuspAI: You have a stake in the success of the company Time off to stay fresh: 28 days holiday (DE, NL, UK) or 21 days holiday (JP, SG, US), in addition to local public holidays 'Gold Standard' parental leave: 26 weeks (primary caregiver) and 12 weeks (secondary caregiver) at full pay - we look after you and your family while we work on the most important materials discovery problems together Professional development budget: We invest in your career development so you can stay up to date with the latest industry knowledge or add to your skills to increase impact and growth Solve meaningful problems: See how your work has a direct impact on advancing materials science and solving sustainability and climate-related problems through the creation and application of bleeding-edge SOTA technology and revolutionary techniques True interdisciplinary teamwork: Be part of a deeply collaborative environment bridging AI research, computational chemistry, and experimental science - work with world-class researchers and engineers who enjoy sharing knowledge and supporting each other Join us in shaping the future of materials with AI. Together, we can create groundbreaking solutions for a more sustainable world. CuspAI is an equal opportunities employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace . We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding), veteran status, or any other basis protected by applicable law. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and value the unique perspectives and contributions that diversity brings to our team. Please let us know if you require any specific adjustments during or after the interview process. We will do everything we can within reason to accommodate.
