A commitment to software craft , with a pride in writing readable, well-designed, and thoroughly tested code. Strong collaborative leadership skills , with a track record of guiding implementation choices and supporting the personal growth of teammates. Why Join Us? Senior Software Engineer - Platform & Infrastructure (f/m/d)
Full TimeOn-siteSenior
pythongorustawsterraformansible+10

The product you will work on The HOLOPLOT Matrix Array is a new type of sound system built around precise, software-defined control of sound in three dimensions - grounded in physics and implemented through a combination of custom hardware and purpose-built software. HOLOPLOT deployed Matrix Arrays in various venues, including the Sphere in Las Vegas - the world's most advanced entertainment venue and, notably, home to the world's largest audio installation in entertainment. Audio processing in HOLOPLOT systems is distributed: every loudspeaker runs embedded Linux, and hundreds of them have to be configured, coordinated, monitored, and updated as one system. This is enabled by multiple open source and in-house developed services running on an on-premises Kubernetes cluster. AWS-hosted services connect venues to remote monitoring, telemetry, and configuration. Many venues are air-gapped or only intermittently connected for remote servicing, and that constraint shapes most of the design decisions in the platform. The ideal candidate is We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who builds the platform our sound systems run on, and who takes responsibility for how it behaves in production. This is a software engineering role first. You will spend your time writing software, either with your own team or embedded with one of the other HOLOPLOT teams: services, controllers, agents, and tooling that provision, configure, observe, and update our systems. Our infrastructure is defined as code and evolves through the same review and release process as the rest of our software. You design the operational side, you build it, and you are on call when it misbehaves in the field. Your role and responsibilities You will join the team that owns the platform underneath our installations and connected services, working alongside backend, embedded, and frontend engineers who are organized in cross-functional product teams. Build the platform Architect and implement services to provision, configure, and manage server fleets across AWS and local clusters. Create control-plane logic for venue systems to ensure consistency, health monitoring, rollout management, and recovery, even during uplink disruptions. Establish end-to-end provisioning workflows for embedded Linux hardware, spanning from initial manufacturing to customer deployment. Enhance update processes to streamline software deployments for active customer installations. Develop APIs and developer tooling that empower engineering teams to independently deploy, observe, and troubleshoot their services. Embed telemetry capabilities into the platform to facilitate remote diagnosis of venue system behavior . Run what you build Own the AWS infrastructure behind our connected services: remote access, access control, telemetry ingestion, remote backup, secret management, and monitoring. All of it is infrastructure as code. Operate and evolve the on-premises Kubernetes footprint at venues, including air-gapped and intermittently connected installations. Monitor large environments, investigate problems across the software/hardware boundary, and turn each incident into a fix in the code. Be part of a compensated on-call rotation Set the technical direction Advise and collaborate with product teams on building distributed systems that are scalable, secure, and observable, and review their designs with production reality in mind. Research and introduce tools and technologies where they measurably improve how we build and operate. Contribute back to the open-source projects we depend on, through issues and fixes. What you need to succeed in this role Several years of professional software engineering experience, most of it spent designing and shipping production systems. Fluency in software engineering as a craft: concurrency, error handling, testing, and designing APIs that other teams build on. Working knowledge of the Kubernetes control plane and the operator/controller pattern, including how clusters behave when they are unhealthy. Hands-on experience with AWS, and a firm belief in infrastructure as code. Terraform and Ansible are what we use today. Comfort across several languages, and the ability to pick up a new one when the problem calls for it. Our platform work is mostly Go and Python, with Rust and C++ elsewhere in the stack. Experience building distributed systems, and a clear understanding of how they fail: partitions, partial rollouts, clock skew, retries, and reconciliation. A good sense for software architecture and maintainability, and the habit of writing code that colleagues can pick up and change. A strong command of Linux, scripting, and automation. Experience instrumenting software for telemetry and using it to answer real questions about running systems. Good judgment about what to automate and what to leave alone. Strong communication skills in English. You can explain a design or a failure clearly to engineers, product stakeholders, and non-specialists. Willingness to take part in compensated on-call and weekend work when installations need it. A can-do mentality, an eye for detail, and the courage to take on problems outside your comfort zone. Experience in using AI for engineering. Nice to haves Experience with NATS, Prometheus/Thanos, or PostgreSQL in production. Experience with air-gapped or intermittently connected installations. Experience running Kubernetes in production, not only deploying to it. Experience with embedded Linux, device fleet management, or IoT security. Networking depth: multicast at scale, WireGuard, BGP, IPv6. Experience in the audio, broadcast, or live events industry. Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects We offer you At HOLOPLOT we work in a flexible hybrid setup with trust-based working hours, giving you the freedom to organise your day in a way that supports focus, deep work and balance. Pay is competitive and fair, and we offer perks and benefits such as subsidised public transport, lunch allowances, Urban Sports and a company pension scheme. You'll join an international, open-minded team across software, hardware, product and research, in an environment with plenty of autonomy and ownership. You'll work on cutting-edge audio technology, turn complex requirements into working solutions and contribute to global projects, with support for your growth through individual development plans, mentoring and coaching. Swarm Aero is redefining air power, building the largest swarming UAV and the most versatile swarming aircraft network in the world. The company is moving quickly to launch the first aircraft designed specifically for swarming, as well as the Command & Control software to mobilize swarms of thousands of heterogeneous autonomous assets and empower human operators to achieve superhuman results. The team has created and exited multiple startups, negotiated defense deals worth billions of dollars, and designed and built 30+ novel aircraft, with aerospace experience from Scaled Composites, Airbus, Archer Aviation, Blue Origin, and Boom Supersonic. Legion's Command & Control platform lets a single operator plan, direct, and execute missions across a networked swarm of heterogeneous aircraft, in real time, over intermittent comms, at a scale nobody else in the industry is attempting. That means distributed state under unreliable networks, dense telemetry moving fast enough to strain anything you've built before, and interfaces for a problem space that barely has prior art. You'll work across the stack, wherever the hard problem is that week. WHAT YOU'LL DO Build and ship features in the C2 system that directs swarms of heterogeneous aircraft Work on systems that hold state and stay responsive when comms degrade or drop entirely Move between the interface layer and the services behind it, following the problem rather than a job description Prototype new ways to represent and control vehicle telemetry, sensor data, and scheduling Take features end to end, from a rough problem statement through design, implementation, and deployment Ship early and often, backed by strong CI/CD, QA, and DevSecOps WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent self-taught depth Real strength in fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, concurrency, networking, systems Evidence you've built something hard because you wanted to. A renderer, an emulator, a game, a compiler, a multiplayer server, a robotics project, a serious open source contribution. We care more about what you've built than where you worked Comfort writing code at more than one layer of the stack, and no strong attachment to staying at one Willingness to work on problems where the right answer isn't known yet, and to be wrong in public on the way to finding it WHAT SETS YOU APART Competitive programming background (ICPC, IOI, Codeforces, USACO, Putnam) Game development, game jams, engine work, or simulation Performance-sensitive work: profiling, frame budgets, memory pressure, running on constrained hardware Real-time or distributed systems experience: multiplayer netcode, streaming, pub/sub, robotics middleware Graphics: WebGL, OpenGL, Vulkan, shaders Working fluency in Go, C++, or Rust Familiarity with video streaming protocols or geospatial applications WHY THIS ROLE You'll be one of the earliest engineers shaping how humans command autonomous systems at scale, work that's currently being defined in real time, by a small team, with your fingerprints on the architecture. Read this part first Somewhere out there is a sourcer who is better than their job title says they are. They hit their numbers at a company that never let them talk to a hiring manager. They found the candidate nobody else found and watched a recruiter take the credit. They have been told to be patient, to wait for the next cycle, to earn it. We are not going to make you wait. What we do We build autonomous aircraft and Legion, the software that flies hundreds of them as one coordinated swarm. Series A, backed by Khosla Ventures, and Coatue. We are hiring software engineers and aircraft engineers at the same time, which is hard, and how fast we hire is one of the few things standing between the current aircraft and the next one. That is not a motivational line. It is the actual constraint. Recruiting is on the critical path here, and you will be able to see your work in the flight schedule. The job You own top of funnel for our software engineering roles: backend, frontend, autonomy, forward deployed. You will be reading GitHub profiles, writing outreach that engineers answer, and building searches that keep producing after the obvious names are gone. Then the interesting part. Inside your first year you move onto the aircraft side: propulsion, structures, avionics, manufacturing, production. Almost nobody sources both. The people who can are rare enough that it changes what your career looks like from that point forward. We will teach you, and you will be bad at it for a while, and then you will not be. What you get here that you did not get there Your own reqs, early, with your name on the outcome Hiring managers in the same building, not behind an intake form The freedom to change the message when it is not working, without asking three people first Someone who runs sourcing searches themselves every day and will look at your search strings with you A skill set at the end of two years that maybe a few hundred people in the country have What we need from you 1+ years of sourcing or recruiting, most of it in software engineering A hire you are proud of, one nobody else was going to find, and the ability to walk us through exactly how you found them A high tolerance for silence, because most of your outreach will go unanswered and the job is making the next message better anyway Real curiosity about how aircraft get built, or at least the honesty to say you find it interesting and want in Writing that sounds like a person, since your entire work product is text a stranger decides to open or delete Clean data habits, because our reporting goes to the CEO and it needs to be right What we do not need Ten years of experience. A recruiting pedigree. A degree in anything specific. Permission from your current manager to be good at this. The honest version The pace is uncomfortable. You will be asked to fill roles you do not understand yet, and the answer will usually be to go learn them rather than to wait for a briefing. If you want a clear ladder and a quiet quarter, this is the wrong job. If you have been waiting for someone to hand you something real, this is the shot. ITAR requirement To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. PelicoParis, Germany13 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid
javakotlinci/cddevopsmanufacturingtalent acquisition+1

About Pelico Traditional industrial manufacturing systems were built for predictability. Supply chains no longer are. Today, real-time data is buried in legacy tools that weren't designed for constant disruption. By the time an issue surfaces, it has already snowballed, sending everyone into firefighting mode. Pelico exists to close the gap between production plans and the daily reality on the factory floor. We've built the manufacturing orchestration platform trusted by the world's most complex industrial operations : companies like Airbus, Boeing, Safran, Eaton, and Cartier. Our AI connects fragmented supply chain, production, and quality data into a single live operational picture — then puts AI agents to work anticipating disruptions, simulating recovery options, and keeping every team aligned before small problems become expensive ones. Founded in 2019 and backed by General Catalyst, 83North, and Serena, we've raised $72M and are growing fast — 300% year-over-year revenue growth, deployed in 15+ countries, and supporting factories worldwide. We're headquartered in Paris, with offices in Miami, London and Amsterdam, and we're just getting started. This is a rare chance to join a company that's redefining an industry that hasn't been disrupted in decades — from the inside. The opportunity We're a stealth startup in AI and bio, building infrastructure for data generation. The team is small and elite, the problems are hard, and the foundations are being laid right now. You'd help write them from the first line, with real ownership and a direct line to the founders. About us AI for biology has a data problem. The data that matters most doesn't exist yet, so we're building the infrastructure to produce it, with quality and traceability built in from day one. We're in stealth and heads-down on execution. We'll share more about what we're building once you've spoken with the team. What you'll do You will build the core software behind our lab, working across the stack with the founding software engineer and the wider team. Where you land depends on you and on what we need next. Any of these could be yours: Data infrastructure and the data model underpinning how we ingest, process and output data APIs and services that other systems and agents plug into Workflow orchestration and the systems that track what the lab is doing in real time Pipelines that structure incoming data, with audit logging so nothing is unaccounted for The platform underneath it all: data-serving abstractions, auth and access control, and observability Whatever you own, you own it end to end. You will write production code from your first weeks, help set the architecture and the engineering culture, and work closely with scientists and with the team that learns from the data we produce. Your first 90 days FIRST 30 DAYS Get productive in the codebase and ship your first change, following the team's review and deployment practices. Take ownership of a service or surface within the team. DAYS 30 TO 60 Ship a meaningful slice of your surface into use, in the hands of the scientists who depend on it. Wire your work into the shared data model so everything it touches is captured and traceable. DAYS 60 TO 90 Own your surface end to end, including its reliability, observability and on-call. Help shape the architecture and the next hires as the team scales. Who you are You are a generalist who has shipped production systems that other people depend on. You write good code at speed, you have opinions about architecture, and you have learned when to hold them and when to defer. You are happy owning a service end to end, including the parts that are not glamorous. You have worked across the stack and can pick up whatever the problem in front of you needs. You do not need a biology background and we will not test for one; the science is something you will learn by working next to it. What we do want is curiosity about what this infrastructure makes possible, and what it means for the people who will use it. MUST HAVE Bar-raising. You strive for excellence, raise the bar wherever you land, and hold it when it would be easier not to. We care about the finest details in our processes and our software, and you should want to. Speed. Comfortable with ambiguity, with a bias towards action, learning and iterating. You can decide on partial information and revisit when better information arrives. Big-picture thinking. There is a voice in your head asking why you are building this, who it is for, and what would make it 100x better. Range. A generalist: backend services and APIs, data pipelines, and front-end to ship a usable interface. Fluent in at least one language you build production services in, and happy to work in whatever stack the team settles on. AI-native building. You build with coding agents by default, and you have opinions and taste about what they produce rather than blind faith in the output. Engineering discipline. Rigorous CI/CD and automated testing are how you work, not something you bolt on later. End-to-end ownership. Architecture, reliability, observability and the on-call pager, including the parts that are not glamorous. NICE TO HAVE Experience at the software-to-physical-world boundary (lab automation, robotics, manufacturing, logistics, scientific instruments, or energy). Orchestration, scheduling or workflow-engine work, and distributed systems at scale. Data-intensive systems: pipelines, ontologies or knowledge graphs, provenance or lineage. Early-stage or founding-engineer experience at a venture-backed company. Why this is unusual Most software roles like this build a product that lives entirely on a screen. This one connects to the physical world. The software you build drives real experiments, and the data it captures is the product, not telemetry about it. When something deviates, your software is what catches it and records why. You will also work at the same table as software, hardware and biology, and the three do not always agree. Some engineers find that mix energising; some find it distracting. It is worth knowing in advance which one you are. How we work You will work in a hybrid pattern with regular time in London, close to the people and the work, because the software is built close to the thing it runs. The rest of the team is distributed across several locations and works flexibly, and we keep a light shared rhythm: a Monday kickoff, a Thursday all-hands, a short daily team sync, and a quarterly offsite. We are a small team that documents in the open and backs the best idea regardless of who has it. We look after people well. In the UK that means 30 days of annual leave plus public holidays, a pension with a 10% employer contribution, and top-tier private health cover with Bupa, with more added as the team grows. The process Screening, then a behavioural and cultural-fit conversation, then a technical session or work sample with the team, including time in person in London, then references. We are an equal opportunity employer. We make hiring decisions on merit, scope-fit, and the strength of the working relationship we expect to build with each hire. Applications welcome from candidates of any background. Find Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow

We work with ambitious companies to help fundamentally rewire how they work with AI, and accelerate their growth. Our mission is to help companies reinvent themselves for the AI era and cross the emerging AI productivity gap.
