You enjoy understanding how systems work, asking thoughtful questions, and finding a path forward when the answer isn't obvious. You build trust across teams, make difficult tradeoffs clear, and follow through on the details that turn a good plan into a successful launch. You'll partner with Product, Engineering, and business leaders across our Network, Growth, Member, and Clinical pillars. Each hire will support a defined set of teams, combining visibility across their roadmaps with direct leadership of selected complex programs. Your work could span provider data platforms, clinical integrations, member digital experiences, enrollment, broker tools, or marketing technology. As an early member of a growing Tech PMO, you'll also help shape how we plan, solve problems, and deliver together. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of the Tech PMO. You will report into the Director, Technical Program Management. Coordinate teams and vendors through integrations, testing, adoption, and launch readiness, including required security, privacy, and compliance reviews. Support quarterly and annual planning. Give leaders a clear view of progress, what needs attention, and whether delivered work is producing the intended results. Help build a strong TPM team: share useful practices, challenge unnecessary process, support colleagues, and turn lessons from delivery into improvements. Requirements: Experience independently leading complex technical programs across multiple teams, from planning through launch and operational handoff. Technical fluency to engage engineers on software systems, APIs, data flows, integrations, and implementation tradeoffs. Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguous problems and manage dependencies, risks, and competing priorities. A record of building trust and influencing decisions across technical and business teams without direct authority. Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex issues and recommend a course of action to senior leaders. Strong ownership and follow-through, with examples of moving work forward when plans change or obstacles arise. Staff Product Manager, Atlas Infinite
Full TimeHybridPrincipal$151,000 - $151,000 / Year
goawsazuregoogle cloudmongodbmental health+10

The Staff Product Manager is an Individual Contributor (IC) product leader responsible for a broad platform surface for Atlas Infinite at MongoDB. Atlas Infinite is the largest architectural innovation in MongoDB Atlas ever, purpose-built to handle today's speed and scale of development and demand.  In this position, you will own and solve end-to-end problems around the user experience and database experience of Atlas Infinite, including but limited to feature discovery, activation, monetization, and retention. You will see patterns, opportunities, and risks across areas, own cross-team product and architectural trade-offs, establish reusable standards for PM craft, and align senior stakeholders around multi-year bets. You have deep knowledge of cloud database platforms, distributed data systems, and enterprise product development. You will partner closely with cross-functional engineering leaders, product peers, and executive stakeholders to drive outcomes across organizational boundaries, guiding a portfolio spanning Atlas Infinite's disaggregated compute and storage architecture, production workload readiness, migration and Atlas interoperability, and the new customer experiences this architecture may make possible. You will not inherit a closed list of future features: part of your mandate is to discover opportunities we have not yet articulated and challenge assumptions about which problems matter most. With AWS public preview now live, you will help turn real workload evidence into a credible path to GA and subsequent releases, in close partnership with the existing team. This role can be based out of a MongoDB office or remotely in the United States. Responsibilities Interlinked Vision & Multi-Year Bets: Set and champion a product vision across Atlas Infinite's capabilities, while actively discovering opportunities that are not on today's roadmap or fit any single team's remit. Explore what decoupled compute and storage could make possible for developers, enterprises, and emerging AI workloads; use hypotheses, customer evidence, prototypes, and market signals to uncover needs we have not yet named. Branching, on-demand compute, and instant recovery are examples of possible bets. Make the case for investment and prioritization, including build-vs-buy considerations, and distinguish exploratory vision from release commitments Cross-Team Execution: Along with program management, own execution health across workstreams, negotiating sequencing, scope, and resource trade-offs with engineering leaders and peer PMs where you have no direct authority. Ensure preview-to-GA readiness, roadmaps, and dependencies across database, storage, Atlas platform, migration, backup, security, and cloud infrastructure teams are aligned and connect to company objectives Execution & Research Standards: Establish lightweight operating practices and shared customer/market research frameworks that make workload qualification, customer-representative testing, win/loss analysis, launch readiness, and post-launch learning consistent across the portfolio. Use data to drive decisions without overburdening delivery teams Product Health: Resolve complex post-launch escalations when the root cause spans architecture, performance, migration, observability, supportability, or unclear ownership. Turn customer and operational signals into systemic product fixes rather than one-off workarounds Customer Discovery: Identify needs and competitive dynamics that cut across product areas. Look beyond requests from today's customers to discover emerging jobs-to-be-done, surprising uses of the architecture, and reasons customers do not choose MongoDB at all. Combine interviews, workload and pricing evidence, product analytics, field feedback, and experiments to test known hypotheses and uncover unknowns; reorient the roadmap when the evidence warrants it Outbound & GTM: Partner with product marketing, pricing, sales, solutions architecture, customer success, documentation, and support on high-stakes customer engagements, product positioning, and omni-channel marketing. Establish ideal customer profile; ensure claims and migration guidance match demonstrated capabilities; translate successful adoption and enablement approaches into shared playbooks Executive Alignment: Synthesize customer experience, technical readiness, adoption, and commercial impact into clear, confident product stories for senior leadership. Surface cross-area risks and progress early, including trade-offs between new-workload growth, customer savings, and changes to existing Atlas usage Mentorship: Mentor PMs across the area, sharing frameworks for cross-team alignment, customer evidence, technical trade-offs, multi-year bets, and leadership communication Qualifications 8+ years of product management or equivalent product leadership experience, with a track record personally shaping strategy and outcomes for complex technical platforms across multiple teams, rather than only coordinating delivery Strong technical fluency in cloud databases, distributed data systems, storage infrastructure, developer experiences, or an adjacent developer platform. Able to reason with engineers about architecture, performance, availability, data movement, and trade-offs without needing to be the system designer A demonstrated ability to discover opportunities beyond the current roadmap: connect technical possibilities to unmet customer needs, formulate and test hypotheses, notice surprising patterns, and change direction when evidence challenges the original thesis Experience taking a complex product from early adoption toward dependable, broader use while protecting space for longer-term innovation; able to make explicit trade-offs among customer trust, technical readiness, speed, and investment Proven ability to influence without authority, negotiating sequencing and resource trade-offs across partner teams with competing priorities Commercial and analytical judgment: able to assess workload-level value, adoption and usage evidence, competitive alternatives, pricing and unit economics, and the impact of a new product on an existing portfolio. Comfortable with build-vs-buy questions where relevant Ability to raise the quality of customer discovery and product decision-making across teams through useful shared methods and mentorship, without mistaking more process for better outcomes Exceptional communication skills: able to explain a technical and commercial thesis, its uncertainties, and the evidence that would change your mind to engineers, customers, executives, and go-to-market partners Success Measures In 3 months you will have built a shared picture of which workloads Atlas Infinite serves well today, where customers struggle, what must be true for broader adoption, and what remains unknown. You will have clarified ownership with peer PMs and engineering, established baseline measures, and identified the highest-value questions to investigate In 6 months you will have influenced consequential roadmap and GA-readiness decisions with customer-representative evidence; articulated a compelling, revisable view of where Infinite can create distinctive customer value beyond GA; and built a learning agenda with clear tests and decision points for both known bets and newly emerging opportunities In 12 months the portfolio will show measurable progress against its established baselines for qualified adoption, customer experience, and readiness for broader workloads. Important bets will have advanced, changed, or been stopped for explicit reasons; cross-team investments will have produced customer value; and the team will be better equipped to recognize and act on opportunities that were not visible at the start of the year About MongoDB MongoDB is built for change, empowering our customers and our people to innovate at the speed of the market. Principal Security Engineer
MongoDBSan Francisco (Hybrid)10 days ago
Full TimeHybridPrincipal$162,000 - $162,000 / Year
goawsazuregoogle cloudmongodbmental health+6

MongoDB's Global Security Organization (GSO) is looking for a Principal Security Engineer. The GSO secures MongoDB's products, infrastructure, and the trust our customers place in us — spanning product security, corporate security, and risk, and working across engineering, go-to-market, and corporate development to keep security moving at the same speed as the business. The Principal Security Engineer will serve as a senior technical anchor for the team. This is a deep individual-contributor role that will stay hands-on with hard security and architecture problems, form sharp independent opinions, and know how to debate, align, and commit once GSO has made a call.   Key topic areas will include collaborating with our product teams to ensure identity and permission models meet customer needs for our new autonomous agent platform and working with integration security teams to push the envelope on automated detection, reproduction, and remediation of security vulnerabilities via AI.  What we need here is depth, judgment, and the ability to build up the bench of senior technical talent around you. This role can be based out of our NYC or Seattle office or remotely in the North America region. Responsibilities Maintain real technical depth in security and in MongoDB's product architecture — compute, network, and storage — deep enough to evaluate actual risk rather than apply generic best practice Form independent, well-reasoned opinions on security and architecture decisions, and voice them even when they cut against consensus or a leader's default plan Push teams to move faster when process or over-engineering is introducing complexity without reducing risk — and push teams to slow down when GTM pressure is outrunning a clear-eyed view of the risk Debate hard, then align, then commit: help the org land on the right call, then execute on it Seed and grow a working community of senior ICs embedded in security operations, product security, and enterprise security — connecting people, sharing knowledge, and creating the venues (formal or informal) for that to happen Lead time-boxed, high-stakes, cross-functional engagements such as M&A security due diligence and partner risk assessments, often with incomplete information and a short runway Draw on your own expertise where it applies, and quickly figure out how to close knowledge gaps elsewhere — staying accountable for the outcome either way Requirements 12+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline, including senior individual-contributor or technical-lead experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Deep, credible technical expertise in security, plus working depth across compute, network, and storage architecture A track record of forming and defending independent technical positions, along with the judgment to know when to stop debating and commit Experience influencing without formal authority, including with management and cross-functional partners, in both directions — accelerating and slowing down decisions Comfort owning ambiguous, deadline-driven work such as M&A diligence or partner risk reviews, and being accountable for the result even without the full picture upfront A genuine interest in mentoring and connecting other senior engineers, without needing a management title to do it Don't feel that you meet all of the requirements? We encourage you to apply anyway — studies show strong candidates sometimes rule themselves out prematurely. MongoDB has a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and high-performing environment, and we want to keep improving our ability to deliver for customers. Nice to Haves Direct experience leading M&A security due diligence or partner/vendor risk assessments Background spanning multiple layers of the stack (e.g., network and storage, or application and infrastructure security) A history of building or growing technical communities of practice Success in This Role Means Leadership trusts your technical judgment on the hardest, most ambiguous calls Your willingness to disagree — in either direction, faster or slower — makes decisions better, not just louder A real community of senior security talent has formed around you in GSO About MongoDB MongoDB is built for change, empowering our customers and our people to innovate at the speed of the market.
