It also requires thriving in ambiguity, adjusting course as new information emerges, and maintaining focus and positivity in a fast-moving and intense environment. We also recognize that this style of operating is not for everyone. If you are primarily optimizing for predictability or a consistently balanced workload, we encourage you to use the interview process to pressure-test whether this environment is truly the right fit. We want teammates who thrive here, not just survive here. If you are excited by meaningful problems, motivated by ambitious goals, and energized by working alongside mission-driven colleagues, there is a good chance you will find TRM to be an exceptional place to grow and contribute. Leadership Principles We hire and grow against three leadership principles. They're the standards for how we operate, treat each other, and make decisions. We're driven by the desire to continuously hone our craft and to this end, we regularly assess our processes, seek feedback, and embrace iterative development to refine what we do. This mindset creates an environment where innovation is part of our daily routine and every team member is an impact-oriented trailblazer. By celebrating our successes and learning from our setbacks, we stay agile and forward-thinking, always striving to elevate our performance and impact. Learn about TRM Speed in this position: The team received a request from customers to show the running balance for assets tied to an address within the product. They brainstormed to determine the minimal viable solution that could be delivered within two weeks. The team decided to develop a framework that would facilitate enabling this feature for each chain (such as BTC, ETH, etc.) individually. They successfully implemented and tested this solution for the BTC chain and delivered it to customers within the two-week timeframe. This approach allowed the team to quickly provide value to customers and establish a repeatable process. The team was tasked with implementing a new feature that would enable TRM to gather feedback from the user community swiftly. Due to the company's goal of showcasing the feature at an upcoming event, the timeline was tight. The team quickly adjusted to the request, assessed the requirements, and developed a solution that addressed 80% of the needs and could be executed within a very short timeframe. They successfully delivered the feature on schedule, impressing customers with both the functionality and the speed of execution. The team was tasked with developing a solution to reveal Indirect Exposure through cross-chain swaps in response to a competitor's similar feature. Before choosing the technical approach, the team consulted with stakeholders to establish a feasible timeline for the implementation. With this input, the team devised a solution that fit the timeline, communicated the tradeoffs to stakeholders, and successfully delivered the solution as promised. About TRM's Engineering Levels: Engineer: Responsible for helping to define project milestones and executing small decisions independently with the appropriate tradeoffs between simplicity, readability, and performance. Provides mentorship to junior engineers, and enhances operational excellence through tech debt reduction and knowledge sharing. Consistently delivers efficient and reusable systems, optimizes team throughput with appropriate tradeoffs, mentors team members, and enhances cross-team collaboration through documentation and knowledge sharing. Staff Engineer: Drives scoping and execution of one or more OKRs/projects that impact multiple teams. Partners with stakeholders to set the team vision and technical roadmaps for one or more products. Is a role model and mentor to the entire engineering organization. We don't have an 'AI mandate'; we believe that if we make AI both easy to use and safe, people will choose to use it when appropriate. Comfort with ambiguity and self-directed prioritization on a small, still-forming team Product or systems thinking — able to identify and prioritize high-leverage opportunities, not just execute a pre-set roadmap Nice to Have Prior experience in developer experience, platform engineering, or internal tooling Experience evaluating or benchmarking LLMs and coding agents Experience with a systems language such as Go or Rust, in addition to Python Background in security or code-review practices — helpful for reasoning about AI/agent-generated code, though you don't need to be a security engineer Experience in developer relations, technical evangelism, or customer-facing developer advocacy — the same skills that make someone effective in external DevRel translate well to driving internal AI adoption Technical project management experience As a company, we strive to maintain fair and equitable compensation practices within our team across all roles and all levels. You will work alongside industry-leading minds on autonomous systems, advanced propulsion, and secure cyber platforms. We foster a fast-paced, collaborative environment where bold ideas are supported by serious R&D backing. About the Team You will join our hardware engineering team, working closely with engineers across propulsion, power systems, testing, and aircraft development to turn measured data into better-performing unmanned systems. Your Mission Your mission is to work hands-on with the parts of the aircraft that turn stored energy into flight: the motors, the batteries, and the propulsion and power components that decide how far, how fast, and how long our platforms fly. You support the hardware team from bench characterisation through data analysis in MATLAB and Python. Responsibilities Support characterisation and bench testing of motors, propellers, batteries, and power components for our UAS platforms. Help set up test rigs and instrumentation, and capture clean, repeatable measurement data. Assist with component selection and trade-offs by turning test data into clear comparisons. Reduce and analyse test data in MATLAB and Python — efficiency, thrust, endurance, thermal and discharge behaviour. Visualise results so the engineering team can make decisions from them quickly. Keep test setups, measurements, and findings documented and traceable. Required Skills Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or a comparable engineering field. Working knowledge of MATLAB and Python for data analysis. Interest in and some exposure to UAS, electric propulsion (motors / ESCs), or battery / power systems. Must be a citizen of a NATO member state (due to export control and security regulations). Practical, hands-on mindset — comfortable at the bench and with a multimeter as much as in a script. Good written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus. Hands-on: You like building, measuring, and finding out what really happens. Rigorous: You trust clean measurements over assumptions. Curious: You want to understand why a component behaves the way it does. Nice-To-Have Experience with test benches, DAQ, or measurement instrumentation. Familiarity with battery testing, thermal behaviour, or motor/propeller characterisation. Personal projects with drones, RC aircraft, batteries, or robotics. Equal Opportunity: At Stark Defence, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team. We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We actively encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and identities. If you are excited about this role, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the listed qualifications—ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points. We value unique perspectives, adaptability, and a drive to solve high-stakes challenges. Security Clearance: Due to the nature of our work in the defence sector, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for this position. Details will be provided during the recruitment process. Find more English Speaking Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
