We Are Sparta Sparta is the AI leader for commodity trading, home to Leonidas AI, the first operating system for oil and commodity traders. Backed by $42 million in Series B funding led by One Peak, with participation from returning investors FirstMark and Singular, the same investors behind AI leaders like Legora, Dataiku, and Synthesia. Most companies are building a chatbot on top of data. We've built an agent with an actual reasoning layer, grounded in years of proprietary market data and in-house trading expertise nobody else has. We're scaling fast, and it's an exciting time to join. From independents to multinationals, the world's leading commodity teams use Sparta and Leonidas AI to move faster, trade smarter, and stay ahead of the market. At Sparta, you'll be trusted to take ownership, backed by a team who wants you to succeed. AI is how we build here, not just what we sell. Good ideas move fast, and yours could go from staging to production in a couple of hours, whatever department you're in. You'll be challenged, supported, and given room to grow, building the AI that's changing how commodity trading gets done. Your work has reach. From shaping Leonidas AI, to powering smarter decisions for traders around the world, to changing how commodity trading is done. And because we're growing fast, you'll accelerate your career with a level of ownership and impact you simply won't get at bigger, slower-moving companies. At Sparta, we're on a mission to build the next generation of commodity trading platforms - replacing the fragmented tools that traders typically rely on with a single, powerful dashboard. Our product is a data-driven platform that aggregates real-time feeds from across the commodities domain, transforming them into intuitive, actionable visualisations within one unified interface. Users can explore pre-built data views or define their own custom formulas to create tailored insights. To deliver on this vision, our engineers tackle real distributed systems problems on a daily basis, where designing for reliability and performance at scale is essential to a seamless user experience. As we unlock the next level of scale, those problems get harder and more interesting. This role is for an engineer who wants to own meaningful parts of that system now, and grow into the technical decisions that shape it. We're looking for people who thrive in an empowered environment - engineers who are comfortable being given problems to solve rather than solutions to implement. You should enjoy working at pace, value autonomy, and prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. You won't be handed tickets. You'll be handed context, and trusted to work out the right thing to build. Whereas Sparta is a remote-first company, for this role we're looking for someone who values a hybrid working style, which in a typical week could involve spending a couple of days in the office - with flexibility built in. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Design, build and maintain the backend services behind our real-time and analytical data processing. Own features end to end, from shaping the approach to running them in production. Optimise pipelines and services for low latency, high throughput and scale. Work with engineers, product and stakeholders to stay aligned on direction. Contribute to design reviews with a clear view on the trade-offs. Keep your services healthy - observability, feedback loops, incident response. Raise the bar around you through code review, pairing and knowledge sharing. ABOUT YOU: 4+ years as a software engineer, with production systems you've built and supported. High ownership tendencies Experience in a product-focused organisation, working cross-functionally. Comfortable across multiple languages. We mainly use Kotlin, Java, Python and TypeScript. Able to reason about trade-offs - throughput, latency, consistency, cost - and explain them. At home in system design and in low-level implementation detail. Experience building and deploying services on AWS or GCP. Hands-on exposure to Kafka, Flink, Redis or clustered Postgres, and an appetite for more. Comfortable with agent-based development tools. We use Claude Code; any equivalent is fine. A clear communicator and a pragmatic problem-solver. NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE: Data-intensive applications at scale. Building and interpreting observability - metrics, logging, tracing. Working within or alongside DevOps, SRE or infrastructure teams. Complex distributed environments - high throughput, low latency, large datasets. Any exposure to commodities, energy or financial markets. Useful, but we'll teach you the domain. Why Join Sparta? At Sparta, our culture is built on innovation, collaboration, and high performance. We thrive in a fast-paced environment where initiative is celebrated, challenges are embraced, and impact is rewarded. • Equity in a high-growth, VC-backed company • $42M in Series B funding — strong market traction and investment • Early-stage growth — build your career as we scale • Market-leading product — we are redefining commodity trading intelligence • Top-tier tools and technology to support your success What's the Culture Like at Sparta? At Sparta, our culture isn't just a set of values on a wall — it's how we work. We embrace a dynamic environment where initiative is celebrated, challenges are met head-on, and innovation thrives. You'll collaborate with people who are passionate about our mission and committed to building outstanding products and outcomes for our customers. The Sparta Code Understanding is non-negotiable Understanding leads to believing. Believing leads to winning. The 'why' is the difference between compliance and conviction. Before we execute, we ask: why does this matter, who does it serve, what changes if we win? People who understand the mission don't need to be managed. Ask for forgiveness, not for permission Most decisions are reversible. Most fears are not. 90% of decisions are reversible. Make them, ship, iterate. Perfection is the enemy of efficiency. Bias for action means moving before you have all the answers, but it isn't recklessness. The rule: tell the rest of us what you did, what changed, what you learned. Fall in love with the problem The mission wins. Your idea doesn't have to. Solutions flatter our ego. They feel like progress. But solutions without problems are opinions, and opinions don't move customers, markets, or teammates. The goal is to find what's true, not to win the room. If your idea gets killed because a better one comes along, that's the system working. It's your fault. Lucky you. If it's on you, it's in your control. True ownership sounds harsh until you feel how liberating it is. If every problem is yours, you stop spending energy on who to blame and start spending it on how to fix it. Effective leaders default to 'it's on me'. Not out of guilt, but out of agency. Conflict is a gift Honesty is an expression of care. Withholding feedback is choosing comfort over growth, yours and your colleague's. Staying silent deprives others of the chance to learn. We challenge openly and with positive intent. Done with care, this builds trust. Done with ego, it destroys it. Sparta Commodities is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and promotes diversity within its workforce. We are determined that no-one will ever receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status, race, veteran status or any basis covered by appropriate law. About Niantic Spatial AI has learned from almost everything online, but it still struggles with the physical world, where 99.5% of economic activity happens. It doesn't know where things are, how spaces fit together, or what changes over time. That's one of the biggest unsolved problems in AI, and it's the one we're solving at Niantic Spatial. We build spatial AI models and services so people and machines can reason, learn and act safely in the physical world. We turn camera imagery, video, sensor data and archives into accurate, AI-readable representations of real places that robots can train in and machines can use to know exactly where they are. In physical AI, mistakes have real consequences. That's why we build AI grounded in measured reality, not guesswork, so the people and machines relying on it can trust it to get things right. Our team built some of the world's most widely used maps. Now we're building something bigger: a living, measured record of the real world that machines can query, learn from and use to understand how places change over time. If you want to help AI understand the world we actually live in, come build with us. About the Role You'll help build the geometric foundation of the next-generation world map — joining our World Map Research Engineering team (Geospatial Alignment) as a Research Engineer or Senior Research Engineer. This is an end-to-end applied research role that spans from strong engineering and data-systems work to R&D in 3D deep learning, transformers, and foundation models. You'll develop new algorithms, produce the research data and evaluation assets needed to advance them, and engineer the resulting capabilities into dependable production systems. The World Map team works with heterogeneous captures from phones and handheld devices, aerial imagery, LiDAR, and 360 cameras, as well as external geographic and elevation data. The central challenge is to harmonize these data sources, quantify uncertainty, and maintain consistency as the map evolves. You'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge research and scalable engineering — developing new approaches to geospatial registration, correspondence, and geometric optimization, then productionizing these technologies to directly improve Niantic Spatial's world model. What You'll Do Geospatial Registration — Develop and advance algorithms for world-scale georeferencing and registration across imagery, 3D reconstructions, point clouds, and geographic reference data. 3D Geometry & Correspondence — Build and improve methods spanning multi-view geometry, SfM, SLAM, feature matching, learned correspondence, bundle adjustment, point-cloud registration, and ICP. Data & Evaluation — Create the data and evaluation flywheel for world-scale mapping — design and maintain large-scale datasets, pipelines, benchmarks, and evaluation methodologies that expose hard failure modes, accelerate research iteration, and support production. Learning-Based 3D Reasoning — Explore and develop learning-based approaches for geospatial understanding, combining transformers and 3D foundation models with geometric priors and uncertainty modeling. Production Robustness — Design robust solutions for challenging real-world conditions: sparse or noisy GPS, changing appearance, inconsistent reconstruction quality, large geographic extents, and imperfect reference maps. Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner with leading researchers in visual localization, 3D computer vision, and mapping — as well as engineering and product teams — to identify high-impact problems and turn research breakthroughs into end-to-end production systems. Research Communication — Share results clearly through technical writing, design reviews, and internal presentations; contribute to publications and open research where appropriate. What You'll Bring Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, Photogrammetry, or a closely related field — or equivalent research or industry experience. Strong grounding in 3D computer vision, machine learning, robotics, photogrammetry, or a closely related area. Demonstrated experience with 3D geometry and several relevant areas — multi-view reconstruction, SfM, SLAM, camera pose estimation, point-cloud registration, image-based localization, georeferencing, or sensor fusion. The ability to formulate ambiguous real-world problems, choose the right mathematical or learning-based tools, and evaluate solutions rigorously. Strong Python skills and experience with modern ML and scientific-computing libraries (PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy). Strong software engineering skills — you can turn research prototypes into reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems. A track record of taking an algorithm from research idea and experimental prototype through evaluation, benchmarking, and deployment on real-world data. Clear written and verbal communication; able to collaborate effectively across research and engineering disciplines. Nice to Have PhD in computer vision, robotics, machine learning, photogrammetry, geodesy, remote sensing, or a related field — not required, but valued. A strong publication record or active involvement in the research community at venues such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGGRAPH, 3DV, ICRA, or RSS. Experience with learning-based approaches for visual or 3D understanding — transformers, point transformers, foundation models, or methods combining learned representations with explicit geometric priors. Experience with aerial or satellite imagery, GNSS/GPS, geodesy, mapping systems, or large-scale spatial data. Evidence of technical leadership, mentorship, or successful cross-functional delivery. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: Competitive market rate. Compensation also includes an annual bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Location & Work Model This role is based in our London office, with three days per week in office. We welcome applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship. Inclusive Application We know the strongest candidates don't always tick every box. If you're excited about this role and believe you could do it well, we encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every qualification listed — you may be exactly who we're looking for. tl;dr After 14 years in construction tech, Lea & Jonas are building the AI foundation for the construction industry 6 of Europe's 20 largest construction companies already rely on Kuro, with leading construction enterprises representing over €40bn in combined annual construction volume using the platform every day Construction has some of the most complex, unstructured data you can throw at an LLM. At Kuro, you can tackle some of the hardest problems in applied AI every day Curious about the bigger engineering challenge? Explore the vision and open problems at kuro.build . About us Lea and Jonas scaled two of Europe's leading construction tech companies - Capmo and alcemy - and saw firsthand the challenges holding the industry back. Now they're tackling the root cause: the 50% of construction work still lost to manual data handling. Kuro is building the AI foundation for construction. We're reimagining how construction professionals get work done and make decisions by leveraging AI to augment back-office workflows and make core data accessible. We are not pursuing marginal improvements, but a step change for construction. After one year on the market, leading construction enterprises with a combined annual construction volume of >€40 billion use Kuro every day to automate workflows and make faster, better decisions. Backed by an €10 million seed round, we already process more than 1 million pages every month and expect that volume to grow 10x over the next six months. We are 15 people based in Berlin. You will join a group of technical ex-founders and builders who are ambitious and kind. The technical roadmap for the next two to three quarters is yours. Make the build-or-buy decisions: which models we use, and which retrieval and orchestration stack we build on. Turn a vague customer request ("show me where the bid deviates from the BoQ") into a scoped plan with the risks named. Raise the bar for the team Mentor engineers: Review their designs and their code. Define the engineering standards. Find what slows the team down, in tooling or in the CI/CD pipeline, and fix it. Interview and hire engineers. You have no direct reports. You change decisions in product and in other teams with a written argument. Build and own end-to-end (AI) features Design and implement new features to solve a specific user problem, such as document versioning or our agentic Chat. From concept to DB schema, to optimizing LLMs, to UI. Own the full development lifecycle of customer-facing features. Manage evaluations and scoring, and perform error analysis on new and shipped AI features. Build the platform that abstracts workflow building Contribute to the workflow harness, decision-trace standard, and eval tooling so a new use case ships in ~1 month Build reusable human review & approval surfaces where trust in AI output is earned Work on the construction ontology & project graph Help model and evolve canonical entities of our customers Contribute to entity resolution across sources: recognizing the same requirement, position, or price across BoQs, contracts, drawings, and bids Build features so answers are evidence-linked and auditable, and decisions flow back into the graph Contribute to scalable data pipelines & integrations Extend our multi-modal ingestion of unstructured documents - PDFs, scans, drawings, and 3D models - orchestrated and cost-efficient at scale Build read/write integrations with customer systems (document management, ERP/AVA), so workflows complete work end-to-end Projects you would be involved in Current & Past projects Project & document versioning guaranteeing data lineage in construction projects German tokenizer for construction-specific search Document pipeline ingesting 10,000s of PDFs per day Native BIM/DWG file support: ingesting and processing 3D models Design the ontology v1 + graph schema: core construction entities, evidence links, and per-customer extension model Build out our workflow harness to run agentic workflows for customers Current Tech Stack It is still day 0 for Kuro. Gain operates globally with offices in New York, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Warsaw, and Bangalore. How we work Predicting what isn't published. Many private companies publish little or no financial detail. Across a database of more than 5 million companies, we predict revenue and EBITDA from sparse labels, and we predict whether and when a company will be bought or sold, which is a time-to-event problem with censored data. Agents on a messy web. Our agents search, navigate and extract company data points from sources that contradict each other, then decide which source to trust before committing to an answer. Quality that holds while everything underneath moves. We're provider-agnostic. Model choices follow the evals, and we switch LLMs when the numbers say so. That only works if the evals are trusted. What will you do? The work is roughly half LLM agents and half custom ML, leaning slightly toward agents. The design of our agent pipelines: architecture, tools, and which model for which task. You'll shape the technical direction with our AI Lead. The evaluation behind agents and models: offline reference sets, live production evals, and the call on whether an improvement is real. Our prediction models for financials and deals: features, validation, retraining, and knowing when a simpler model wins. Getting work into production: trace where pipelines fail and fix the weakest links first, with compute, memory and model cost in view. Raising the bar in the team through design reviews, pairing, and an eval-first habit that sticks. In your first six months you'll own the evals for our agent pipelines, propose where we invest next, and ship measurable improvements to both the agents and the prediction models. Who are you? You've built and owned ML systems in production for years, typically 6+ in ML or software engineering. In the last 1–2 years you've shipped LLM agents or pipelines that real users depend on, not demos. You have modelling judgement. You've dealt with leakage, distribution shift and calibration on real data. You measure before you claim. You can build an evaluation set and tell an honest improvement from a lucky one. You care about the user outcome more than the technique. Ideas without a clear customer benefit don't get built here, however interesting. Nice to have: time-to-event modelling, noisy or conflicting data sources, financial or private-company data. No finance background needed. The team You'll join our Data & AI team of six and report to Renan, our AI Lead who's been building production models for >10 years. Our engineering team runs the infrastructure, and you shape what runs on it. The stack Core: Python (async, fully typed with Pydantic) and FastAPI LLMs: multiple providers behind our own provider-agnostic layer, with Pydantic AI for typed agents. Evals and observability: Pydantic Evals and Logfire Data: PostgreSQL with pgvector Cloud: GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Tasks), Docker, GitHub Actions What do we offer? Competitive base salary and annual bonus linked to your performance / OKRs Attractive benefits including health & wellbeing allowance, work-from-home budget, learning & coaching benefits, etc. Flexible hybrid working model with 3 days per week in our Amsterdam office Healthy work-life balance allowing for planability and personal commitments Chance to grow with the company gaining increasing responsibilities, supported by lots of coaching and a feedback-driven approach Tremendous learning and career progression opportunities International environment with hubs in New York, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Warsaw, and Bangalore Culture of trust, ownership and standard of excellence and a fun working atmosphere with regular outings and events Post product-market fit and aspiring unicorn status - this is an excellent time to join & grow with us! About the role Every customer's path through DataSnipper, from first sign-up to first agent run to renewal, runs on systems your team owns. We are hiring an Engineering Manager in our Amsterdam office to lead Billing & Monetization : how customers get in, what they are entitled to, and how AI usage turns into revenue. Why DataSnipper? The hardest AI problems aren't about getting an answer fast. They're about getting one people can trust. We believe trust is essential to how society works. Every day, we rely on information that's been independently verified, from financial statements to the products we buy, to the sustainability claims companies make. Behind that trust are audit and finance professionals who examine evidence, verify information and hold organizations accountable. At DataSnipper, we build AI solutions that empowers those professionals. By making evidence easier to trace and verify, we help them focus on the judgment and expertise that make their work so important. For our product and engineering team, this is where things get exciting. In audit, a plausible answer isn't good enough. Every output must be explainable and traceable back to its source. We've just launched a brand-new agentic platform, Alwin by DataSnipper. AI agents running in the cloud across hundreds of documents at once, reasoning across PDF, Word and Excel, with a full audit trail behind every step. Measure activation and time-to-value, and remove friction with Product and Design. Continuously improve on the admin experience to delight and empower our internal users. Turn commercial strategy into software. Partner with Product, Finance, Sales and Customer Success to shape pricing, packaging and licensing models. Set the bar for AI-assisted engineering.
