About the role : At the heart of our offering is a versatile software platform for orchestrating complex robotic systems, from industrial robot arms and mobile manipulators to humanoids. We bring it into real production environments with international customers and delivery partners, often in applications nobody has automated before. As Technical Lead, you are one of the people we turn to when it matters most. When a critical project hits a wall, whether the problem is technical, organizational, or both, you step in, get to the root of it, and get it back on track. You work at the staff level alongside product and project management, and your judgment shapes what we build: which problems the platform solves next, how projects are scoped, and where the technical boundaries lie. Your Responsibilities : Take technical ownership of our most critical customer projects and turn around those that are off track. Diagnose problems across the whole system: robot hardware, controls, perception, AI models, software, and integration. Make the call on technical direction when there is no obvious answer, and stand behind it with customers, partners, and management. Step into project leadership where needed: re-plan scope, reset expectations, and get the team moving again. Shape the product roadmap with what you learn in the field, and turn one-off solutions into platform capabilities. Challenge and sharpen the project scope early, before commitments are made, together with Sales, Pre-Sales, and project management. Act as a technical counterpart for senior customer and partner stakeholders. Coach engineers across teams, and raise the technical bar by example. Essential Skills Master's degree or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable field. 8+ years of hands-on experience in robotics, gained in a startup, a research institute, or a comparable environment where you had to cover a broad range of topics yourself. Deep technical knowledge across several of these: motion planning and control, perception and computer vision, robot learning or AI models, real-time and embedded systems, and software architecture. A track record of solving hard problems in real deployments, not just in the lab. Confident in taking on project management responsibility when the situation calls for it. Clear communicator who can explain complex technical situations to engineers, customers, and management alike. Calm, pragmatic, and decisive under pressure. Fluent English; willingness to travel to customer sites when a project needs you. Beneficial Skills Fluent German; Mandarin is a plus. Experience with humanoids, mobile manipulation, or Vision-Language-Action models. Experience in a product company where customer projects drive platform development. Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, machinery, and functional safety What we offer A dynamic high-tech company, combined with financial soundness and world-class investors. Join an interdisciplinary, international team with 60+ different nationalities in a collaborative work environment. Lots of development opportunities as we continue to grow. Challenging tasks and impactful projects alongside experts that enable professional and personal growth. Corporate Benefits Program covering health, mobility, and learning for 100€ net per month. Modern office facilities with a rooftop terrace overlooking Munich, free drinks & fruits, and regular company events contribute to a good working environment About us Agile Robots SE is an international high-tech company based in Munich, Germany with a production site in Kaufbeuren and more than 3500 employees worldwide. Our mission is to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and robotics by developing systems that combine state-of-the-art force-moment-sensing and world-leading image-processing technology. This unique combination of technologies allows us to provide user-friendly and affordable robotic solutions that enable intelligent precision assembly.
