Who we are Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale. Working at Samsara means you'll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that's shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you'll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term. About the role: Want to build the data foundation powering AI and self-serve analytics at scale? As part of Samsara's Marketing Data and Analytics (MDA) Engineering team, you will shape the technical roadmap alongside our BI and Data Science peers. You will architect core Databricks pipelines, Gold Layer tables, and semantic models, turning ambitious, ambiguous business challenges into high-value data products, autonomous agents, and cross-functional automation. This role is open to candidates residing in the US. You should apply if: You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact – helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely. You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won't be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment. You're energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers. You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-calibre team that will encourage you to do your best.  In this role, you will: Partner on defining the strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for MDA's data and AI foundation. Architect and own Samsara's marketing data infrastructure: ETL/ELT pipelines, Databricks Gold Layer tables, and the core data models that power segmentation, targeting, automation, and analytics. Design the semantic layers, data dictionaries, and structured documentation that enable self-serve BI and conversational analytics, partnering with the BI team to ensure core sales and marketing KPIs are built on trusted, well-modeled data. Translate ambiguous business questions from Marketing, Sales, and R&D into clear requirements and scalable solutions, working autonomously without dedicated PM support and influencing decisions with data and sound reasoning. Lead complex, cross-team initiatives end to end: stand up new data pipelines and integrations quickly, manage risk across interdependent teams, and own the reliability and data quality of what ships. Serve as the senior technical lead for the team's hardest problems: raise the bar for engineering quality and code review, remove bottlenecks that slow multiple teams, and mentor engineers and analysts.  Drive the strategic use of AI to solve ambiguous, high-impact problems: build AI-enabled data products and agents, with the integrations, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation practices that keep them reliable and trustworthy. Identify and automate manual workflows with AI across Marketing and GTM teams, taking ideas from concept to prototype to production and influencing org roadmaps. Ship high-quality Python and SQL, increasingly by directing agentic coding tools, while holding a high bar for reviewing and verifying AI-generated work before it reaches production. Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices. Minimum requirements for the role: 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or AI engineering, including deep hands-on data engineering experience. Expert-level Python and SQL, with strong hands-on data modeling and DBT experience. Deep experience with data warehouse and lakehouse architectures, ETL/ELT, and the modern data stack, including hands-on Databricks (or similar, such as Snowflake or BigQuery). Experience building semantic layers and structured documentation optimized for AI ingestion and agentic workflows. Agentic coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) are part of your regular workflow, and you verify and take ownership of AI-generated output. Experience building, shipping, evaluating, and monitoring LLM or agent systems in production. Track record of leading complex, cross-team data initiatives, including independent requirements gathering with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience supporting Marketing, Sales, or Product teams. An ideal candidate also has: Experience working with Databricks and building AI Agents within the ecosystem.  Software engineering background beyond data or AI engineering, with a track record of turning ambiguous, unfamiliar problems into well-architected, delivered solutions. Expertise in data visualization and building dashboards for sales and marketing KPIs. Familiarity with go-to-market data and systems: CRM (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation, web analytics, and MarTech tools. Experience building interactive applications with Streamlit, Claude workflows, or web frameworks. Data science, machine learning, or predictive analytics experience. Comfort working in an exploratory environment, testing and iterating on new data sources and methodologies. The compensation range shown spans approved pay zones for this role. In this role, you will be the analytical engine supporting various Operations functions and initiatives, translating complex operational data into the insights and narratives that drive performance, service quality, and member experience. This role sits within a broader data organization and supports stakeholders across Frontline and Backline Operations Teams, Workforce Management, and Customer Experience teams. You will help operational leaders better understand performance and identify bottlenecks by architecting comprehensive reporting frameworks and performing deep-dive diagnostic analyses to uncover the 'why' behind our metrics. You will work across a diverse spectrum of operational datasets—including omnichannel contact data, IVR and chatbot interactions, customer experience (CX) sentiment metrics, and agent productivity performance. This is a strong fit for someone who thrives at sitting in the intersection of business operations and data analytics. You have a talent for building deep partnerships to understand operational needs, a passion for building reporting and analytical frameworks from the ground up, and a track record of leveraging modern AI tools to work faster and smarter to pave the strategic roadmap for our Operations team. What You'll Do Serve as a thought partner to leadership — helping define what operational excellence looks like through data. Partner with Data Engineering to define business logic and data requirements, ensuring that upstream data collection is structured to support accurate, scalable downstream analytics. Develop reporting frameworks that unify data from multiple sources ( ex. customer experience metrics, contact center systems, agent productivity tracking, workforce management, and survey tools ) into cohesive, actionable insights. Lead deep-dive diagnostic analyses—including variance and root cause investigations—to uncover performance drivers and identify opportunities to reduce member friction or operational inefficiency. Leverage cutting-edge AI tools (such as Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, and AI coding assistants) to accelerate analytical workflows, automate query/script building, and deliver faster, smarter insights. Proactively identify emerging trends and 'unknown unknowns' within operational data to alert leadership of risks or opportunities before they impact member experience or SLAs. Translate analytical findings into strategic recommendations that influence process design, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives. Lead data storytelling efforts, ensuring insights are communicated clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and other BI teams to enhance data accessibility and automate recurring analytics. Mentor junior analysts and cross-functional partners on best practices for data-driven performance management, visualization, and AI-assisted analytics . What You'll Need Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (Master's preferred). 5+ years of experience in data analytics, operations analytics, or business intelligence—ideally within a high-growth FinTech or regulated financial environment. Proven experience analyzing complex operational datasets, such as contact data, customer experience data, and agent productivity metrics. Advanced SQL skills with the ability to write complex, performant queries to extract insights from large-scale data warehouses. Advanced proficiency in Tableau (highly preferred) or other visualization tools (Looker, Power BI) to build scalable, automated dashboarding suites. Demonstrated ability to be on the leading edge of modern AI analytics tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT) to optimize workflows, code more efficiently, and deliver impactful insights faster. Proven track record of "building from the ground up"—specifically designing new reporting frameworks, defining KPIs, and establishing data "sources of truth." Elite communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex data and influence non-technical stakeholders and leadership. Strong business acumen and a passion for improving member experiences through data-driven decision-making. Comfort navigating ambiguity and working in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities and cross-functional dependencies. Nice to Have Experience in business banking, commercial banking, or fintech with an understanding of lending, payments, or risk operations. Familiarity with operational performance management, workforce planning, service operations, risk operations, or process optimization. Experience working in regulated environments with attention to governance, controls, and auditability. Familiarity with Python, R, or other analytical tools. Full Stack Engineer - Trust and Safety
InternshipFully RemoteMid$187,680 - $187,680 / Year
typescriptgorailsgcpkubernetessql+11

What's in it for you?  Ready to make a serious impact? Millions of people already rely on Calendly, and we're still in the midst of exciting product growth — it's a fantastic time to join us. Everything you'll work on here will accelerate your career to the next level. If you want to learn, grow, and do the best work of your life alongside the best people you've ever worked with, then we hope you'll consider allowing Calendly to be a part of your professional journey. About the team & opportunity Millions of people use Calendly to book meetings, and most of that happens on public booking pages where anyone with a link can schedule time. That openness is what makes Calendly easy to use, and it's also what makes it a target. The Trust & Safety team keeps Calendly safe without slowing anyone down. We protect everyone who interacts with Calendly: the hosts who share their links, the invitees who book with them, and the email and SMS providers and partners who rely on us to send responsibly. Our work covers three areas: preventing and responding to abuse, protecting the deliverability and compliance of the messages Calendly sends, and keeping messaging costs predictable as the platform grows. Most of our problems are adversarial. We often can't rely on knowing who someone is, so we judge behavior, patterns, and content instead. Attackers change tactics all the time, so we build signals that last from one attack to the next. And we take false positives seriously, because blocking a real customer costs more than letting a spammer through. Engineers work closely with our Trust & Safety Operations team, who see abuse first and shape what we build. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager for the Trust & Safety team. A day in the life of a Full Stack Engineer at Calendly On a typical day, you will be working on:  Building and improving the systems that detect and stop abuse across sign-up, booking, and messaging, such as spam, phishing, bots, and fraudulent SMS traffic. Improving the reliability, deliverability, and compliance of the email and SMS notifications Calendly sends. Shipping new detection carefully: measuring how it performs on real traffic before it acts on accounts, and weighing false positives against false negatives. Responding to active abuse, including during on-call, by stopping the damage fast, then replacing quick fixes with durable ones. Building tools that help our Trust & Safety Operations team review accounts faster and understand why the system took each action. Partnering with Product, Operations, and Data to define requirements and measure the impact of what we ship. Working with other product teams to add protections to the flows they own. Reviewing implementation plans and pull requests, and sharing what you learn with the team. What do we need from you? 3+ years of professional software development experience at a SaaS or technology company, including building and running production systems. Strong backend skills: building services, APIs, and data-heavy workflows in a service-oriented architecture. Experience with Rails, Node/TypeScript, Go, or a comparable language or framework, and a willingness to work across more than one. Comfort with relational databases and SQL, and with using data to check whether a change actually worked. An analytical, curious mindset: you think about how a system could be misused, not only how it's supposed to be used. Good judgment about trade-offs, such as stopping bad actors without adding friction for real customers. A commitment to clean, reliable, maintainable code, thoughtful testing, and shipping in small increments. Clear communication with engineers and non-engineers alike, including Operations and Support partners. Comfort and skill with AI tools in your engineering work, including reviewing their output critically. Availability to take part in an on-call rotation for critical services. Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time. Nice to have Experience in trust and safety, fraud, spam, or abuse prevention. Experience with email or SMS delivery, such as deliverability, sender reputation, or messaging compliance. Experience with bot protection, rate limiting, or third-party risk and verification services. Experience building rules engines, risk scoring, or ML-backed decisions in production. Experience using LLMs to classify or moderate user-generated content. Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, or Redis. Tier 1 Salary Hiring Range $187,680 — $227,424 USD Tier 2 Salary Hiring Range $172,040 — $208,472 USD Tier 3 Salary Hiring Range $156,400 — $189,520 USD The ranges listed above are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change. Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee's starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity. Base salary is just one component of Calendly's total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for equity awards, and competitive benefits. Eligible Sales employees also qualify for a Sales Incentive program. Calendly uses the zip code of an employee's remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows: Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA. Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2 If you are an individual with a disability and would like to request a reasonable accommodation as part of the application or recruiting process, please let your Recruiter know when first connecting with them. Calendly is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are located in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and West Virginia, you will not be eligible for employment. GustoSan Francisco, CA - Hybrid (Hybrid)7 days ago
InternshipHybridMid$185,000 - $205,000 / Year
pythonsqlsnowflakedatabricksdbtllm+19

About Gusto At Gusto, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve. All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build Gusto should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy . AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process. About the Role Gusto's Finance team is rebuilding planning, forecasting, and analysis with AI at the center. As Staff FP&A AI Architect, you'll design and lead the technical and process architecture that turns FP&A from a manual, spreadsheet-driven cycle into an automated, insight-generating function. You're a hybrid: deep enough in finance to understand driver-based planning, variance analysis, and board reporting, and deep enough in data and AI to design the systems that automate them. You'll partner with the CFO org, FP&A, Accounting, Data, and Engineering. About the Team This is a new role on the Enterprise AIT team, which drives the intelligent transformation of Gusto's enterprise systems by integrating AI, automation, and advanced analytics across internal applications. The team works closely with Finance, Business Ops, IT, and Security, and this role brings dedicated AI architecture capacity to FP&A and the CFO org. What You'll Do Set the strategy: Define the multi-year architecture and roadmap for AI-enabled planning, forecasting, and reporting, prioritizing use cases by value, feasibility, and risk. Build forecasting systems: Architect driver-based, ML-assisted forecasts for revenue, headcount, opex, and cash, combining statistical models with LLM workflows and benchmarking against human forecasts. Automate analysis: Build agentic workflows for variance commentary, flux analysis, scenario modeling, board and QBR narratives, and ad-hoc "ask the numbers" questions. Own the finance data foundation: Work with Data Engineering on governed data models connecting the GL, billing, CRM, HRIS, and planning tools, so AI outputs are traceable and auditable. Embed controls and trust: Establish evals, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, lineage, and audit trails that meet SOX, security, and privacy requirements. Evaluate and select tools: Drive build-vs-buy decisions across planning platforms, LLM providers, and orchestration frameworks. Lead through influence: Mentor analysts and engineers, create reusable patterns and templates, and drive AI adoption across Finance. Measure impact: Report on cycle-time reduction, forecast accuracy, analyst capacity freed, and decision latency. What We're Looking For Required 10+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, finance systems, data science, or finance engineering, including 3+ years designing or leading AI/ML or advanced automation for finance Strong FP&A fundamentals: driver-based modeling, operating plans, rolling forecasts, SaaS or fintech metrics, variance analysis Hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic systems (prompting, RAG, tool use, evals) and classical forecasting (time series, regression, ensembles) Proficiency in SQL and Python, a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, dbt), and BI tools Experience with enterprise planning platforms and ERP/GL systems Track record shipping production-grade solutions under SOX, data governance, and security review Exceptional communication: able to explain model behavior to a CFO and system design to an engineer Nice to have Payroll, HR tech, fintech, or SaaS finance experience Experience building internal tools with Engineering Familiarity with MCP-style integrations and AI governance frameworks CPA, CFA, or an advanced quantitative degree Ideal Attributes Finance-fluent builder, systems thinker, rigorous about trust (evals, lineage, and human-in-the-loop as design requirements), pragmatic on build vs. buy, influencer and teacher, and outcome-driven. AI Fluency Expectations Expert/Transformer level, expected to set AI standards for Finance. Advanced in LLM platforms (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini), agent frameworks and MCP, and Python/SQL; proficient in Snowflake/Databricks/dbt, planning platforms (Anaplan, Adaptive, Pigment), ERP/GL (NetSuite), and BI tools.   Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $185,000-$205,000 /yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $225,000-$250,000 /yr for San Francisco, Seattle & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.   At Gusto, we don't use titles the traditional way, as a signal of rank or hierarchy. Instead, our titles describe two things at once — your craft (what you do, e.g. Engineering, Design) and your scope of ownership (what you're accountable for) — which is why you'll see something like "Head of X" instead of a rank word like "Director" that tells you neither. Because of this, the title on this posting may look different from what you'd expect based on the scope and seniority of the role, and from how similar roles are typically titled elsewhere. If you have questions about how this role compares to your current title or level, your recruiter can help translate. Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale. Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.  When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees. Reliable, consistent presence: We expect regular and predictable attendance, whether you're working in-office, hybrid, or fully remote, so that you stay closely connected to your team, customers, and stakeholders in real time and ensure colleagues and customers receive the timely support and responsiveness they deserve. Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Gusto.  Gusto is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Gusto considers qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. Gusto is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures. We want to see our candidates perform to the best of their ability. If you require a medical or religious accommodation at any time throughout your candidate journey, please fill out this form and a member of our team will get in touch with you. Gusto takes security and protection of your personal information very seriously. Please review our Fraudulent Activity Disclaimer . Personal information collected and processed as part of your Gusto application will be subject to  Gusto's Applicant Privacy Notice .
