Deep knowledge of Lightning Experience customisation: App Builder, Dynamic Forms, page layouts, console apps and Flows. Experience with Salesforce DX, Git and a CI/CD or deployment process. A UX mindset: you start from user problems, can explain design decisions, and can take feedback from non-technical users. Experience with SLDS, Figma or similar prototyping tools, and accessibility (WCAG) principles. Design and prototype improved layouts, workflows and components, and validate them with reps before building. Build with LWC Develop custom Lightning Web Components (and supporting Apex where needed) that replace clunky standard layouts with focused, usable interfaces. Configure and extend Lightning App Builder pages, Dynamic Forms, Dynamic Actions and console apps to deliver a consistent experience across teams and regions. Build reusable components and follow SLDS conventions so the UI stays consistent and maintainable after your contract ends. Make it stick Run feedback sessions, usability tests and pilots with reps and managers, and iterate on the results. Track adoption, page performance and user satisfaction to show what each release changed. Create release notes, short walkthroughs and handover documentation so changes land well and the team can maintain what you build. Work as part of the global team Work within the global team's standards for source control, code review, sandboxes and release management. Partner with admins, architects and data teams so UI changes fit the wider data model, security model and automation. Pass on what you learn about Lightning UX patterns and LWC best practices to the wider team. What You Will Need Must have Strong, demonstrable experience building Lightning Web Components in production. Solid Apex, SOQL and Salesforce data model knowledge to support your components. Clear communication and the ability to work independently across time zones in a global team. Nice to have Portfolio or examples of Salesforce UI work you've shipped (screenshots or demos are ideal). Experience with SLDS, Figma or similar prototyping tools, and accessibility (WCAG) principles. Experience in Sales Cloud, especially rep-facing workflows such as opportunity management, account planning and pipeline views. Jest testing for LWC, and Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, JavaScript Developer I, Platform App Builder). Experience with performance profiling and optimisation in Lightning pages. What Success Looks Like (12 Months) Month 3: UX audit complete and a prioritised roadmap agreed with Sales leadership. Month 6: First wave of redesigned pages and components live for a pilot group, with adoption and feedback baselined. Month 12: Redesigned experience rolled out to target teams, a maintained component library in place, and full documentation handed to the global team. Welcome to Planet. We believe in using space to help life on Earth. Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history. This constellation delivers an unprecedented dataset of empirical information via a revolutionary cloud-based platform to authoritative figures in commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. We are both a space company and data company all rolled into one. Customers and users across the globe use Planet's data to develop new technologies, drive revenue, power research, and solve our world's toughest obstacles. As we control every component of hardware design, manufacturing, data processing, and software engineering, our office is a truly inspiring mix of experts from a variety of domains. We have a people-centric approach toward culture and community and we strive to iterate in a way that puts our team members first and prepares our company for growth. Join Planet and be a part of our mission to change the way people see the world. Planet is a global company with employees working remotely world wide and joining us from offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and The Netherlands. About the Role: The design team at Planet is looking for a Senior Product Designer to shape Planet's platform experience (insights.planet.com - free trial available). In this role, you will be responsible for defining the core user journeys across our platform, addressing the needs of different user types (from admins, to developers, to end users). With a relentless focus on those users, you will define jobs-to-be-done and design end-to-end user flows across web frontends and agentic workflows. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to decompose these workflows into scalable, reusable UX building blocks, ultimately crafting a cohesive, user-centric platform experience. The perfect candidate brings a track record of designing sophisticated, data-heavy geospatial applications. This role is full stack, in the design sense: you take a problem from discovery with users all the way to designing and building the interfaces, side by side with our engineers. This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin or Haarlem office 3 days per week. Impact You'll Own: Product Design Ownership: Lead the end-to-end process from discovery and prototyping to high-fidelity design. Geospatial Interface Design: Create intuitive, powerful geospatial interfaces that translate complex data into actionable insights. User Research: Gather feedback and conduct user interviews in close collaboration with product partners. UI Architecture: Define and architect the interaction patterns and design system for Planet's platform. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product and engineering to ensure top-tier design quality. Culture: Help build and elevate Planet's design culture. What You Bring: 6+ years designing complex digital products, with a track record of shipping technical, SaaS, or B2B software end to end. Bachelor's degree in design or an equivalent field. A portfolio with geospatial or data analytics work: interactive maps, layered geospatial data and time series (time sliders, change over time, comparisons), plus the statistics and charts that turn data into an insight. Solid core craft in UX/UI, interaction design, prototyping, accessibility, and visual design, plus Figma and enterprise design systems. An AI-native way of working. You can prototype in code with AI coding assistants, and you're comfortable with Git and merge requests. Research you run yourself: user interviews and usability testing, synthesized into clear product direction. Comfort with ambiguity. You take vague, complex problems and drive them to a validated solution without daily oversight. A dynamic, iterative, low-ego way of working with PMs, engineers, and other designers. What Makes You Stand Out: Experience designing for developers, data scientists, or AI agents. Hands-on with remote sensing analysis and familiarity with geospatial standards. You enjoy meeting customers and are open to travel within Europe. Experience helping a team adopt new ways of working. Application Deadline: 11:45p / 23:45 CET on the date stated below.
