Senior Backend Engineer (all genders)
Full TimeOn-siteSenior
pythonfastapiawsci/cddevopssqlalchemy+2

Your mission Build the backbone of intelligent energy systems. You'll develop backend systems that turn complex optimization algorithms into reliable, real-time decisions for industrial energy systems. From the core APIs of our optimization platform to integrations with energy management systems, you make sure our platform runs fast, stable and reliable. Your work lets our customers intelligently control and optimize battery storage, photovoltaic systems, charging infrastructure and other energy assets. This isn't a job building standard CRUD applications. You'll work on the technological core of our product, where architecture decisions directly shape performance, scalability and the success of our solution. Develop backend systems You'll design, build and improve the central services of our optimization platform. You'll work on core APIs, orchestration logic and the interfaces between our systems, always aiming for robust, high-performing and maintainable solutions. Own APIs and integrations You'll integrate external energy management systems (EMS), partner solutions and customer systems. You'll build clean, well-documented APIs and handle the problems that come up in real-world use, such as incomplete data, retry mechanisms and outages of individual systems. Help shape infrastructure and operations You take responsibility for keeping our services reliable in production. From CI/CD and our cloud infrastructure (Heroku / AWS) to monitoring, alerting and performance tuning, you keep everything running smoothly. Make systems scalable You design systems from the start to grow with our customers. You spot bottlenecks early, improve observability, and keep our platform stable and fast as complexity grows. Deliver features end to end You'll work in a small, cross-functional team with a strong on-site focus. You'll own features through the whole development process, from the first idea through design and implementation to deployment and monitoring. Raise the technical bar You bring your experience to the table and set high technical standards. You help shape architecture decisions, share knowledge with the team, and help backend engineering at EnopAI keep getting better. Your profile At least 7 years of experience building and running production backend systems. Excellent Python skills and solid experience with FastAPI, asyncio, relational databases and frameworks such as SQLAlchemy. AI-first mindset: you use AI and AI agents as a normal part of your daily development work to speed up boilerplate, tests and refactoring, so you have more time for architecture, product and hard technical problems. Cloud and DevOps experience: you're confident working in cloud environments and familiar with CI/CD, infrastructure as code and running modern backend systems. A strong sense for architecture. You build solutions that work reliably today and still scale tomorrow, and you know when pragmatism matters more than perfection. Founder mindset: you take ownership, think like an entrepreneur and make technical decisions proactively instead of just implementing requirements. You enjoy working with strong engineers, give constructive feedback and hold your own work and the team's to a high standard. You value the pace of a small team and like working on-site in Munich, because fast decisions and close collaboration make a real difference to you. You speak fluent, business-level German and English. Nice to have Experience with InfluxDB or other time-series databases. Interest in energy systems, optimization algorithms or mathematical models. Senior software developer (C# / .NET, Data Analysis)
Full TimeOn-siteSenior
asp.net.netazureci/cdmachine learningrest+2

Senior software developer (C# / .NET, Data Analysis) Build the software that turns ultrasonic inspection data into safety-critical pipeline decisions worldwide, and lift the team around you. Location: Utrecht region (head office in Tricht, Gelderland) About Intero Integrity Intero Integrity is an internationally operating specialist in the inspection, maintenance and emission monitoring of pipelines and industrial assets. We develop our inspection technology entirely in-house: from ultrasonic measurement systems and FPGA signal processing to the software our analysts use to interpret hundreds of kilometres of pipeline data. The inspection results our software produces are used for safety-critical decisions about the integrity of pipelines and industrial installations such as heat exchangers. Reliability and correctness are therefore not a nice-to-have, but an absolute requirement. We operate across Europe, North America and the Middle East. Our software products sit at the heart of that work: they are used every day by our data analysis organisation around the world. Whatever you build here has a direct, global impact. The opportunity This is a role for a senior engineer who enjoys both sides of the craft: building excellent software, and helping people around you get better. You will work hands-on on the C#/.NET software behind our data analysis, turning large volumes of ultrasonic inspection data into reliable insights that our organisation uses worldwide. What makes it attractive is the mix. You mentor and guide our internal developers, setting an example in how we design, review and test. At the same time you work side by side with our external development partners. Learning from them, challenging them and making sure the work meets a high bar. You'll grow as an engineer and as a mentor, often in the same week. Because our data is used for safety-critical decisions, a strong sense of software quality runs through the role: it shapes how you design, how you review and where you set the standard for the team. If you value knowledge transfer and a healthy engineering culture as much as writing good code, you will feel at home here. What you will do Hands-on software development • You design, build and maintain C# applications for the analysis and reporting of inspection data • You work with large volumes of ultrasonic signal data and binary data streams • You build web applications and REST APIs on the ASP.NET platform • You contribute to bringing machine learning / Human-in-the-Loop capabilities into the data analysis workflow • You work with cloud-native services, preferably on Azure • You contribute to test strategies at functional, integration and system level, with an eye for the safety-critical use of the software • You work closely with hardware engineers, test engineers and domain specialists (UT inspection) Mentorship & working with partners • You mentor and coach our internal developers and help them grow their technical skills • You lead by example in code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing • You work side by side with external development partners, challenging their choices and making sure the work meets a high standard • You help establish and document engineering standards: coding guidelines, review processes, testing strategies and release policy • You make sure design decisions and domain knowledge are documented and transferable, so the team can operate independently • You help shape a development culture where quality and continuous improvement are the norm What you bring Technical expertise • Extensive experience with C# and the .NET platform • Solid knowledge of software architecture, design principles and design patterns • Experience building web applications and REST APIs (ASP.NET) • Experience writing maintainable, testable, high-quality software • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD • The ability to mentor others and lift the level of a team • Good communication skills and the ability to clearly substantiate technical choices A plus • Experience with cloud development, preferably Azure • Experience with machine learning and/or image recognition, and operationalising ML in production • Affinity with signal processing, measurement data and data streams, preferably in an industrial or technical context • Experience with WPF and complex desktop applications • Experience in a domain where software quality and reliability have direct impact (industrial automation, medical software, measurement & inspection or similar) When do we see you as a senior? For us, seniority goes beyond years of experience or technical skill. We are looking for someone who understands that technical choices affect the product, the organisation and our customers, and who actively takes responsibility for that. You: • Form an independent view on architecture and technology • Think critically about requirements, assumptions and existing ways of working • Take responsibility for quality, also outside your own code, and recognise that in a safety-critical domain the bar is higher • Consciously build team knowledge: you document, explain and help colleagues grow • Are comfortable in an environment where not everything is fixed yet, and know how to bring structure to it • Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team What we offer A senior role with real influence on our software products and how we build them, the chance to mentor and grow a team, and the variety of working alongside experienced external partners, in a domain where technology genuinely matters. Salary & terms of employment • Gross monthly salary between € 5.328,- and € 6.715,- based on a 40-hour week, depending on knowledge and experience • Year-end bonus, dependent on company results • 25 holiday days per year • Hybrid working (3 days per week at the office in Tricht as standard) and flexible working hours • Collective pension scheme, with Intero contributing 50% of the premium • Laptop and phone provided Working environment • Technically challenging problems at the intersection of software, hardware and data • Collaboration with experienced specialists across a range of technical disciplines • Free fruit at work, access to the Intero Gym, company fitness options and a bike leasing scheme • An international, technically driven working environment with plenty of room for ownership and initiative Ready to build with us? Do you want to write excellent software, help a team grow around you and work alongside strong external partners? Then we would like to meet you. Send your application and CV or LinkedIn profile to Questions about this vacancy? Get in touch with our Corporate Recruiter Veroniek Smits at the same address. Headquarters: Remote - NA, APAC, EMEA PlanetScale is growing rapidly and reinventing the database space. The PlanetScale platform offers both Postgres and Vitess clusters. Vitess, an open-source database clustering system for horizontal scaling of MySQL, enables businesses to efficiently handle large-scale data workloads — without sacrificing developer experience. Our customers entrust us with what is often their most precious digital asset, their data, so the stakes couldn't be higher. We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our core engineering team and help us build the next generation of database infrastructure. What's the job to be done? You will advise and handle support requests from enterprise customers on the PlanetScale platform. You will become a customer-facing subject-matter expert for enterprise customers on the PlanetScale platform. You will identify product gaps in a customer-specific context and work with Technical Account Management, Engineering and Sales Engineering teams to prioritize and escalate them. You will be part of an on call rotation for high priority issues. These attributes best describe you… You are comfortable in front of customers, empathetic but understanding when to push back to help customers become successful on their own. You have excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills; with a mix of enough experience and intuition to zero in on root-causes for bugs that can leave others stumped. You are comfortable stepping outside your comfort zone. Be it delving into unfamiliar code in Vitess, one of its dependencies, or a random MySQL connector, written in a language you may not know (yet!). Working with code as your main source of documentation doesn't fluster you, and you are happy to help add/correct it as necessary where it may be inaccurate. You can operate independently, but you know when you are in too deep and need to ask for help. You know how to work under pressure in times of urgency. We and our customers both take issues with their data platform seriously. What you will need Experience supporting production databases and applications, preferably at scale. Experience with database internals and peformance tuning, specifically for PostgreSQL and MySQL databases Working knowledge of Kubernetes. Strong ability to communicate and deal directly with customers, whether in email, Slack, video conference, or in person. What else will help you be successful Knowledge of common application deployment platforms and frameworks. Eg Python, Go, Node, PHP Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and debugging tools Contributions to open-source projects, especially in the database or infrastructure space Why PlanetScale We're redefining how high-growth companies manage data at scale—and we work with some of the most exciting brands in gaming, consumer tech, and B2B SaaS. As a Software Engineer, you'll be at the core of building the platform that powers world-class apps used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide. PlanetScale is a profitable company with a philosophy centered around building small teams of p99 individuals and is recognized as one of the fastest growing companies in America. At PlanetScale we believe in supporting people to do their best work and thrive no matter the location. Our mission is to build a diverse, equitable, and inclusive company. We strive to build an inclusive environment where all people feel that they are equally respected and valued, whether they are a candidate or an employee. We welcome applicants of any educational background, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age, citizenship, socioeconomic status, disability, pregnancy status, and veteran status. If you have a disability, please let us know if there's any way we can make the interview process better for you; we're happy to accommodate! Total Compensation and Pay Transparency An employee's total compensation consists of base salary + variable comp where appropriate + benefits + equity. A member of our Talent Acquisition team will be happy to answer any further questions when we engage with you to begin the interview process. Salary range: US $120,000 - $200,000 To apply: https://weworkremotely.com/remote-jobs/planetscale-enterprise-support-engineer
