Senior software developer (C# / .NET, Data Analysis) Build the software that turns ultrasonic inspection data into safety-critical pipeline decisions worldwide, and lift the team around you. Location: Utrecht region (head office in Tricht, Gelderland) About Intero Integrity Intero Integrity is an internationally operating specialist in the inspection, maintenance and emission monitoring of pipelines and industrial assets. We develop our inspection technology entirely in-house: from ultrasonic measurement systems and FPGA signal processing to the software our analysts use to interpret hundreds of kilometres of pipeline data. The inspection results our software produces are used for safety-critical decisions about the integrity of pipelines and industrial installations such as heat exchangers. Reliability and correctness are therefore not a nice-to-have, but an absolute requirement. We operate across Europe, North America and the Middle East. Our software products sit at the heart of that work: they are used every day by our data analysis organisation around the world. Whatever you build here has a direct, global impact. The opportunity This is a role for a senior engineer who enjoys both sides of the craft: building excellent software, and helping people around you get better. You will work hands-on on the C#/.NET software behind our data analysis, turning large volumes of ultrasonic inspection data into reliable insights that our organisation uses worldwide. What makes it attractive is the mix. You mentor and guide our internal developers, setting an example in how we design, review and test. At the same time you work side by side with our external development partners. Learning from them, challenging them and making sure the work meets a high bar. You'll grow as an engineer and as a mentor, often in the same week. Because our data is used for safety-critical decisions, a strong sense of software quality runs through the role: it shapes how you design, how you review and where you set the standard for the team. If you value knowledge transfer and a healthy engineering culture as much as writing good code, you will feel at home here. What you will do Hands-on software development • You design, build and maintain C# applications for the analysis and reporting of inspection data • You work with large volumes of ultrasonic signal data and binary data streams • You build web applications and REST APIs on the ASP.NET platform • You contribute to bringing machine learning / Human-in-the-Loop capabilities into the data analysis workflow • You work with cloud-native services, preferably on Azure • You contribute to test strategies at functional, integration and system level, with an eye for the safety-critical use of the software • You work closely with hardware engineers, test engineers and domain specialists (UT inspection) Mentorship & working with partners • You mentor and coach our internal developers and help them grow their technical skills • You lead by example in code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing • You work side by side with external development partners, challenging their choices and making sure the work meets a high standard • You help establish and document engineering standards: coding guidelines, review processes, testing strategies and release policy • You make sure design decisions and domain knowledge are documented and transferable, so the team can operate independently • You help shape a development culture where quality and continuous improvement are the norm What you bring Technical expertise • Extensive experience with C# and the .NET platform • Solid knowledge of software architecture, design principles and design patterns • Experience building web applications and REST APIs (ASP.NET) • Experience writing maintainable, testable, high-quality software • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD • The ability to mentor others and lift the level of a team • Good communication skills and the ability to clearly substantiate technical choices A plus • Experience with cloud development, preferably Azure • Experience with machine learning and/or image recognition, and operationalising ML in production • Affinity with signal processing, measurement data and data streams, preferably in an industrial or technical context • Experience with WPF and complex desktop applications • Experience in a domain where software quality and reliability have direct impact (industrial automation, medical software, measurement & inspection or similar) When do we see you as a senior? For us, seniority goes beyond years of experience or technical skill. We are looking for someone who understands that technical choices affect the product, the organisation and our customers, and who actively takes responsibility for that. You: • Form an independent view on architecture and technology • Think critically about requirements, assumptions and existing ways of working • Take responsibility for quality, also outside your own code, and recognise that in a safety-critical domain the bar is higher • Consciously build team knowledge: you document, explain and help colleagues grow • Are comfortable in an environment where not everything is fixed yet, and know how to bring structure to it • Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team What we offer A senior role with real influence on our software products and how we build them, the chance to mentor and grow a team, and the variety of working alongside experienced external partners, in a domain where technology genuinely matters. Salary & terms of employment • Gross monthly salary between € 5.328,- and € 6.715,- based on a 40-hour week, depending on knowledge and experience • Year-end bonus, dependent on company results • 25 holiday days per year • Hybrid working (3 days per week at the office in Tricht as standard) and flexible working hours • Collective pension scheme, with Intero contributing 50% of the premium • Laptop and phone provided Working environment • Technically challenging problems at the intersection of software, hardware and data • Collaboration with experienced specialists across a range of technical disciplines • Free fruit at work, access to the Intero Gym, company fitness options and a bike leasing scheme • An international, technically driven working environment with plenty of room for ownership and initiative Ready to build with us? Do you want to write excellent software, help a team grow around you and work alongside strong external partners? Then we would like to meet you. Bally's Intralot is a newly formed company established through the combination of Intralot and Bally's International Interactive, positioning the group as a top iGaming operator and a leading global provider of lottery solutions. Bally's Intralot is uniquely positioned across digital online gaming markets, lottery, iLottery, and sports betting. Operating at the intersection of technology, regulation, and entertainment. We are optimally positioned to capitalise on strong global growth trends driven by digital adoption and regulatory expansion across lottery and iGaming markets. Well, what about the team? You'll lead a new AI Engineering function that runs in two halves under one team: R&D proves what's possible in personalisation, recommendation, search and agents; a delivery layer ships it into the live product for real players. This is a founding leadership role. You'll build density around an established AI R&D nucleus, drive its technical execution, grow the engineers in it, and stay close enough to the work to lead from the front across the lobby and discovery experience and the content pipelines behind it: recommendation, contextual bandits, dynamic categorisation, advanced search, agents, and automatic content generation. It's a hands-on leadership role: you own the technical bar and the how, line-manage and grow the team, and carry enough technical weight to make the hard calls and be trusted on them. So, what will you be doing? Drive the technical execution of the AI R&D agenda: decide how problems get approached, which technical and architectural bets are worth making, and how capability gets proven across personalisation, recommendation, search and agents. Lead one team spanning R&D and delivery: line-manage, grow, and unblock the engineers, and be accountable for both proving capability and shipping it into the live product. Set the production bar and standards for AI features end to end — how experimental work crosses into hardened, observable, maintainable systems without losing its edge. Stay hands-on where it counts: lead from the front on the hard problems, pressure test the technical bets, and be credible in the code without owning delivery of every feature yourself. Own the path from validated prototype to live: real-time personalisation, recommendation, search and ranking against live traffic, within real latency budgets and reliability realities. Hold a high engineering bar on AWS and TypeScript — clean CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, testing, and LLMOps for running model-backed systems in production. Shape delivery against the roadmap with the VP, product managers, data analysts and Staff Engineers, and make the capability compound across brands rather than be rebuilt per brand. Work within Responsible Gambling and UKGC requirements, in a regulated, real money, real-time domain. And what will you need? Significant commercial software engineering experience, including experience leading technical teams or engineering functions. Strong expertise in TypeScript and Python, with a proven track record of delivering AI, machine learning or data-driven solutions into production, including recommendation engines, intelligent search, ranking systems or LLM-powered applications. Extensive experience building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS, with strong knowledge of CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability and modern engineering practices. Experience delivering high-performance, real-time systems that operate reliably at scale with demanding latency requirements. Demonstrated experience leading the successful transition of AI solutions from research or proof of concept into robust, production-ready services. Experience establishing technical standards, driving engineering excellence and mentoring or developing engineers within high-performing teams. Skills & Behaviours: A technical leader who enjoys building, mentoring and developing engineering teams while creating an environment where innovation can thrive. Able to balance experimentation with engineering discipline, making sound technical decisions that deliver long-term value. Confident leading technical discussions, influencing architecture and making complex decisions across multiple stakeholders. Passionate about building scalable, maintainable and observable AI systems using modern engineering best practices. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, data and leadership teams. Comfortable remaining hands-on with technology while providing strategic technical leadership and direction. What benefits will you get? 25 days annual leave, plus the bank holiday allowance. Health insurance. Volunteering days. Home office allowance. Wellness or Gym allowance. Flexi-block policy allowing you to work abroad for up to four weeks a year. DNA / Values: At Bally's Intralot we are driven by a set of core values that we like to call our DNA. We strive to embody our DNA and keep them at the heart of everything we do! We Win as One, we succeed together - across every location and every function. We collaborate openly, raise each other up, and share the wins. We're Powered by Curiosity, we ask questions, challenge assumptions and make space to learn and innovate. We have Fun with Purpose, we bring creativity, energy and joy to how we work and what we deliver, because when people enjoy what they do, the work is better for everyone. Our teams Embrace the Possibility, when opportunity appears, we act. When the unexpected hits, we adapt. We don't wait for change - we move towards it. At Bally's Intralot, we Guard the Game, we protect what matters most, fair play for our players, integrity for our partners, and accountability in everything we do. Equal Opportunities At Bally's Intralot, we are committed to promoting equal opportunities in employment and working conditions. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion are important to us, and we encourage a culture where everyone can be themselves at work. We believe passionately that employing a diverse workforce is central to our success, this is our superpower. We do not discriminate against employees or job applicants on the basis of race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, age, sex or sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, political opinion or disability. #LI-SJ1 Find more English Speaking Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow

Join our AI Transformation team to create new capabilities and rethink how teams across Product and Technology work. Our programme aims to help teams ship faster, improve quality, reduce the effort and cost of delivery, build products that strengthen our competitive position, and develop our people's skills. We turn promising ideas into working products and practices that teams can adopt and reuse across the business. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will be empowered to identify opportunities, propose ideas and build new products, tools and ways of working. You will take ownership of your own initiatives, from a clear hypothesis and agreed success measures through experimentation, production delivery and learning. Alongside this, you will work with engineering teams to turn their prototypes into reliable production products, own shared transformation tooling, and showcase new approaches through demos, tech talks, workshops and pairing. This role combines the creativity to see what could be different with the engineering judgement and drive to make it happen. So, what will you be doing? Originate and build new capabilities: Proactively identify opportunities across Product and Technology, turn them into practical proposals, and build products, internal tools, automations and agents that create value. Own selected initiatives from discovery through delivery, working with stakeholders to connect each idea to a clear programme outcome. Run experiments that lead to decisions: State the opportunity and hypothesis, then agree the success measure and threshold before building. Create the smallest useful experiment, use a feature flag or controlled rollout where appropriate, and measure against a control or baseline at an agreed review date. Use the evidence to scale, change or stop the work. Take prototypes into production: Deliver your own successful experiments and partner with engineering teams to productionise theirs. Resolve architecture, integration, testing, security and operational gaps, agree production-readiness criteria, and work through release and handover with the teams that will own and operate the resulting products. Improve how teams build software: Redesign planning, development, testing, review and delivery around the capabilities of AI. Build and trial approaches such as specification-driven development and agent-assisted workflows, then turn successful work into reusable skills, reference implementations, connectors and engineering patterns that teams can adapt. Own shared transformation tooling: Build and maintain the programme's shared applications, APIs, integrations and analytics on AWS, including the Radar and Tracker and connections to engineering and collaboration systems. Keep these services reliable, maintainable and useful to activity owners and programme leaders. Champion practical AI engineering: Showcase emerging approaches and techniques through regular demos, tech talks, workshops, pairing and clear written guides. Share working examples, explain trade-offs and limitations, and turn successful experiments into practices that other teams can use. Evaluate tools and approaches: Keep up with developments in AI engineering, test them against real team needs, and recommend adoption based on evidence. Consider quality, cost, security and portability, helping teams retain flexibility as tools, models and pricing change. Embed quality and responsible use: Work with Platform, SRE, Cyber and governance colleagues to build evaluation, observability, access controls and appropriate human oversight into AI-enabled services and workflows. Help teams understand failure modes and make support, recovery and ownership arrangements clear. Develop capability in others: Mentor graduate and less experienced engineers, and work with learning and enablement colleagues to address practical skills gaps. Build teams' confidence and ability to maintain what they adopt. And what will you need? Software engineering and delivery: Strong Python or TypeScript skills and experience taking prototypes into production, including APIs, cloud deployment (preferably AWS), automated testing, CI/CD and observability. Practical AI engineering: Experience building LLM applications, agents or automations, using AI coding tools effectively, and improving results through evals and error analysis. Familiarity with context, reusable skills and integrations through APIs or MCP. Initiative and product judgement: Evidence of spotting opportunities, creating useful solutions without a fully defined brief, and owning delivery from idea to outcome. Experimentation and evaluation: Ability to define hypotheses and success measures before building, run focused experiments against a baseline or control, and use evidence to decide what happens next. Sound engineering judgement: Ability to balance quality, reliability, security and cost, evaluate AI behaviour, and choose maintainable solutions with appropriate data access and human oversight. Technical evangelism and collaboration: Clear communication through demos, tech talks, workshops and written guides. Experience partnering with teams, mentoring engineers and helping others adopt effective practices. What benefits will you get? 25 days annual leave, plus the bank holiday allowance. Health insurance. Volunteering days. Home office allowance. Wellness or Gym allowance. Flexi-block policy allowing you to work abroad for up to four weeks a year.
