Ever wondered how it would be to revolutionise one of the least digitised industries in the market, alongside a growing and switched-on team? Read on! We are Shape.Construction ! We are digitising the largest and most fundamental industry in the world, the industry that literally builds the foundations of the civilisation we all depend on to spare us from a brutal hunter-gatherer life: CONSTRUCTION It is one of the least digitised industries in the world but also the largest – 1 in 9 people globally work in the construction industry and it constitutes 11% of global GDP. Improving construction strengthens the very foundation of human civilisation. ( Watch our short film about it). We got our start as a high-end construction project management consultancy. As a consultancy, we are focused on genuinely upgrading the way construction projects are delivered. We then take the deep understanding of the projects we work on to develop construction management software products that anyone can use to deliver their projects better. We are building a full suite of products one module at a time – kind of like office 365 but for construction management. ( Check out Shape, our construction management tech and watch this video about what we are doing ) The core of all this is our true secret sauce; people. We only recruit the very best both in capability and personality. We are deeply focused on designing a new type of organisation that is optimised for the flourishing of the people in the team first and foremost. People that join us develop fast as a whole person in ways they never imagined. ( Read more about our vision and mission ). This approach has allowed us to grow from just 2 people in 2017 to over 200 today (including consultancy) and we are still very much at the beginning! Joining us isn't just some "job", it is a transformative educational experience. We challenge you to be your best self in all aspects of life. Our vision is designed to align how we operate with the fundamental aspects that enable anyone to have a fulfilled life: - Connects us with meaningful relationships - Inspires us to develop ourselves to become better humans - Empowers us to pursue our own learning adventures 4 core values for a good life We believe a life of human flourishing is all about meaningful relationships with others and challenging yourself to create a positive impact. Our four core values are grow yourself, care about people, execute to greatness and build civilisation. This philosophy goes much deeper and you can see more on our website. We are achieving this vision through the following two missions: 1. To fully digitise the construction of human civilisation 2. To create a new type of organisation that enables human flourishing while delivering a huge positive impact on society Laminar Projects is proud to be recognized as one of the UK's Best Workplaces in Construction, Engineering & Property™ for 2024! Join a team where learning, collaboration, and growth are at the core of everything we do, and where solving big challenges is part of the fun. The Role Purpose of the role We are looking for an AI Engineer who combines deep knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) with strong software engineering skills and a pragmatic approach to product development. This person will help us design, build and deploy AI-powered features across Shape App and Channels, working closely with the Product and SRE Teams to define optimal solutions and ensure they run reliably in production. You should be excited by the challenge of turning AI potential into real, useful features, for construction teams, and you should know when a small, lean approach is better than a large, complex one. Team You will join a team of product-minded software engineers, designers, and strategists focused on improving the way construction projects are delivered. You will work closely with Product Managers to shape AI features, and with our SRE Team to ensure production-readiness. You will be the go-to expert on AI/LLMs and play a key role in shaping our AI capability. Your top 3 objectives 1. Design Lean, Fit-for-Purpose AI Solutions: Choose and implement the most appropriate AI/LLM approach for each use case, balancing quality, performance and cost. 2. Integrate AI-features into our Applications: From exploration and prototyping to production deployment and iteration, using prompt engineering, model selection, fine-tuning, and evaluation. 3. Prepare for Production: Work with SREs to ensure AI features are reliable, scalable, observable, and secure in production. Your top 5 responsibilities 1. Understand the Product Context: Work with product teams to translate user needs into clear AI opportunities and technical requirements. 2. Own the AI Feature Lifecycle: From exploration and prototyping to production deployment and iteration, using prompt engineering, model selection, fine-tuning and evaluation. 3. Build AI-Backed Features: Contribute production-grade code that integrates AI capabilities into our apps, working alongside other engineers. 4. Guide Production Set-Up: Collaborate with SREs to define what infrastructure, observability, and scaling is required for each AI feature. 5. Stay Pragmatic and Up-to-Date: Continuously explore new development in LLMs and generative AI but always apply them with a product-first mindset. Your Capabilities You are a software engineer who understands how to use LLMs effectively, not just how to train them. You work well with ambiguity and know how to test your ideas quickly. You're comfortable collaborating with product teams and setting up production-grade systems. As a candidate, you should have: - Strong experience in applying LLMs and generative AI to real-world problems. - Solid foundation in Phyton and ML frameworks (e.g. LangChain, Transformers, OpenAI APIs, etc.). - Experience with multi-model evaluation and feedback loops. - Production experience with embeddings, vector dabatases (like Pinecone, Weaviate or FAISS), and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures. - Familiarity with MLOps tooling and observability for inference pipelines. - A bias for simplicity, clarity, and iterative delivery. - The ability to communicate clearly with engineers, designers and non-technical stakeholders. Nice to Have (If you don't have it now you will after joining) - Familiarity with production environments, APIs, and containerised systems (Docker, Kubernetes). - Participation in AI communities, papers or OSS projects. Shape isn't the place for you if any of the following is true: - You want an easy, chilled-out role without much challenge - You like to be the smartest person in the room - You don't like continuously receiving honest candid feedback - You prefer to do your own thing rather than work with a team At Shape we value diverse experiences and perspectives, empowering each member to contribute their unique expertise towards our collective success, so if you don't think you meet all the criteria but still are excited about this role we encourage you to apply anyways! __ Salary and Benefits Standard Stuff - Competitive salary dependent on location and capability - Paid Annual Leave (Number of days will depend on where you are based) + statutory Bank Holidays - In-House Coaching Sessions - Discretionary bonus scheme for all team members. The Life-Changing Stuff - 4 Day Weeks : That's right, 4 day weeks - Flexibility: Getting things done is what really matters, not what time of day you do it. That means you don't have to ask permission for things like picking up your kids or going to the doctor, just keep your team in the loop if you think they will be affected. - Grow your whole self: Our leaders are more like coaches and one of our main objectives is to give 5 years' worth of learning and development for every 1 year with us. You have a coach, mentor, well-being therapist and a development-orientated environment: That's literally what our vision is all about and the primary reason Shape exists - Be surrounded by the best: We only hire and retain the very best people. You might be used to being the smartest in the room but that won't be the case in Shape. You will be surrounded by people you can learn from. We are 100% meritocratic so fast progression is the norm. You will be supported to excel in whichever areas you are most interested in! With Shape, development is unbounded - Long-term impact: We are focused on solving the biggest issues in construction project delivery in a way that can spread and outlast us _ Application We get thousands of applications so please write us a letter as part of your application explaining: - Why do you want to join us? - If you joined, where do you think you could make the most impact and how? We aren't a giant faceless corporation; we really care about the people who want to join our team so all applications will be read thoroughly by our key leaders. In terms of application, we usually start with an intro call to tell you what we are all about in a casual conversation. That helps you to know us a bit better and tell us a bit about yourself. With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers! We're not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️ London, Barcelona, or UK Remote | £150,900 to £204,100 + stock options & benefits | ✅ Visa sponsorship & relocation available About our Data Discipline We have a strong culture of data-driven decision making across the whole company. Data is central to how we understand our customers, shape our products, manage risk and grow Monzo sustainably. We believe in empowering teams with high-quality, trusted data and self-serve analytics, while creating space for Data practitioners to focus on the highest-impact questions, opportunities and decisions. Our Data Discipline is deeply embedded in Monzo's product areas. Data Scientists, Analytics Engineers, and Machine Learning Engineers work in cross-functional squads alongside Engineers, Designers, Product Managers and other disciplines. This means Data is not a downstream service, and instead we shape strategy, challenge thinking, build the data foundations teams need to move quickly, and share accountability for customer and commercial outcomes. Our EU team ⭐ Our EU Data team is a full-stack Data team, and together we're building Monzo's presence across Europe from the ground up. We're entering new markets, learning what customers in each one need and finding product-market fit for Monzo. Our mission is to make money work for everyone, everywhere. As Data Director for EU expansion you'll lead the Data team and shape our product strategy as we grow, deciding where we place our bets, working out what to measure before there's a playbook, and making sure each new market learns fast enough to compound into the next. You'll work closely with EU leadership (our EU CEO, Country Managers and VP of Product) and Monzo's global Leadership team (the CTO, Head of Data and other Data Directors), sitting on the EU Tech Leadership team and helping shape our global data strategy. To do this well you'll need to relish ambiguity, bringing analytical rigour and commercial judgement to bets that often have to be made before the data is complete. You'll play a key role by... You'll own the full learning loop that EU expansion runs on, and you'll co-own the product development loop alongside EU Leadership, Product and Engineering. In a new market that often means building those loops from scratch, so you're accountable not just for measuring what happens, but for framing the questions, defining what good looks like, and building the systems that answer them. You'll be a senior voice on the EU Tech Leadership team, the person who reframes the hard problems and puts a number on the trade-off between what's valuable for customers and what's valuable for the business. Shaping product and commercial strategy: You'll decide where Monzo should bet as we enter each new European market, sizing the opportunity and finding product-market fit for the products and segments most likely to win. You'll use sharp commercial judgement to work through the ambiguity of building in a new market, from pricing and positioning to the levers that drive growth, bringing Data into strategy early so we shape priorities rather than react to decisions already made. Owning the data strategy and the learning loops: You'll set the data strategy for EU and stand up the foundations each new market needs, from the events we log and the metrics and experiments we design to the forecasts markets learn from. Lead the goal-setting process for EU Expansion, bringing clarity to metric selection and target setting, in close partnership with Finance. Changing how decisions get made: You'll represent Data directly at the ExCo level, building a shared language of metrics and analytical reasoning so that Data drives EU strategy rather than reporting on it. You'll drive cross-collective collaboration, spotting the high-leverage connections across the business, for example how savings features drive engagement in our Wealth collective. Building and leading a high-performing team: You'll build, grow and retain a high-performing, full-stack Data team, where everyone shares accountability for product and business outcomes. You'll raise the performance bar, develop the next generation of Data leaders, and model an inclusive, high-craft Data culture as we scale. We'd love to hear from you if… What we're doing here at Monzo excites you, and the idea of helping take it across Europe especially so! You're a strategic data leader who has operated at Director level or above, and you're energised by zero-to-one ambiguity, having built or scaled a data function in a new market, product line or business from an early stage. You move comfortably from detailed metrics and data architecture to customer strategy, commercial outcomes and product-market fit, and you're happy to be the opinionated voice in the room that reframes the trade-off. You lead through learning loops and hold a high technical bar, because you've built or owned the measurement a business relies on to set goals, run experiments and improve, with the judgement to know which methods and investments will pay off. You have experience leading company-wide or division-wide goal-setting, defining high-clarity metrics, setting targets and partnering closely with Finance. You change how organisations make decisions, not just how one project turns out, and you have experience of the cross-collective collaboration that connects the dots across different business areas. You're an empathetic people leader who has grown full-stack Data teams of both individual contributors and managers, comfortable representing Data at ExCo and to C-level peers, and you know what it takes to attract, develop and retain top talent. The application journey has 4 key steps 30 minute recruiter call 45 minute call with the hiring manager 4 x 1-hour video calls with various team members, including the General Manager for Payments A meet and greet with a member of EU Executive Committee Our average process takes around 3-4 weeks but we will always work around your availability. What is PerfectServe ? PerfectServe is a leading provider of clinical communication and physician scheduling solutions in the health IT space. The company was founded in 1997 and has grown steadily since then, with a notable jump after several major acquisitions were announced in 2019. PerfectServe now has 400+ employees, 30,000+ customers — spanning medical practices, hospitals, and health systems — and $100 million+ in annual revenue. PerfectServe's mission is to accelerate speed to care by optimizing provider schedules and routing communications — including messages, pages, calls, and alerts — to the right place at the right time in any care setting. By facilitating real-time information sharing, building better schedules, and automating important clinical workflows, we believe we can help our customers advance patient care and improve the well-being of their clinicians. Leading analyst firms like Gartner® and KLAS Research have consistently validated our approach: In 2026, PerfectServe was named highest in execution and furthest in vision in the Gartner Magic Quadrant™ for Clinical Communication and Collaboration — the clear segment leader. At PerfectServe, you'll have a unique opportunity to join a collaborative team with decades of experience that finds new ways to delight our customers every day. This involves consistent efforts to stay on the cutting edge of product development, which includes everything from implementing AI in new and existing solutions to brainstorming with customers about novel workflows. If you're looking for a well-established, tech-forward company full of smart people doing meaningful work, you've found the right place! About the role Join a new, small team building PerfectServe's data platform. We are building the pipelines and models that bring data together from across PerfectServe's product portfolio. You will work closely with a staff data engineer and a platform engineer, with enough ownership to see your work in production and enough support to learn quickly. The source systems are varied, so the work spans extending established pipelines and designing new ones from scratch. That range is a good part of the job. Why this role, specifically Joining a platform in its first months is a different experience from joining one that is five years old. The patterns are still being set, which means your questions change them. You will see the whole path — a production source system at one end, someone making a decision at the other — rather than one layer of a stack somebody else assembled. You will have a dedicated team to work with and learn from so the ownership comes without being thrown in unsupported. What you will do Build and maintain ingestion pipelines from production source systems Write transformation models that turn raw data into datasets people can trust Apply dimensional and medallion modelling patterns as the warehouse takes shape Deploy pipelines to production, and test them properly — idempotency, data quality checks Contribute to data model and schema design, and to design reviews Document what you build, including runbooks for the pipelines you own What you bring Professional experience building data pipelines, with production ownership of at least some Strong SQL, and a working programming language — Python, Go or equivalent Hands-on dbt, or another transformation framework A cloud data warehouse — Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or similar Practical ELT and orchestration experience (Fivetran, Airflow or equivalent) Working AWS knowledge — object storage, access basics, and enough networking to reason about where data moves A testing instinct for data, not only for code Nice to have Change-data-capture SQL Server sources Healthcare or another regulated data environment Exposure to a BI or semantic layer Why Join PerfectServe? At PerfectServe, we are transforming healthcare communication and collaboration to help clinicians deliver better care. You'll work with a dedicated and mission‑driven team in an environment that values growth, transparency, and innovation. We offer a salary range of $115,000–$140,000 USD per year, with compensation tailored to your background, strengths, and growth potential. This range reflects our commitment to pay transparency and is based on market data, internal equity, and the scope of responsibilities. Compensation is determined by several factors, including experience, skills, and team impact. We regularly review compensation to ensure fairness and consistency. Current employees with questions are encouraged to connect with their manager or People Operations.
