Wayve is not a mature, fully-structured place with the playbook already written. Much of how we work is still being written, and if you join, you'll help write it. That suits people who want real ownership more than people who need a settled structure from day one. If that sounds like the kind of problem you want to spend your time on, we'd really like to hear from you. At Wayve we're committed to creating a diverse, fair and respectful culture that is inclusive of everyone based on their unique skills and perspectives, and regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis as protected by applicable law. Engineering Manager (f/m/d)
MoonfareBerlin, Germany9 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteLead
typescriptgoreactnode.jsawsterraform+6

Join the team rewriting the rules in private markets. Moonfare delivers what few others can: the highly sought-after funds and hidden-gem investments that go beyond what most private banks offer. Every opportunity is subjected to a ruthless vetting process; the bar is unforgivingly high. The result? Institutional-quality portfolios for investors who demand more. Our team combines finance veterans with talent from tech, consulting, law and industries you'd never expect. Headquartered in Berlin, we operate from eight offices across Europe, the US and Asia. If you're ready to build what's next in private markets, let's talk. Engineering Manager (m/f/d) We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a meaningful part of our engineering organisation. You will be leading one or more product engineering teams alongside the DevOps and infrastructure engineers, who own the foundations everything else is built on – our cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, architecture and observability. Across these teams, you'll own their health, growth and delivery, and you'll be accountable both for the products they ship and for the reliability, security and scalability of the systems beneath them. We're also at the start of a deliberate change in how we build, with a greater focus on AI enablement. We're early in this, and we want a manager who's excited to help lead it – rethinking how the team works, what good looks like, and where human judgement matters most when agents do more of the building. What sits underneath all of this is consistency: working in financial services means the bar for security, reliability and correctness is high, and the people who build well here are the ones who take that seriously without losing pace. You will: Lead, support and grow your engineers across product and platform – running thoughtful 1-to-1s, setting clear expectations, and helping people develop toward the careers they want. Own delivery across your teams. Where you lead product teams, partner closely with Product and Design to shape a realistic roadmap and create the conditions to ship it well; where you lead platform and infrastructure, set the priorities that keep the whole organisation moving. Own the technical direction of our infrastructure and architecture – cloud, networking, data, deployment, and the patterns other teams build on. Hold a high bar for engineering quality, and balance new platform work against the infrastructure and architectural debt that any scaling company accumulates. Help lead our move toward agentic engineering — setting how the team uses AI coding tools well, building the workflows and guardrails for delegating work to agents, and keeping quality, security and review standards high as more of the implementation is automated. Hire well, and partner with other engineering managers and senior engineers to raise the standard of how the whole organisation builds, runs and secures software. The Next Moonfarian: Experience managing software engineers — you've led at least one team, owned its delivery and growth, and you know how to develop people as well as systems. Experience leading more than one team, or a mix of product and platform engineers, is a strong plus. A strong engineering background in infrastructure, platform or backend systems, with the depth to set architectural direction and be respected by senior engineers. Deep, hands–on experience with cloud infrastructure — AWS in particular — and modern infrastructure practice: infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform), containers and orchestration, CI/CD, and observability. A coaching instinct: you take satisfaction in other people's growth and success, not only your own output. Clear communication, and the judgement to know when to dig into detail and when to step back and trust your team. You're able to collaborate confidently with both technical and non–technical stakeholders. Comfort with ambiguity and change. We're scaling and evolving, and the role will too. Hands–on experience with modern AI coding tools – for example Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar agentic assistants. You use them in your own work, have a considered view on where they help and where they don't, and want to bring a team along with you as the way we build changes. Familiarity with modern web and cloud development. Our stack is built around TypeScript, Node.js and React on AWS – direct experience is welcome, but we care more about strong fundamentals and the ability to learn. This role is unlikely to be a good match if you: Prefer to work in silos and focus only on one domain, as this role requires a highly collaborative approach and the versatility to recruit across all business functions. Are resistant to adopting an AI–first mindset and prefer manual processes over exploring automation and new technologies to drive efficiency and advance our engineering organisation. Are uncomfortable with calculated risk–taking and moving at speed, as we aim to innovate and push boundaries within the necessary constraints of a regulated FinTech environment. If you feel you do not meet all of the requirements, we still encourage you to apply! Our Values: Our clients come first, Moonfare comes second, and we prioritise ourselves third - Client-Centric Focus. Putting clients first means creating value for them is essential. Placing Moonfare second signifies that our individual professional future at Moonfare depends on the company's commercial success. Prioritising ourselves third reflects our humility in putting clients and Moonfare before personal interests. We pursue excellence and honor our promises - Commitment to Excellence. We hold ourselves to the highest standards, taking responsibility for our failures, and celebrating our successes. We commit to deadlines and stick to them and we learn from our mistakes. We are here to win and to celebrate our collective achievements - Win together. We are mission-focused and think and act like owners. We exemplify the attitude we expect and each of us commits to do what it takes to succeed. We foster personal growth but each of us earns our place as a Moonfarian through merit - Growth and Merit. We hire, retain, and develop exceptional people and invest in empowering them to excel. We must all earn our place at the table every day. We understand the important role that diversity plays in our success. Different backgrounds, experiences and ideas push us further and raise the bar. We're committed to developing an inclusive and safe culture where everyone — regardless of colour, race, religion, sex, origin, sexuality, disability, marital status, citizenship or gender identity — knows that they are an integral part of the team and can bring their full potential to their work. *Minimum investments vary according to jurisdiction. What you will do Melotech is scaling fast, and organic reach is one of the engines behind it. As Organic Growth Lead, you own that engine end to end: the creators, the formats, the trends and the numbers behind them. This is an organic growth role first, measured on how much reach every hour and every euro brings back. You work directly with our founders, our Growth Manager, product and data team. Today that means a steady stream of new products that each deserve a shot at going viral across TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. Your first job is to build the machine behind that: find the creators and communities that move culture, turn what works into repeatable playbooks, and run more experiments in a week than most teams run in a quarter. On a typical day, your tasks may include: Creator network: finding, briefing and paying creators and pages at scale, from small accounts with loyal audiences to the ones that set trends, and keeping the ones that deliver Seeding: getting our products into the formats and communities where they can travel, at the right moment and in the right volume Trend spotting: catching formats and memes early and moving on them within days, not weeks Experiments: running many cheap tests every week, with clear rules for what wins and what gets killed, and turning the winners into playbooks the team can repeat New channels: finding places where attention is still cheap, from fan pages and communities to platforms nobody on the team is using yet Organic and paid together: working with our Growth Manager so organic winners get scaled with paid, and what paid learns feeds back into organic Measurement: knowing which number answers which question, for example what saves and shares tell you that views do not, and what each view really costs Tooling: building the trackers, scripts and automations you need, with platform data and AI tools as your daily coworkers Who you are We're looking for a hands-on organic operator who lives on the platforms, or a creative growth generalist who has made things travel. Either way, you have done it yourself, not through a team or an agency, and you can show the numbers. Typically, your profile will look like this: Interest: a strong interest in organic growth, creator marketing and social, ideally with hands-on experience from a startup, brand, app, creator agency or your own channels Breakouts you can show: you have made things go viral more than once, for a brand, an app or your own channels, and you can explain why it worked and what it cost Creator marketing at scale: you have run creator or UGC programs with many creators at once, negotiated the rates and written briefs that keep the content native; ideally you bring a network of creators, pages and managers Platform fluency: you know how TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts distribute content today, what makes a hook, and when a format is burning out Creativity with discipline: you come up with ideas nobody else would try, and then test them properly, with small budgets, kill rules and numbers Measurement: you track reach, engagement and cost per view in your own data, not in screenshots, and you judge every channel by what it brings back Data and tooling: you are fast in spreadsheets, ideally comfortable with SQL or Python, and you automate the boring parts with AI tools Pace: you thrive in a fast-paced and performance-oriented environment A big plus: you are or were a creator yourself, or have run pages with a real following, and you're into media, entertainment, gaming or social What makes this exciting You own a lever the whole company feels. Every breakout you engineer shows up directly in how fast we can grow, at a fraction of what paid reach would cost. You're not a cog in the machine but the captain of your own ship, rewarded for performance and respected for leadership. Flat hierarchies mean that your voice matters, your ideas get implemented, and your impact is immediate. We pay competitive salaries and make you an owner of the business with equity. We work remotely to give you complete freedom over your life, while meeting regularly around the world for global offsites where we strategize, bond, and push boundaries together. What the process will look like We hire on a rolling basis. Earliest starting date is always ASAP. Once you begin our process, you can progress from start to offer within a week, depending on how quickly you can move through each stage: Initial interview: 30-minute introductory call, getting to know you Case interview: 90-minute case discussion, present and debate your skills Founder interview: 90-minute interview with our CEO, going deep on all topics Offer, contract signing and onboarding Note: As we are still in stealth, you will learn more about Melotech as you progress through the stages. By the end of the Founder interview, you will have a full grasp of our business and the details of your role. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
