About the role: Samsara's Product Operations team is looking for a hands-on builder to join our Platform team and help accelerate our enterprise-ready roadmap. You will support the Billing, Org & Auth, and Security product teams, working closely with R&D leaders to turn ambiguous questions into rigorous analyses, repeatable workflows, and internal tools used across our Product and Engineering organization. You move ARR. Not "contribute to." Revenue (or an equivalent business result) grows because of decisions you made . You might investigate why enterprise customers stall on a security or permissions requirement, combine signals from thousands of support tickets and customer conversations to find what's blocking expansion, or build a dashboard that helps hundreds of product managers and engineers see how platform gaps translate into pipeline and retention risk. This is an individual-contributor role for someone who has already shown they can build and ship. You do not need a technical background. However, you do need to use modern AI and development tools to move beyond a prototype: work with data, write and debug code using AI, validate the results, put a useful tool in front of users, and improve it until people trust and rely on it. This is a remote position open to candidates based in the United States and Canada. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role. You should apply if: You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will help keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and, most importantly, ensure workers return home safely. You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won't be your last at Samsara. We set you up for success and have built a culture of rapid career development, with countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper-growth environment. You're energized by our opportunity: Our vision to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers. You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together, and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that encourages you to do your best. You measure yourself by revenue outcomes: You want your work tied directly to ARR, and you're accountable for the result, not just the activity. In this role, you will: Drive ARR through platform decisions. Identify the enterprise-readiness gaps that most limit new business, expansion, and retention, and shape prioritization so that fixing them measurably moves ARR. Accelerate enterprise-ready delivery by partnering with the Billing, Org & Auth, and Security product teams to define priorities, remove blockers, and track progress against the commitments customers and Sales are waiting on. Build and ship internal data and AI products that help Product and Engineering teams understand platform usage, customer friction, and the highest-impact opportunities to improve. Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data, including product telemetry, support tickets, customer conversations, feature requests, surveys, and product metadata, to find patterns that would be difficult to see manually. Turn one-time analyses into reliable, repeatable tools and workflows with clear data definitions, quality checks, documentation, and feedback loops. Translate complex findings into clear, decision-ready recommendations for R&D leadership, while preserving the evidence and methodology behind them. Quantify the revenue impact of platform investments and report on it, so every roadmap bet has a clear, defensible ARR case before and after launch. Own projects end to end: scope the problem, identify and connect the right data, build the first version, launch it, measure adoption and business impact, and continue improving it. Use AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully, checking outputs, debugging failures, and applying sound judgment rather than treating generated work as automatically correct. Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices. Minimum requirements for the role: 8+ years of professional experience in a role such as product operations, data or product analytics, business operations, consulting, technical product management, or another environment where you solved ambiguous problems with data and technology. A demonstrated record of building and shipping something useful for real users, such as an internal tool, application, dashboard, automation, data product, or repeatable analytical workflow. A track record of connecting your work to revenue or an equivalent business result (ARR, retention, expansion, cost), and the ability to show how your decisions caused it. Experience structuring and analyzing messy or large datasets, validating the results, and explaining what the analysis does and does not prove. Strong product and customer judgment: you start with the user problem and business outcome, not the technology. Clear written and verbal communication. You can explain technical or analytical work to non-technical partners and executives without losing the important details. High ownership, curiosity, and attention to detail. You are comfortable learning quickly, asking sharp questions, forming a point of view, and iterating through ambiguity. An ideal candidate also has: Experience in a B2B technology company or working closely with Product and Engineering teams. Experience in Product Operations functions: defining and tracking product roadmaps and feature requests, and bringing the voice of the customer to every product conversation. Familiarity with enterprise platform domains such as billing and monetization, identity, access, and org management, or security and compliance, and with what enterprise buyers require in each. At Affirm, we exist for the moments that matter—giving people a clear, predictable way to pay over time, with no hidden fees, no surprises, and no tradeoffs on what matters most. About the Revenue Team: The Revenue team drives Affirm's growth by acquiring, retaining, and expanding merchant partnerships across eCommerce, in-store, telesales, and the Affirm app. The SMB Sales team focuses on bringing new merchants onto Affirm, building relationships with business owners and decision-makers, and demonstrating how Affirm's payment solutions can drive conversion, increase sales, and support business growth. Through strategic prospecting, consultative selling, and cross-functional collaboration, the team helps merchants unlock new opportunities while expanding Affirm's reach across the SMB market. About the Role: Affirm is seeking an experienced, quota-carrying Account Executive to own the full sales cycle for complex, high-growth merchants across the upper SMB and Mid-Market segment. This portfolio includes merchants with up to $300M in total annual sales and requires a seller who can operate as the general manager of a territory, create demand, engage executive decision-makers, build a quantified business case, structure a compelling commercial solution, and lead the opportunity through contract and launch. The Account Executive is accountable for new merchant acquisition and the long-term quality of each partnership. The role translates merchant priorities into solutions across Affirm's products and capabilities, while aligning internal stakeholders across Sales, Merchant Pricing, Product, Partnerships, Risk, Legal, Operations, Implementation, and Merchant Success. Success requires strategic prospecting, strong financial and commercial judgment, fluency in technical and operational requirements, and the ability to create momentum across complex buying groups. What You'll Do: Own a defined territory and revenue plan. Operate as the general manager of a portfolio that includes complex, high-growth merchants with up to $300M in total annual sales. Develop the account strategy, prioritization model, pipeline plan, and execution cadence required to achieve signed GMV and revenue targets. Generate and develop net-new pipeline. Research priority merchants, identify relevant business and market triggers, and use targeted outbound, partner channels, events, referrals, and internal resources to create qualified opportunities. Lead executive discovery. Engage founders, C-suite executives, and senior leaders across Finance, E-commerce, Product, Technology, Operations, and Marketing to understand strategic priorities, operating constraints, customer economics, and decision criteria. Set the strategy for complex opportunities. Independently determine the account plan, stakeholder engagement strategy, competitive positioning, internal resource requirements, negotiation posture, and path to close for each opportunity. Build quantified business cases. Translate merchant data and objectives into clear recommendations supported by expected conversion, average order value, customer acquisition, repeat purchase, GMV, revenue, unit economics, and operational impact. Design the merchant solution. Partner with Sales Engineering and Onboarding to define the appropriate product configuration, integration path, rollout strategy, and customer experience. Lead opportunities that may require customized payment configurations, e-commerce platform integrations, technical solutioning, or multi-entity implementation planning. Lead commercial negotiations. Develop deal strategy, position differentiated value, handle objections, and negotiate pricing, terms, and partnership structure. Evaluate merchant requirements against expected GMV, revenue, unit economics, implementation complexity, and risk while protecting Affirm's long-term financial interests. Develop recommendations for non-standard partnerships. Use sound commercial judgment to structure and present recommendations involving custom pricing, contractual terms, product requirements, implementation investments, or other exceptions requiring internal approval. Lead cross-functional deal teams. Lead virtual teams without direct authority by establishing clear owners, operating cadence, decision points, escalation paths, and timelines across Partnerships, Risk, Legal, Implementation, and Merchant Pricing. Own the path from signature to launch. Remain accountable for a successful handoff and project-manage critical launch dependencies so signed merchants progress efficiently toward integration and go-live. Maintain forecast and operating discipline. Keep Salesforce current, accurately assess deal stage and material risk, provide reliable weekly and quarterly forecasts, and communicate changes early with a clear recovery plan. Represent the market internally. Bring structured merchant, industry, and competitive insights to product and business partners, identify recurring barriers, and influence scalable improvements to Affirm's products and go-to-market motion. Raise team performance. Share effective account strategies, executive messaging, business cases, and deal practices. Contribute to a high-accountability culture focused on customer value, commercial discipline, and measurable outcomes. What We Look For: 4 or more years of quota-carrying, full-cycle closing experience in B2B SaaS, fintech, payments, e-commerce, or another complex technology environment. A demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and creating self-sourced pipeline in a new-logo acquisition role. Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and building relationships with executive and functional decision-makers. Strong consultative discovery, objection handling, negotiation, and closing skills, including the ability to establish a clear decision process and mutual action plan. Ability to analyze merchant and market data, develop a quantified business case, and communicate financial and strategic value with credibility. Experience coordinating legal, risk, technical, pricing, operational, and implementation stakeholders to resolve barriers and close business. Strong territory planning, pipeline management, CRM discipline, and forecasting capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive presentations and concise internal updates. High ownership, sound judgment, resilience, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-changing environment with multiple priorities.
