We're assembling the most talent-dense team the logistics industry has ever seen Relay's Mission is to free commerce from friction . THE TEAM • ~160 people , around half in engineering, product and data • 45+ advanced degrees across computer science, mathematics and operations research • Thousands of data points captured, calculated, analysed and predicted for every single parcel we handle • An intellectually vibrant culture of first‑principles thinking , tight feedback loops and relentless experimentation The Opportunity The Talent Lead – Operations & Business at Relay will play a critical role in shaping and driving hiring strategies for our non-tech organisation. About Airwallex Airwallex is the AI-native financial operating system for a real-time, intelligent economy. More than 675,000 businesses, including McLaren Racing, Qantas, SHEIN, and TikTok, use us, directly or through our platform partners, to run their financial operations or build and monetize financial products of their own. We started in Melbourne in 2015 to build the infrastructure global commerce runs on. We're the regulated backbone behind global payments: not by accident, but by design. A decade plus, 85+ licenses, and a financial infrastructure spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. We're co-headquartered in San Francisco and Singapore, with more than 2,300 people across 27 offices. We hire builders with founder-level energy, people who move fast with good judgment, dig in with real curiosity, and make calls from first principles rather than waiting to be told what to do. Read our operating principles to see it in full. How you'll make impact Own the first 90 days of the customer journey for new French customers, bringing them to their target level of activity as quickly as possible through clear plans, hands-on product configuration and fast blocker removal. You'll lead onboarding from first KYC approval, working closely with Account Executives, Account Managers, KYC, Support, Risk and Product across a portfolio of customers with different levels of complexity. You'll help customers configure and activate accounts, payments, FX, cards, Spend and payouts, while managing a proactive portfolio of partner-referred customers. Take ownership of each customer from first KYC approval, with a clear plan, milestones, owners and the revenue target defined at signature. Adapt the onboarding approach to the deal: use a scaled motion for smaller deals, a high-touch approach for larger ones, and partner with the Account Manager on enterprise onboardings. Guide customers through account set-up, payments, FX, cards, Spend and payouts based on their use case. Remove blockers quickly by coordinating with KYC, Support, Risk and Product, while keeping communication clear and proactive. Hand customers over to the Account Manager at day 90 with documented account status, adoption level and expansion signals. Reduce the time between first KYC approval and first live transaction. Bring each customer to the revenue target set at signature and spot at-risk onboardings early, escalating with context, impact and a proposed solution. Run a proactive, scaled motion for partner-referred customers, including onboarding follow-up, usage monitoring and risk detection. Keep partners informed about the progress of their referred customers and hand accounts that grow in value or complexity to the Account Manager. Contribute to onboarding playbooks, checklists and standard configurations by customer type. Keep Salesforce and onboarding tracking accurate and up to date, turning recurring friction into process improvements. You'll work from our Paris office a minimum of three days per week. What we're looking for Essentials Experience in onboarding, implementation, customer success or a comparable post-sale delivery role. Experience working in a high-pace, high-volume environment, handling multiple onboardings in parallel while maintaining quality and deadlines. Hands-on experience configuring a product with customers. A strong understanding of financial flows such as payments, FX, payouts, cards, invoicing or reconciliation, and the ability to speak credibly to Finance and Operations teams. A track record measured on customer outcomes such as activation, usage and time-to-live, rather than activity. Fluency in French and professional English. The ability to learn complex products quickly, explain them simply and work across teams without direct authority. A proactive, resilient and hands-on way of working. Preferred Experience in fintech, payments, banking, FX or spend management. Accounting or finance knowledge. Experience with partner-referred customers. Familiarity with Salesforce and usage data. You'll thrive here if You own the outcome and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken. You simplify complexity rather than hiding behind it. You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly anyway. You treat setbacks as information. You get back up quickly. You know when to align and when to just decide. Collaboration isn't a way to avoid accountability. Learn more about your team SME & Growth at Airwallex is about more than closing deals. We help small and mid-market businesses solve real financial challenges across borders: getting paid globally, managing multi-currency accounts, paying suppliers, and running spend across markets from a single platform. You're not selling a feature. You're helping founders and finance leaders replace fragmented financial operations with one global system that actually scales. It's a function for sellers who like to build, not follow a script: curious, resourceful, and comfortable figuring things out in markets that are still wide open. You get real autonomy to create value, build relationships, and move opportunities forward. If you want to sell a serious product, solve real problems for ambitious businesses, and build your career fast, this is a place to do it. Applicant Safety Policy: Fraud and Third-Party Recruiters To protect you from recruitment scams, please be aware that Airwallex will not ask for bank details, sensitive ID numbers (i.e. passport), or any form of payment during the application or interview process. All official communication will come from an @ airwallex.com email address. Please apply only through careers.airwallex.com or our official LinkedIn page. Airwallex does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms/recruiters. Airwallex will not pay any fees to search firms/recruiters if a candidate is submitted by a search firm/recruiter unless an agreement has been entered into with respect to specific open position(s). Equal opportunity Airwallex is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity and anyone seeking employment at Airwallex is considered based on merit, qualifications, competence and talent. We don't regard color, religion, race, national origin, sexual orientation, ancestry, citizenship, sex, marital or family status, disability, gender, or any other legally protected status when making our hiring decisions. Operations Manager - West Midlands Sort Centre
Full TimeOn-siteMid
triagetaxcompliancecomplianceonboardinglogistics+1

Relay is fundamentally reshaping how goods move in an online era. Backed by Europe's largest-ever logistics Series A ($35M) led by deep-tech investors Plural, and a recently closed Series B ($95M), Relay is scaling faster than 99% of venture-backed startups. We're assembling the most talent-dense team the logistics industry has ever seen Relay's Mission is to free commerce from friction . Today, high delivery costs act as a hidden tax on e-commerce, quietly shaping what can be sold online and limiting who can participate. We envision a world where more goods move more freely between more people , making the online shopping experience seamless and accessible to everyone. THE TEAM • ~160 people , around half in engineering, product and data • 45+ advanced degrees across computer science, mathematics and operations research • Thousands of data points captured, calculated, analysed and predicted for every single parcel we handle • An intellectually vibrant culture of first‑principles thinking , tight feedback loops and relentless experimentation The Opportunity You will report to the Site Manager/Head of Site and will run shifts at one of our Hybrid Sort Centres (HSCs), leading 50–100+ operatives through high-volume, time-pressured sortation where minutes matter and small deviations cascade into missed deadlines. Each of our HSCs handle over 40 million parcels annually, with our largest site measuring more than 300,000 sq ft. You will also be accountable for whether the site is measurably better in a month than it is today for each of our key metrics. You are on the floor for your shift, every shift. This is not a project role with occasional site visits and it is not a desk job, the forward work happens along with running the operation. Who will thrive in this role Deliver shift plan end to end people deployment, throughput, quality standards, and health & safety compliance Lead, develop, and performance-manage a frontline team of 50–100+ operatives Build the mechanisms that hold the operation together. Build controls, cadences, metrics, SOPs, change management and own their adoption, not only their design Plan ahead for future shifts; labour, training, and the risks you can see coming before they land Own the end-of-shift handover; what happened, what is at risk, what the next shift needs to know Stay decisive through volume peaks, outages, and labour gaps. Triage, solve the problem at hand quickly, contain the impact, restore flow Present and write clearly whether briefs, escalations, handovers or post-incident reviews. Decisions here get made based off what you wrote Implement changes into a live operation such as introducing robotics, launching new sortation tech or onboarding new clients. We are changing the operations constantly which means you'll roll change out mid flight and bring your team along the journey. Who you are Scaled something from zero : a site, a market, a process or a program. Managed a physical operation : quick commerce, grocery, e-commerce fulfillment, last mile, 3PL, food production, airport ground handling, rail. Anywhere with a hard cut off and people on the floor. Communicate in both directions and have strong people management skills : you can brief 80 operatives at shift start and take a problem to senior leadership the same day. Built a mechanism that held : a control, a cadence, a metric, a document standard. Something you authored that changed how frontline teams worked. Own numbers rather than report them : you can name a metric you created or redefined, explain why the previous one was wrong, and say what changed afterwards. Understand frontline work : one of these must be true: you have personally led frontline teams; you have worked embedded in and around a frontline population day to day, without the reporting line; or you have been accountable for outcomes delivered by frontline people you did not employ. You do not need to have worked in parcels, fulfilment, or sortation. Several of our most talented people had not. Backgrounds that translate well Program Manager in a logistics or e-commerce business Operations Excellence and Continuous Improvement Strategy & Operations Transformation manager Launch and Expansion Manager Regional operations manager We have hired well from corporate operations, from central operations inside large UK retailers and carriers, and from quick commerce and marketplace operators. Consulting backgrounds work where you implemented, not only recommended; we are keen to understand what you who actually rolled it out. Hiring process Our hiring process is fast. Initial screen (15 min) Hiring Manager conversation (90 min) - 45 min onsite interview immediately followed by a 45 min site tour where you shadow an existing shift manager Final interview (45 min). Decision and offer within 48 hours Who Thrives at Relay? Aim with Precision: You define problems clearly and measure your impact meticulously. Play to Win: You chase bold bets, tackle the hard stuff, and view constraints as fuel, not friction. 1% Better Every Day : You believe that small, consistent improvements lead to exponential growth. You move quickly, deliver results, and learn from every experience. All In, All the Time : You show up and step up. You take ownership from start to finish and do what it takes to deliver when it counts. People-Powered Greatness : You invest in your teammates. You give and receive feedback with care and candour. You build trust through high standards and shared success. Grow the Whole Pie : You seek out win-win solutions for merchants, couriers, and our customers, because when they thrive, so do we. If these resonate, and you combine strong technical fundamentals with entrepreneurial drive, let's connect. About the team The Credit Risk team is part of Airwallex's Second Line of Defence and helps the company grow responsibly as a global financial platform. We work at the intersection of credit, FX, and counterparty risk, partnering closely with Product, Sales, Operations, Treasury, Finance, Engineering, Compliance, and Legal to enable commercial growth while protecting Airwallex from financial loss and excessive risk exposure. This is a team for analytical, commercially minded risk leaders who are energized by building scalable frameworks and practical controls across a fast-moving, multi-currency global network. What you'll do As a Senior Manager, Credit Risk, you will lead Airwallex's global second-line oversight of credit, FX, and counterparty risk. You will set the risk guardrails that allow the business to grow safely across merchant acquiring, charge cards, FX, treasury, settlement, and banking-partner activities. Reporting to the Senior Director, Financial Risk, you will own the global framework, risk appetite, limits, governance, and portfolio oversight for these risk areas. You will provide independent challenge to first-line decisions and act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the business. This role is based in London. Responsibilities Credit risk framework and risk appetite: Define, implement, and continuously enhance the global second-line credit risk framework, including policies, risk appetite thresholds, limits, escalation protocols, and governance standards across Airwallex's products and legal entities. Credit portfolio oversight: Oversee credit exposures across merchant acquiring, charge cards, B2B and commercial activities, FX pre-funding, treasury-related exposures, settlement flows, and other relevant products. Underwriting and limit governance: Review and challenge first-line underwriting strategies, customer and merchant risk policies, credit assessments, limit-setting methodologies, and exception processes. Act as a senior escalation point for complex or high-value credit decisions. FX risk oversight: Establish and monitor appropriate second-line guardrails for FX exposures arising from pre-funding, settlement, customer activity, treasury flows, and other multi-currency activities. Challenge controls, limits, escalation triggers, and risk reporting to ensure exposures remain within approved tolerances. Counterparty risk management: Set and oversee counterparty risk standards for banking partners, payment partners, merchants, customers, and other material counterparties. Establish appropriate exposure limits, concentration thresholds, monitoring requirements, and escalation processes. Portfolio monitoring and early warning indicators: Lead proactive monitoring of credit, FX, and counterparty portfolios, including exposure, concentration, delinquency, default, chargeback, loss, settlement, liquidity-of-counterparty, and other relevant risk indicators. Identify emerging trends and escalate material issues before they become systemic. Loss mitigation and remediation: Review and challenge first-line monitoring, collections, collateral, prefunding, reserves, chargeback, and other mitigation strategies. Ensure deteriorating counterparties, customers, merchants, or exposures are identified and addressed promptly. New products and market expansion: Partner with Product, Engineering, Commercial, Treasury, Finance, and Operations to assess and challenge the risk design of new products, features, markets, currencies, and partner arrangements before launch. Risk approvals and governance: Lead or support risk committee decisions, material risk approvals, limit exceptions, breach assessments, and remediation plans. Ensure decisions are documented clearly and aligned with approved risk appetite. Regulatory and partner engagement: Represent Credit Risk during regulatory examinations, internal and external audits, and reviews with banking and strategic partners. Prepare clear, decision-useful materials for senior management, risk committees, and the Board where appropriate. Who you are We're looking for people who meet the minimum requirements for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory. Minimum qualifications 10–15 years of progressively senior experience across credit risk, counterparty risk, FX risk, treasury risk, or related financial risk disciplines within banking, payments, fintech, or another highly regulated financial services environment. Deep experience designing, implementing, and governing second-line credit risk frameworks in a complex, multi-jurisdictional organization. Strong understanding of credit risk identification, measurement, underwriting, limit management, monitoring, mitigation, provisioning, loss recognition, and capital implications. Demonstrated experience managing risk across multiple product lines, such as merchant acquiring, commercial or charge cards, B2B lending, payment processing, FX, treasury, settlement, or banking-partner activities. Practical experience overseeing FX and counterparty risk, including exposure measurement, concentration risk, limits, settlement risk, prefunding, collateral or other mitigants, and escalation governance. Proven ability to challenge first-line decisions and communicate clear risk positions to senior executives, commercial leaders, product and operations teams, banking partners, auditors, and regulators. Preferred qualifications Advanced degree such as an MBA or Master's in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field. Professional certification such as FRM, PRM, CFA, or an equivalent qualification. Experience with automated decisioning engines, credit scoring models, portfolio analytics, or alternative data used in underwriting and monitoring. Familiarity with IFRS 9, expected credit loss methodologies, stress testing, or other relevant prudential and accounting frameworks. Strong data literacy and familiarity with SQL, Python, or similar tools used to analyze portfolio, exposure, and loss trends. Experience working in a regulated payments fintech, digital bank, or financial institution with multiple licenses and banking partnerships. Comfort operating in a high-growth environment with evolving priorities and a bias for practical, scalable execution. Health can't wait . Not for symptoms to get worse. Not for a six‑month appointment. Not for a system to catch up. But that's exactly how healthcare works today. You wait, until you can't. Alan exists to end the wait. Health is a universal right, and we believe this right can only become real when it's coupled with prevention. We need to stop treating health as something we repair and start treating it as something we build, every day. It's not solely a question of willpower. It's the healthcare system itself that needs to work for everyone, in a sustainable way. So we are building the new standard in prevention insurance. Alan is the first company that integrates insurance, prevention, and care into a single, acclaimed user experience. We are on an incredible journey to build a global leading company, with a unique culture . We already partner with 40K+ companies of all sizes, serving more than 1M+ members, and have reached €800M+ in ARR. Prevention as the new norm. That's what we're building with our team of 1000+ people. If it speaks to you: we're hiring across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada. And beyond. The team is now entering a new phase of development. We are hiring new Partnership Manager to help build a scalable, high-performing partner network and contribute to Alan's ambition to make Accountant Partnerships a strategic growth channel. Here is how your key outcomes will look like: Build and grow a strong partner network: Identify, prioritise and develop relationships with high-potential accounting firms and networks. Help scale the Accountant Partnerships model: Manage partner performance, share insights with internal teams and contribute to the development of scalable playbooks, tools and processes. ⭐ Is it you we're looking for?
