Easy Apply now by clicking the "Easy Apply" button and sending us your resume. Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year A bit about us: We are a privately held, diversified organization headquartered in Southwest Michigan with businesses and investments spanning real estate, hospitality, entertainment, property operations, capital management, and other privately held entities. Our corporate finance team sits at the center of these businesses, providing consolidated financial reporting, cash and funding support, intercompany accounting, capital and fixed-asset oversight, and financial infrastructure across multiple operating groups. While individual businesses operate independently, our finance organization connects them at the ownership and corporate level. We have historically operated with the agility of a smaller entrepreneurial organization, but continued growth and investment are creating the need for stronger processes, greater financial visibility, and a more scalable finance function. This creates an unusual opportunity for an accountant who enjoys being hands-on while gaining exposure across a broad and growing portfolio of businesses. Why join us? Work directly alongside experienced finance leadership with exposure across a diverse portfolio of businesses. Join an organization that expects to continue growing significantly and is evolving its finance infrastructure accordingly. Gain considerably broader exposure than a traditional Senior Accountant role, including multi-entity accounting, cash management, leasing, budgeting, payroll/benefits, intercompany activity and special projects. Step into a role with runway—the goal is for this person to master the position and take on additional responsibility over time. Work in a professional but laid-back environment where collaboration and relationships matter. Receive a target 15% annual bonus in addition to base compensation. Company-paid medical, dental and vision coverage. Be part of a lean finance team where your work is visible and directly impacts leadership decisions. Job Details The Role We are seeking a Senior Accountant who will play a key hands-on role within our corporate finance organization. This position is primarily responsible for general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, consolidated financial reporting, cash forecasting and intercompany activity across multiple entities. This is not an overly technical accounting environment, but it is a complex operating environment with numerous entities, systems, stakeholders and moving pieces. The right person will enjoy digging into details while understanding how their work connects to the broader organization. Responsibilities: Own general ledger and monthly close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Lead preparation of year-end financial information provided to the outside tax firm. Prepare timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Consolidate financial results across multiple businesses and accounting systems. Analyze financial results and business metrics for management. Prepare bank reconciliations and regular cash forecasts. Track expenditures against forecast and support intercompany funding requirements. Manage intercompany charges, settlements, reconciliations, and allocations. Coordinate HR and benefits administration with outside benefits partners. Process payroll and related accounting entries. Support budgeting and forecasting in partnership with operational management. Prepare actual-versus-budget variance analysis. Support accounting and administration related to property leasing. Assist with fixed-asset and capital-level accounting. Develop internal controls, process documentation, and process improvements. Support finance leadership with special projects, ad-hoc requests, and strategic initiatives. Develop strong working relationships with leaders across independently operated business groups. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience. Strong general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliation experience. Experience preparing financial statements and working within GAAP. Experience working with multiple entities and/or accounting systems. Strong Microsoft Office skills. CPA/CMA or progress toward certification preferred. Payroll and HR administration experience preferred. Property leasing experience preferred. Familiarity with internal controls/SOX principles preferred. What We're Looking For: Hands-on accountant who isn't afraid to get into the weeds. Self-starter who takes responsibility and follows through. Collaborative team player who proactively communicates across departments. Comfortable managing numerous priorities and shifting between them. Organized enough to operate effectively in an environment with a bit of "organized chaos." Detail-oriented while still understanding the larger objective. Flexible, dependable, and comfortable learning unfamiliar areas. Interested in growing responsibilities as the organization continues to evolve. Interested in hearing more? Easy Apply now by clicking the "Easy Apply" button. Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
