Our mission We're making Africa the first cashless continent. In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash. We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across 9 countries and are growing fast. Our goal is to make Africa the first cashless continent and that's where you come in... How you'll help us achieve it We're looking for an experienced security engineer who's independent, excited about getting things done, and ready to hit the ground running. You'll primarily be responsible for our application security, working with our product teams to work on new systems to enhance our security posture. Our customers trust us with their money, and you'll be at the forefront of making sure we retain that trust! This broadly scoped role will allow you to get your hands on many different types of security projects, from direct application security to helping our infrastructure team think about security for our databases. As we integrate AI-powered agents into our engineering and operations workflows, you'll help define and enforce the guardrails around how we use them safely. This includes securing agentic tooling against prompt injection, excessive permissions, and data exfiltration — and building the policies and technical controls to govern AI usage across the company. Some experience with common industry certifications like ISO-27001 and PCI-DSS would be beneficial, although you won't be expected to run or oversee audits. Our to-do list changes constantly, but here are some recent projects: Design our agentic SIEM/SecOps pipelines to evaluate and tune AI-driven triage, alerting, and response automation Secure our MCP integrations against prompt injection, tool misuse, and credential exposure Tune and maintain code security review agents tailored to Wave's codebase, threat model, and regulatory environment Develop internal AI governance standards covering acceptable use, data handling, and audit requirements for LLM-powered tools Centralise application-level login and permissions enforcement including privileged access management Rework our approach to secrets management with ephemeral secrets and tighter access scopes Security review of our public-facing APIs Key details You can work remotely from anywhere (between UTC -5 and +4) with reliable internet access. Wave covers travel once per year to one of our operating countries in Africa, as well as a yearly stipend of $1200 to meet with coworkers. Our salaries are competitive and are calculated using a transparent formula. For this role, depending on your level of experience, we offer a salary of up to $185,800 USD (or local equivalent), plus a generous equity. We run performance reviews twice a year and award bonuses or promotions to strong performers who have been with the company for more than six months Major benefits: Subsidized health insurance for you and your dependents and retirement contributions (both vary from country-to-country). 6 months fully paid parental leave and subsidized fertility assistance. Flexible vacation, with most folks taking between 30-40 days per year. $10,000 annual charitable donation matching. Yearly travel to one of our African operating countries. Requirements Minimum of 7-8 years of professional experience with a minimum of 3-5 years of it spent in a security-related role Strong Experience with Python. Fluent English. You might be a good fit if you Are excited about finding the right balance between security and velocity. Work to make things easier for the next engineer who will touch your code. Always try to improve as a programmer and colleague. App Developer (Flutter)
DeWarmteThe Hague, Germany10 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid€4,000 - €4,000 / Year
godartflutterdjangosketchci/cd+3

At DeWarmte, we make smart, affordable heat pumps that help homes move away from gas. We design the hardware, software and services ourselves, so the quality of our software directly shapes how well our products work in people's homes. We're growing fast, and both apps need to grow with us. That's why we're looking for an App Developer to build and improve our two Flutter apps. Homeowners use the customer app to control their heat pump. Installers and service engineers use the employee app to install and maintain heat pumps in the field. You'll spend most of your time writing code: improving quality and reliability and shipping features to iOS and Android. Your work has a direct effect on comfort at home and on how efficiently our installation and service teams work. AI tools are already part of how we build software. We use them where they help us move faster, but we do not lower the bar: anything we ship still needs to be secure, maintainable and correct. You'll help us get better at both. Why this role matters Build reliable, intuitive apps that give customers confident control of their heat pump and help our installation and service teams do great work in the field. You'll join the team behind two apps used every day by customers, installers and service engineers. You'll get to know them deeply, keep them reliable and improve them as DeWarmte grows. Just as important: you'll help make sure knowledge and ownership are shared across the team. What you'll do Develop the DeWarmte apps Build the features homeowners and installers to use and control heat pumps Ensure that the DeWarmte apps stand out in the market with regards to usability functionality and innovation. Make sure the app holds up in real-world conditions, like a basement with poor connectivity. Build a strong app platform Work directly in the production Dart/Flutter codebases for iOS and Android. Design, build, test and release new features, from first sketch to the App Store and Google Play. Evolve app architecture, state management and shared components across both apps. Work with our backend developers on clean, well-documented APIs. Improve automated testing, CI/CD, crash reporting, analytics and release practices. Diagnose and fix issues that span the apps, our Django backend and devices in the field. Build with AI Use AI tools to support design, coding, testing, reviews and documentation. Help the team improve its AI workflows, shared context and quality checks. Try new tools, keep what works and share what you learn. Hold AI-assisted code to the same standards as any other production code. Share ownership Turn implicit knowledge into clear documentation, tooling and repeatable engineering practices. Write code that other engineers can easily understand, test and safely change. Take part in code reviews and technical decision-making. Work across the company This role reaches beyond app development. You'll work with colleagues in product, backend, hardware, controls, installation and service—and listen closely to customers—to solve today's issues without compromising the apps for tomorrow. What success looks like In your first few months You understand both apps, how they connect to our backend and heat pumps, and where the risks are. You can independently build, debug and release changes to both apps through the team's review and release practices. The most important technical debt and quality issues are visible and prioritised. As the role develops New features ship predictably, safely and with good test coverage. Customers trust the app to control their heat pump: crash rates go down and app store ratings go up. Thanks to the employee app, installations and service visits are faster and have fewer errors. The team uses AI tools confidently and responsibly in its day-to-day work. Both apps are understood and maintained by more than one person. Who we're looking for Solid hands-on experience building and shipping production mobile apps with Flutter and Dart. Experience releasing and maintaining apps on both the App Store and Google Play. A solid grasp of app architecture and state management (e.g. Riverpod, Bloc or Provider). Experience integrating REST APIs, authentication and push notifications. A track record of taking functionality from design through implementation, testing and release to real-world use. Strong engineering fundamentals: version control, automated testing, CI/CD, crash reporting and performance monitoring. You use AI coding tools in practice and understand both their value and their limits. A feel for user experience and a knack for making complex information simple. The ability to bring clarity to an environment where systems and processes are still taking shape. Experience with native iOS or Android development, offline-first apps, connected devices such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi provisioning, IoT, energy or HVAC is useful, but not essential. What matters most is that you can learn a complex physical product and take responsibility from idea to release. How you work You fix urgent problems without letting short-term workarounds become long-term architecture. You care about the details users notice, and the ones they don't. You're curious about new AI tools, try them quickly and share what works. You explain technical topics clearly to people from any background. You balance shipping today with the investments needed to scale tomorrow. You share knowledge by default and care about what the team can own together. What we offer A role with direct impact on the apps customers use at home and our teams use in the field. The chance to shape both the app platform and the experience around it. Room to improve how we use AI tools across the software team. A gross monthly salary of [€4,500 – €6,000], based on full-time employment. 27 vacation days and 8% holiday allowance. The chance to share in DeWarmte's growth through our Stock Appreciation Rights (SAR) programme. An ambitious, collaborative team and real responsibility from day one. Daily lunch at the office. A laptop, access to the AI tools we use and everything else you need to do your best work. Regular team activities, including our annual Beach Day and Winter Trip. Plenty of room to grow, develop yourself and make a lasting impact. Interested? Want to build the apps that customers and colleagues rely on every day? We'd like to meet you. Technology that speaks your language Domera Labs builds Ami, the first AI companion for seniors. Ami brings the power of a smartphone into a more human form: voice-first and deeply personalized We at Domera Labs are rethinking human-machine interaction from first principles by introducing a better interface to interact with technology: voice By combining the most intuitive hardware design with frontier AI, Ami makes AI accessible for the fastest growing demographic worldwide. The goal is to make the everyday life older adults more seamless, while addressing that generation's biggest challenge: loneliness and isolation. With Ami we are building the category leader of a new hardware paradigm by building a full standalone device (and not a gadget) that aims to makes the smartphones of today redundant. The underlying technology of Ami combines a model-agnostic streaming pipeline consisting of proprietary models and off-the-shelf frontier models to create a hyper-personalized and proactive user experience. The backbone of Ami is built by our foundational lab that builds a social intelligence model that is optimized for social interaction, human behavior and interpersonal skills. Domera Labs has secured large distribution agreements, a model co-development partnership with a leading AI lab, and ODM manufacturing proposals. We are looking for people who want to build at the intersection of human-machine interaction, mass-consumer facing hardware and shape frontier research with social/non-quantifiable benchmarking. Core Responsibilities You own the software that makes Ami work. Your primary responsibility is to architect, write and ship the on-device application and services for our mass-market consumer device, from voice interaction and cloud connectivity to onboarding, recovery and everyday reliability. You will work directly with our ODM and silicon partners to integrate that software with the underlying platform. Our target hardware uses a Qualcomm SoC with Android/AOSP or embedded Linux depending on the final platform selection. Our users are 75 years old and there is no screen, no settings menu, and no IT support. If the device does not work out of the box, it fails. Your job is to make the following work. On-device application: build and own Ami's application and services, including interaction logic, real-time audio streaming, cloud communication, local state and recovery from network interruptions or service failures Device identity and fleet management: provisioning, unique device identity, secure key storage, and the systems that let us know what every unit in the field is doing The maintenance channel: a reliable service and diagnostics path to the device (BLE, USB-C, or both) for field debugging, factory test, and recovery Out-of-the-box experience: first-boot network onboarding that a senior can complete alone, with no screen and no smartphone as a crutch. This is the single highest-stakes piece of the product Flash and update management: partition layout, A/B OTA with rollback, staged fleet rollouts, and bricking as a category of bug that never happens Base platform behaviors: boot and recovery, factory and soft resets, button and LED mappings, audio feedback, power states and battery behavior The audio front end: working with our ODM and silicon partners on mic array, echo cancellation, wake word, and the latency budget from mic to first spoken token Bringing the device through EVT, DVT, and PVT with our ODM as the technical counterpart on our side What we are looking for A builder's mindset: ship > fail > learn > improve Stay focused when multiple priorities compete and the ranking is unclear Work seamlessly across research and engineering Can navigate ambiguity and make progress in fast-moving research environments This is a founding-level position. You will work directly with the founders, shape the architecture from the ground up, and see your work in users' hands within months, not years. Technical Requirements You have shipped a connected consumer device to production, not just to a demo table. You know what goes wrong between DVT and mass production Strong hands-on experience building production device applications and services on Android/AOSP, using Kotlin or Java and C/C++ for native components and hardware integration. You can own the on-device application end to end, including background execution, connectivity, audio and integration with platform services. Experience with embedded Linux is a plus; Python proficiency for tooling and testing is expected. Experience developing for AOSP-based devices beyond standard smartphone apps: integrating privileged applications and services, working with system permissions and hardware interfaces, and collaborating with an ODM or silicon vendor on the underlying platform. Qualcomm platform experience is a plus. Wireless connectivity in the real world: Wi-Fi provisioning, BLE, and ideally cellular. You have debugged a device that would not join a network in someone's home OTA and flash: bootloaders, secure boot, A/B partitioning, rollback, and staged rollouts across a fleet You can diagnose issues across application code, platform services and hardware interfaces A builder's mindset: you'd rather ship and measure than debate Bonus : real-time audio pipelines (I2S, DSP, AEC, wake word), on-device ML inference, factory test and manufacturing line bring-up, regulatory certification (CE, FCC), power optimization for battery life, experience in NLU / NLP We lean toward senior engineers who can independently own production device software, but demonstrated ownership matters more than years of experience. Experience integrating real-time AI services into a consumer product is a plus. What you get Founding-team equity and a real say in technical direction A product with signed launch partners, not a demo in search of a market A small team, short decision paths Cash compensation range of CHF 80 - 100k with significant equity incentives Opportunity to shape the future of hardware and social intelligent AI models We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Compensation: £70K – £120K • Offers Equity • Estimated base salary £70K – £120K • Offers Equity Find Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow

Golang Backend Engineer, Financial Product Fraud
Full TimeOn-siteMid
pythonjavagokotlinrailsnode.js+7

Our Global Structure Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we're unlocking new possibilities as one global team. Your job is to make sure every payout and transaction lands with the right person. We have spent years getting very good at protecting the things a marketplace has always had to protect: checkout fraud, account takeover, courier abuse. But we are no longer only a marketplace. We now issue banking products, lend to merchants, move instant payouts to couriers, and collect cash on the doorstep. Every one of those is a new way for money to leave the platform. This is a new team, and it owns that surface: fraud wherever money moves through the platform. Who receives it, who lends it, who collects it, and who holds it in a financial account. Think instant payout rails, merchant cash advances, and platform-issued banking and earned-wage products serving millions of couriers and merchants. These are live loss surfaces, and the volume grows with every financial product we launch. We are now looking for a Backend Engineer (Golang) to build that protection. You will design and ship real-time detection and automated enforcement for our financial products across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo. The work is high-throughput, low-latency, and unusually consequential: a rule you ship on Monday can stop a serious loss by Friday. It is also close to greenfield, so you will be setting the patterns every future financial product inherits on day one. This role will be based in London , UK as one of the founding engineering roles in our London hub, working closely with our teams in Helsinki and Berlin. What you'll do: Build and maintain high-throughput, low-latency backend services in Go that score financial events in real time, including payout enrollments, bank account links, credit applications, and account-to-account transfers. Design fraud detection and automated enforcement for our financial products end to end: from signal collection through to the decision that blocks a fraudulent payout. Build on and extend our shared fraud decisioning platform, so signals, rules, and models work across all three of our brands instead of being rebuilt three times. Partner closely with risk analysts, data scientists, and product managers to turn observed fraud patterns into shipped detection, and to know when a rule, a model, or a product change is the right answer. Work across team boundaries with our account security, payments fraud, and financial product teams. We build on their signals rather than rebuild them, so clean interfaces matter. Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions as we establish the fraud infrastructure baseline for financial products, with support from senior engineers on the team. Write well-tested, observable code and help the team hold a high quality bar. In fraud, a silent failure is a loss event. Our expectations: 3 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including backend services you have shipped and owned in production. 1+ years of production experience in Golang, or strong experience in another backend language and real enthusiasm for picking Go up quickly. A working understanding of low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems. Real-time decisioning comes with a latency budget, and you are keen to learn to build inside one. Hands-on experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, and some exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar). Willingness to operate what you build, including a share of on-call, with a pragmatic approach to reliability. Uses AI tooling in day-to-day development and can critically evaluate its output for correctness and quality. Nice to have Experience in fraud, risk, payments, lending, or financial crime, especially money movement fraud, bank account linking fraud, payout abuse, or lending fraud. Experience with rules engines, real-time feature stores, or ML model serving in a decisioning path. Background in Kotlin, Java, Python, or Node.js alongside Go. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP). Experience working across multiple brands, regions, or regulatory regimes. What we value A product-oriented mindset. You think beyond the ticket, understand the "why" behind the work, and take a high level of responsibility for outcomes rather than output. Comfort with ambiguity. This is a new team on a new surface; parts of the charter are still being drawn, and you will help draw them. A track record of owning a project or feature end to end, especially in fast-paced environments. Clear and proactive communication, with a collaborative spirit. We work across three companies and several time zones, so we move fast, but we succeed together. An adversarial instinct. The best fraud engineers enjoy thinking like the attacker. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion At Deliveroo, we know that a great workplace reflects the world around us and that true diversity and inclusion make us stronger, more creative, and better at what we do. We're committed to fostering an environment where everyone can do their best work and feel they belong. We believe in equality of opportunity and welcome candidates from all backgrounds regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic background, religion, or belief. If you have a disability or long-term health condition and need support to apply for one of our roles, or require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process, you'll have the opportunity to let us know once you've submitted your application. We'll share details on how to request support so we can ensure you have a fair and equitable experience. If you're excited about making a real impact in a fast-moving marketplace and growing your career alongside ambitious, supportive teams, we'd love to hear from you!
