As a core member of the department within a leading payment processing company, you will help drive operational excellence, scale our legal tech stack, and streamline workflows. You will be responsible for managing our complex contract ecosystems, optimising team collaboration tools, and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to design modern, automated legal processes. Key Responsibilities: Legal Tech Stack & Automation Strategy: Support the administration, integration, and continuous improvement of our legal technology tools, with a heavy emphasis on Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems. AI & Process Engineering: Proactively identify opportunities to embed AI and machine learning tools into everyday legal operations, supporting the development and implementation of AI-driven efficiencies (e.g., automated contract review, AI search optimisation, legal operations chatbots, and automated triaging) to help reduce cycle times. Workflow Optimisation: Evaluate existing legal processes, identify bottlenecks in the payment processing legal pipeline (e.g., merchant agreements, vendor contracts, regulatory tracking), and engineer streamlined, scalable workflows. Data Analytics & Reporting: Design dashboards and generate metrics within Jira and CLM tools to track legal spend, turnaround times, contract volumes, and team capacity. Present actionable insights to legal leadership. Vendor & Resource Support: Help manage relationships with legal tech vendors (e.g. Brightflag) and ensure the team is maximising the value of industry resources (e.g., CLOC, ACC). Required Experience & Qualifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in Legal Operations, ideally within a fintech, payment processing, or highly regulated corporate environment. Experience working with enterprise CLM systems (e.g., Ironclad, LinkSquares, Icertis, or Conga), including template building and workflow routing. Good working knowledge of Jira, specifically designing custom workflows, queues, and SLAs in JSM, helping manage Jira Spaces, and structuring documentation in Confluence. Experience using generative AI tools, prompt engineering, or AI-backed legal tech features to build efficiencies, automate repetitive tasks, and analyse legal data. General understanding of the legal operational challenges unique to payment processing, financial services, or tech companies. Preferred Skills & Core Competencies Tech-Forward Mindset: Instead of simply using tools, look for ways to make them talk to each other. Experience with integrations (APIs, Zapier) is a massive plus. Problem-Solving & Agility : Ability to thrive in a high-volume, rapidly changing corporate environment. Project Management: Strong organisational skills with a proven ability to manage and support multiple tech implementation projects simultaneously (PRINCE2 qualification a plus, but not necessary). Collaboration & Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical or legal requirements into clear, user-friendly processes for cross-functional stakeholders such as Product, Sales and Compliance. SumUp | Senior Data Analyst - Consumer Growth | London, United Kingdom Competitive salary · Office-first This role does not support Visa sponsorship and candidates must have the right to work in the UK. About the team SumUp is best known for helping small businesses get paid — our Consumer tribe builds the other half of that story. We make SumUp Consumer, the wallet app that lets everyday consumers pay SumUp merchants with a tap, send money to friends, track their spending and earn loyalty rewards along the way. As we grow SumUp Consumer across new markets and features, we need sharp, reliable insight into how people discover, adopt and use the product — and how that behaviour translates If you want to be the person leadership turns to for an honest read of the business, and to see your analysis change real product and commercial decisions, this role is for you. What you'll do Shape commercial decisions Own the SumUp Consumer KPI framework end to end — defining which metrics matter, how they're measured and how they connect customer behaviour to commercial outcomes. Evaluate the quality of our growth: CAC, source attribution, channel performance and downstream customer value, separating headline growth from sustainable growth. Work with Risk and Anti-Fraud so fraud, abuse and economic loss are built into how we judge customers, channels and markets. Drive product decisions Diagnose where customers drop out between acquisition and activation, and which behaviours drive repeat usage, retention and lifetime value. Design and analyse A/B tests and product experiments, assessing both customer and commercial impact. Help Product Managers size opportunities and judge whether shipped features delivered the outcomes they promised. Influence with data Act as an independent analytical partner to Consumer leadership and to Product, Growth, Finance and Risk — proactively surfacing trends, risks and opportunities rather than waiting for requests. Challenge assumptions, metric definitions and interpretations constructively when the evidence points elsewhere. Build trusted reporting and help teams self-serve routine questions, so your time goes on the problems that matter most. Use AI and LLM-assisted techniques to speed up analysis, customer understanding and insight generation. You'll be great for this role if… You form your own view of why something happened and what the business should do about it — not just report what happened. You've influenced senior stakeholders with data, including changing a decision or overturning a long-held assumption. You understand the economics of a digital consumer product: acquisition, activation, retention, churn, customer lifetime value and unit economics. You're fluent in product analytics — funnel, cohort, segmentation and behavioural analysis. You have strong SQL and are comfortable querying, analysing and validating data in a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery or similar. You use a visualisation tool such as Tableau, Looker or Power BI to build reporting that stakeholders actually rely on. You turn ambiguous questions into structured analysis and tell a clear, concise story to technical and non technical audiences alike. You prioritise by business impact and are comfortable managing several stakeholders and workstreams at once. Bonus points if you have: Experience in consumer fintech, banking, payments or financial services Growth or marketing analytics experience, including attribution, CAC and channel performance (e.g. AppsFlyer, Google Analytics) Experience modelling customer lifetime value or unit economics Experience partnering with fraud, abuse or risk teams Depth in experimentation design and the statistics behind it Familiarity with dbt or experience working alongside Analytics Engineers Python or R for advanced analysis Why you should join SumUp 🌎 Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our central London Bridge location, wrapped in historic charm and modern flair. This involves an office-first setup 🌈 Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced 🚀 Enrolment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in SumUp's future success 🏖 Generous time off: enjoy 28 days of paid leave, plus bank holidays and special leaves 📚 A dedicated annual L&D budget for attending conferences and/or advancing your career through further education 🏥 Health matters: private health insurance, including optical and dental 🚗 Life made easier: salary-sacrifice commuter benefits via Gogeta 💼 Financial security: retirement scheme (SumUp matches 7% when you contribute 5%) 🛡 Peace of mind: life insurance from MetLife for 2× your salary 🌴 Break4me: 1-month sabbatical after 3 years of service 🔗 Referral Bonus: earn additional rewards by referring talented individuals to join the SumUp team About SumUp Be empowered to do more that matters. At SumUp, we're on a mission to empower small businesses across the globe by providing simple and affordable tools that allow them to thrive. Today, over 4 million businesses in 37 markets rely on SumUp as their financial partner to manage payments, finance and customer relationships. Our commitment to small businesses is reflected in our diverse team of over 3,000 SumUppers from over 90 nationalities, united by global collaboration and an innovative mindset. Our core values lay the foundation for who we are and what we stand for, shaping our work culture and driving our success. We foster inclusivity and a continuous learning culture, providing a safe space for personal and professional growth. Our differences make us unique and strong as we strive to create an environment where everyone belongs and feels supported, no matter how they identify. SumUp is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, actively seeking and embracing diversity in our workforce. We don't make hiring or employment decisions based on race, colour, religion or religious belief, ethnic or national origin, nationality, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other basis protected by applicable laws or prohibited by company policy.
