Engineering Lead – AI Enablement (m/f/d)
Full TimeOn-siteLead
platform engineeringllmarchitecturetaxinsurancecompliance+2

Raisin is the world's leading platform for savings and investment products. Founded in 2012, the FinTech connects consumers with banks in the EU, the UK and the US. This gives consumers better interest rates and banks a diversified form of refinancing . Our vision is to offer savings and investments without barriers and thus open up the global 160 trillion euro market. Raisin currently employs more than 800 people from over 75 countries worldwide. Today, the platform holds over 80 billion euros in assets from more than one million investors which have accrued over 5 billion euros in returns. Team AI Enablement builds Raisin's internal AI platform. We make it easy and safe for every team, from engineering and product to business operations, to use AI in their daily work and in the products they build. We provide the shared foundation for that: governed access to AI models and tools, the controls that keep data secure and usage auditable, and the visibility teams need to run AI reliably and cost-effectively. We also shape how Raisin builds software with AI, from AI-assisted coding to agentic workflows that support teams across the development lifecycle. Because Raisin operates in regulated financial services, security and compliance are core to how we design the platform. The team is growing, and you will shape both what it builds and how it works. Your Responsibilities As Engineering Lead, you lead the engineers who build Raisin's internal AI platform and drive the company's AI-assisted engineering practices. You are accountable for the team's delivery, growth, and maintaining the AI platform users' trust. You stay close to the technology, because in a field that changes this quickly, good leadership decisions depend on understanding the technical details. Lead and grow the team Hire, onboard, and develop engineers, and build a team that works autonomously across platform engineering, infrastructure, and AI. Hold regular 1:1s, set clear expectations, and agree individual development plans with each engineer. Give timely feedback, recognise strong performance, and address low performance early. Create an environment of trust, open communication, and continuous learning, so the team keeps up with a fast-moving field without burning out. Own delivery and operations Own end-to-end delivery, from planning and estimation through implementation and release, balancing new capabilities with reliability and maintenance. Make sure the platform runs well in production: on-call, incident handling, and service levels for the systems other teams rely on. Spot risks and blockers early and resolve them, or escalate in time with a clear proposal. Turn the AI strategy into quarterly goals and a roadmap the team commits to, together with your manager and stakeholders. Run the platform as a product Work with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to understand their needs and decide what the platform should offer next. Measure adoption, reliability, cost, and impact, and use that data in planning and when reporting to leadership. Manage the cost of AI usage and tooling, including budgets, licences, vendor relationships, and build-versus-buy decisions. Shape the technical direction Work with the team's tech leads on architecture and key technical decisions, and stay hands-on in design discussions, reviews, and selected implementation work. Work with security, legal, and compliance colleagues to keep the platform and the company's use of AI secure and compliant. Help engineering teams across Raisin adopt AI in their work through documentation, workshops, and direct support. Your Profile What you bring 3+ years leading engineers as an Engineering Manager, Engineering Lead, or Team Lead, including hiring and performance management. 7+ years in software engineering overall, with a background in backend, platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling. Experience leading a team that builds for internal customers, such as a platform, developer tooling, or shared services used by other engineers. A track record of delivering production systems that other teams depend on, including ownership of their reliability. A practical understanding of modern AI integration, such as LLM APIs, AI coding assistants, and agentic workflows, deep enough to evaluate technical decisions and challenge the team. You use AI tools in your own work. Clear communication with engineers, product, and business stakeholders, and fluency in English. Nice to have Experience with AI platform topics such as model access, governance, observability, rate limiting, or cost management. You have driven adoption of new tools or practices across an engineering organisation. Experience leading distributed or hybrid teams. Experience in a regulated industry such as banking or fintech. You don't need to tick every box. If you have led a platform or developer-tooling team and you are excited about what AI changes for engineering, we would like to hear from you. Join our mission, join our team – and grow with us! At Raisin, we care about each other and it is one of our top priorities to foster an open and caring environment in which everyone feels welcome and comfortable. Our culture is strongly driven by our ambitious team, which connects more than 75 different nationalities. As part of our team, you will benefit from: Employee Development Budget of €2,000 and four full training days per year. Flexible working hours, home office and 30 vacation days. A company pension scheme (Betriebliche Altersvorsorge), which we support with 20%. Enjoy more than 50+ different sports with Urban Sports Club: We subsidize your membership with more than €20 per month. Do you miss being in the office? The Deutschland Ticket gets you there, which we subsidize with €25 per month. Love cycling? With JobRad, lease the bike of your choice and enjoy tax savings, plus Raisin covers your monthly insurance costs. Hungry all the time? Bike Club is changing the way families access children's bikes. Through our subscription model, we make it easy for families to get the right bike at the right time, while keeping bikes in circulation for longer. We are a purpose-led, fast-growing business with a strong focus on customer growth, retention and building a more circular approach to children's cycling. Tasks The Opportunity This is a high-trust, high-exposure role for an ambitious graduate or early-career professional who wants to understand how a growing, purpose-led business really works. You will work closely with the Chief of Staff, Executive Chair and People Manager, and will regularly attend Executive Management, Senior Leadership Team and other key business meetings. You will keep the leadership rhythm running smoothly: organising meetings, preparing information, capturing decisions, following up actions and making sure important work does not get lost between conversations. Alongside this, you will support People operations and take ownership of essential business administration, with AI as a genuine part of how you work rather than an afterthought. The role offers unusual breadth and visibility across strategy, operations, governance, and the People function. It is a practical learning opportunity for someone who is curious, commercially minded, comfortable experimenting with AI tools, and keen to build a career in startups or scale-ups. Purpose Of The Role To make the Executive Chair, Chief of Staff and People Manager more effective by providing excellent coordination, preparation and follow-through. By taking ownership of recurring administration and the operating rhythm around leadership and People processes, and by using AI thoughtfully to simplify and speed up that work, you will free senior leaders to focus on strategy, decision-making and delivery. Key Responsibilities Leadership meetings and Executive Support Coordinate diaries and meeting schedules for the Executive Chair and the SLT, resolving clashes and helping prioritise competing demands. Run the administration for Executive Management, SLT and other key meetings, including forward schedules, agendas, papers, room or video arrangements and attendance. Attend key meetings to take clear notes, record decisions and maintain action logs, following up with owners ahead of deadlines. Coordinate the timely collection and formatting of leadership and Board materials, ensuring papers are complete, consistent and ready for review. Prepare and format presentations, briefing notes, reports and other documents, using AI and digital tools to improve quality and speed, from drafting and summarising to formatting and proofing. Support travel, offsites, workshops and company events, including logistics, materials and follow-up. Handle correspondence and sensitive information with sound judgement, discretion and professionalism. Support the planning and coordination of company events. Business Administration & Project Coordination Maintain central trackers for priorities, decisions and actions, giving leaders a reliable view of progress and overdue items. Support the Chief of Staff with cross-functional projects by coordinating inputs, setting up working sessions, tracking milestones and escalating blockers. Help gather and organise information for company KPIs, monthly reporting and strategic initiatives, using AI tools to speed up collation and surface what matters. Provide practical support across the business, including supplier coordination, record keeping, shared filing systems and ad-hoc problem-solving. People Coordination & Employee Experience Act as a friendly, reliable first point of contact for employees on HR administrative matters. Manage the People inbox, triaging and responding to routine employee queries, and escalating anything sensitive or complex. Manage and maintain accurate employee records in HiBob, including new starters, leavers and employee changes. Assist with recruitment administration, including scheduling interviews, liaising with candidates and hiring managers, and posting job adverts. Support the coordination of new starter onboarding, including preparing onboarding materials, scheduling induction sessions, and ensuring new joiners have what they need for a smooth first day and first few weeks. Collate and check payroll inputs, such as new starters, leavers, changes to pay, benefits and working patterns, ready for submission. Using AI to Simplify People and Business Processes Actively look for opportunities where AI can simplify or speed up People and business administration, from HiBob data and payroll prep to recruitment coordination and reporting. Help build simple, reusable AI-supported templates and workflows for recurring tasks, such as onboarding materials, meeting notes, standard employee correspondence and report summaries. Use AI tools responsibly and in line with data protection and confidentiality requirements, particularly where employee or sensitive data is involved, always applying your own judgement and checking outputs before they're used or shared. Bring a curious, practical mindset to new AI tools and ways of working, and share what you learn with the wider People and Executive team. Requirements What We Are Looking For We are more interested in your potential, judgement and approach than in a long list of previous job titles. You may be a recent graduate or have gained early experience in administration, operations, HR, or project coordination. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines. Clear and confident written and verbal communicator who can adapt to different audiences. Proven experience in diary management and scheduling for senior stakeholders. Excellent attention to detail, particularly when handling sensitive employee data, and comfortable checking information before it goes to senior stakeholders.
