The opportunity: Full Stack Engineer As a Full Stack Engineer, you will take primary ownership of our frontend experience while being capable of making the backend changes needed to unblock yourself and your team. You'll work closely with Backend Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance products end-to-end, from pixel to API. Given that most of our team is located in the Netherlands, we only consider candidates for this position who live within commuting distance of our office in Amsterdam. What you'll do in this role Design, develop, and maintain frontend components in Angular (and Lit HTML where applicable), ensuring optimal performance, responsiveness, and usability. Own the integration layer between frontend and backend: consume and contribute to OpenAPI-defined APIs, handle data contracts, and wire up microservices cleanly. Make targeted backend changes, new endpoints, tweaks to existing services, minor data model updates, so you can ship features without always depending on a dedicated backend engineer. Contribute to architectural discussions across the full stack, from UI component structure to API design and data access patterns. Participate actively in code reviews, providing feedback on both frontend and backend code quality, adherence to standards, and performance. Mentor and support junior engineers across the stack. Stay current with evolving frontend and full-stack best practices. What you bring to the table 3+ years of experience in frontend or full stack engineering. Strong proficiency in Angular and experience with component-based frameworks such as Lit HTML. Solid understanding of responsive design, UX/UI principles, and a keen eye for design detail. Proven experience integrating with APIs and microservices, you understand HTTP, REST conventions, auth flows, and error handling deeply. Working proficiency in Python, enough to navigate a FastAPI codebase, add or adjust endpoints, and write Pydantic models and SQLAlchemy queries. Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) at the query and schema level. Experience with containerised workflows using Docker. Excellent problem-solving skills; comfortable working independently and collaboratively. Strong English communication skills and ability to work across disciplines. Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) as part of daily workflow. Familiarity with LLM API integration (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) and an understanding of the UX patterns specific to AI-powered features. What success in the first 6 months looks like You've built trust with Backend, DevOps, and Product peers and taken clear ownership of 2–3 frontend domains, including their design system consistency and API integration contracts. You've delivered frontend features end-to-end, from UX design discussion through Angular implementation, API wiring, tests, and documentation, without needing hand-holding at either layer. You've unblocked yourself (and others) by making safe, well-reviewed backend changes: adding an endpoint, adjusting a response model, or optimising a query, rather than waiting in a queue. You've raised frontend quality: responsive across devices, accessible, consistent with our design system, and validated against real API contracts rather than mocks. You've contributed to meaningful observability on the frontend, error tracking, performance budgets, and linked them to backend SLIs where relevant. You've shared knowledge through documentation, code reviews, and mentoring, so the team's frontend capability grows with you. Current tech stack We're fully cloud-native on AWS, with a lean, API-first product development approach. Frontend: Angular · Lit HTML · Headless Wagtail · WordPress Backend: Python · FastAPI · Pydantic · SQLAlchemy · MySQL · Neo4j Platform: AWS · Kubernetes · Terraform · Docker · GitHub Actions · ruff · UV · pre-commit · Renovate Our platform runs on Kubernetes-managed services and Terraform for infrastructure as code. We continue expanding capabilities in knowledge graphs (Neo4j) and modern data access patterns. What we offer: Impactful work that helps patients gain access to potentially lifesaving treatments. International work environment, scale-up energy and a flat organizational structure that encourages creativity and accountability. Competitive salary, annual performance bonus and an Employee Stock Option Plan. Great career development opportunities in a fast-growing company. Learning and development budget alongside internal knowledge sharing sessions. Attractive pension plan, full premium covered by myTomorrows. Hybrid working model. Policies to support working parents. Healthy lunch at the thriving Amsterdam office. Unlimited access to professional guidance by certified psychologists via OpenUp Enjoy monthly events hosted by our vibrant Culture Club as well as an annual 'myTomorrowland' company-wide celebration! Equal opportunities myTomorrows is an Equal Opportunity Employer and, beyond upholding discrimination-free practices, we are committed to cultivating a workplace where difference and diversity are protected and celebrated. The best work comes from our best selves, and we go to great lengths in supporting our team members to be just that. Find more English Speaking Jobs in Netherlands on Arbeitnow

Who we are Melotech is revolutionizing media and entertainment. We create art through technology for humans to enjoy. In just 24 months, our work has been heard, watched and loved for over 4 billion minutes worldwide. Founded by entrepreneur and investor Soheil Mirpour, we are backed by top VCs Cherry Ventures, Speedinvest and GFC, alongside world-class angels from firms such as Spotify, Blackstone and KKR. What you will do Join us as our first dedicated Data Scientist to bring order to the chaos of culture. You'll turn raw, messy data into insights to tackle the big questions: What is changing in how people find and enjoy media? Why do some bets work and others not? And where is our next opportunity? We sit on a lot of data we do not use yet, and you are the person who turns it into decisions. You work fully autonomously alongside our founder and the team, next to a backend engineer who owns the pipelines and infrastructure, so your time goes into the questions rather than the plumbing. We will walk you through exactly what we are building as you go through the process. On a typical day, your tasks may include: New data sources: finding and opening up new sources that help us make better decisions Trends and audiences: analyzing trends, audience behavior and performance to find the next growth opportunity, and proposing the next step Prediction: prototyping and deploying ML models on AWS for forecasting and content analysis, and checking whether they hold up in production Experiments: designing and reading A/B tests, holdouts and spend experiments across our products and campaigns, and telling the team where the next dollar should go Numbers people trust: owning the dashboards and reports leadership runs on, and investigating what really drives a metric when it moves AI-native workflows: using LLMs and agentic coding tools to accelerate data cleaning, analysis and reporting Who you are We look for battle-tested data scientists who understand that real impact comes from turning messy, unstructured data into business-critical insights that drive company direction. You don't just build models: you solve business problems and translate statistical findings into actions the team takes. Typically, your profile will look like this: Background: a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Math or a related quantitative field Experience: 3 or more years of hands-on data science in fast-paced business environments, at Tier 1 consultancies, Big Tech, high-growth start-ups and scale-ups, or media industry leaders Python: expert-level proficiency with the standard data science and ML frameworks, and SQL as a daily tool Data acquisition: you have brought new raw data sources into use and made them reliable enough to decide on Statistical rigour: you design and read experiments properly, you know when a signal is noise, and you have run A/B tests or causal analyses that changed a decision Models in production: you have deployed models that people actually used, and you know what it takes to keep them honest over time AI-native: extensive hands-on experience with agentic coding tools and LLMs in your data workflows From data to decision: you find the opportunity in the data and propose the next step, and your dashboards and visualizations (standard libraries or Tableau) are the ones leadership trusts Collaboration: you work well across engineering, product and business teams, and colleagues would describe you as hard-working, ambitious and persistent Pace: you thrive in a fast-paced and performance-oriented environment A big plus: you're obsessed with music, video or social media What makes this exciting You are one of the first employees of an ambitious team, changing the world of media and entertainment. Being early means every decision you make shapes our trajectory. You're not a cog in the machine but the captain of your own ship, rewarded for performance and respected for leadership. Flat hierarchies mean that your voice matters, your ideas get implemented, and your impact is immediate. We pay competitive salaries and make you an owner of the business with equity. We work remotely to give you complete freedom over your life, while meeting regularly around the world for global offsites where we strategize, bond, and push boundaries together. What the process will look like We hire on a rolling basis. Earliest starting date is always ASAP. Once you begin our process, you can progress from start to offer within a week, depending on how quickly you can move through each stage: Initial interview: 30-minute introductory call, getting to know you Case interview: 90-minute case discussion, present and debate your skills Founder interview: 90-minute interview with our CEO, going deep on all topics Offer, contract signing and onboarding Note: As we are still in stealth, you will learn more about Melotech as you progress through the stages. What you will do Everything we ship runs on data, and the systems that collect, move and store that data need an owner. As Backend Engineer for Data and Orchestration, you take a data platform that grew fast and turn it into one system the whole company can rely on. You keep it running, you keep it clean, and you make it simpler every month. This is not a pure ETL or warehouse role: you work across the pipelines and the backend services they depend on. We will walk you through exactly what we are building as you go through the process. On a typical day, your tasks may include: Data collection: keeping our external data integrations reliable as sources and APIs change Pipelines and storage: owning our event-driven pipelines end to end, from orchestration (Airflow, Dagster or similar) to databases and warehouses, built to survive failures and to keep costs in check Monitoring and reliability: building the monitoring and alerting (Datadog or similar) that keeps our services and integrations healthy, and the checks on freshness, volume, schema and values that catch a wrong number before anyone downstream notices Backend services: working on the production services and APIs our data flows through, including our JavaScript backends Infrastructure and security: owning CI/CD, infrastructure as code and cloud for our data systems, plus access and secrets: who and what can reach which system, including AI tools Simplification: consolidating what grew fast into one documented system, and removing what is no longer needed Working across the team: explaining what the data can and cannot do to non-technical colleagues, and guiding junior engineers as the team grows Who you are We are looking for an engineer who runs what they build, and builds things that keep running. You have operated real production systems in a small, fast-moving company, and people trust you with them. Typically, your profile will look like this: Experience: 3 to 10 years of hands-on engineering, most of it in small or fast-growing companies where you owned production systems yourself rather than handing them to a platform team Python and backend: advanced Python, including async code and long-running data jobs, and enough backend experience to work on production services and APIs, including basic JavaScript or TypeScript backends External data: you have kept third party data integrations reliable in production, and you know how to handle rate limits, retries and changes without notice Pipelines and storage: you have designed and run event-driven, fault-tolerant pipelines handling millions of records a day, with Airflow, Dagster or task queues, on databases such as Postgres, ClickHouse, MongoDB or Redshift, and you know what they cost to run Data reliability and monitoring: your systems report their own problems through freshness, volume, schema and value checks, and you use Datadog or an equivalent to keep services and integrations reliable, because a wrong number that nobody noticed is the outcome you design against Infrastructure and security: you are comfortable with Docker, Terraform, CI/CD and cloud, and ideally you have run an access review and set up role-based access and secrets management Ownership and communication: you have owned a messy data setup end to end at a smaller company and left it simpler, documented and maintainable; you explain trade-offs to non-technical colleagues, push back when it matters, and have guided junior engineers or led a small team Engineering fundamentals: you learned to build solid systems before AI coding tools were everywhere, and today you use them to go faster, not to replace that judgment; you ship fast, keep the codebase clean, and take the time to understand the context before you build Pace: you thrive in a fast-paced and performance-oriented environment What makes this exciting Our data systems feed everything the company does, and you own them outright. You are not maintaining someone else's legacy: you decide how these systems should work and you make them work that way. About CircuitHub CircuitHub is reshaping electronics manufacturing with The Grid, a factory-scale robotics platform that makes small-batch, high-mix electronics assembly radically more efficient. Think semiconductor-fab precision applied to the chaotic world of prototyping and low-volume production: a 10x throughput improvement in one of the world's most foundational industries. We've raised $45M from top-tier investors including Plural, Y Combinator and Google Ventures, and we're already profitable. Our customers include a major EV maker, a top AI lab and many of the worlds largest companies. The Grid isn't a prototype. It's live, scaling fast and delivering real revenue, and we're building the team that will scale it further. The role Mechatronics Engineers at CircuitHub own projects end to end. You'll start with a problem, often on our factory floor, and take it all the way to a working machine: Understand the problem and turn it into a clear specification Generate ideas and choose the right mechanism Design it in CAD and prove it out with the engineering calculations Prototype and build it, machining parts in our in-house CNC shop Bring it to life with software on our in-house robotics operating system We work AI-first. AI tools help you scope the problem, drive your CAD, run the calculations and write the machine software. The software side needs basic software engineering skills, not a software background: you'll write it with AI agents, supported by a dedicated software engineering team who build the operating system. You must have built things before, ideally robots, whether as a hobbyist, student, employee or founder. We don't hire narrow specialists. We want engineers who can: Diagnose system-wide failures from first principles Prototype mechanical and software fixes on the fly Work autonomously and communicate clearly with a team spread across sites Take responsibility for how their machines perform in live production Things you'll do This is a design role with hands-on prototyping. For example: Conceive new mechanisms to handle electronics parts and other robotic handling tasks, using AI to scope and specify the problem Design gantries and end effectors in Fusion 360 Use AI agents to run the engineering calculations, and know when to distrust them Machine prototype parts in our in-house CNC shop Analyse end-effector behaviour from video and revise its geometry and control approach to improve throughput and reliability Program machine behaviour on our in-house robotics operating system, with AI agents doing the heavy lifting Specify sensors that catch errors while a machine is running, or monitor a chemical process Prototype and deploy a new test robot for in-line PCB validation Commission your machines and hand them over to our build team to scale up Work across our US and UK sites to share what you've learned and shape the roadmap Bonus skills Experience programming machines, whether PLCs, robot controllers, embedded systems or Python Programming and running CNC machinery Design of chemical handling machinery Optics Pay and level £45K–£125K depending on experience, plus equity. A candidate at the lower end of the range might have: Built some systems before, with some exposure to robotics or automation Seen parts and subsystems through to manufacture as part of a design team Knowledge of designing for machining A keen interest in moving their career towards practical robotics A candidate at the upper end might also have: Led the build and deployment of large-scale automated systems Written the software that controls their own machines Designed for a wide range of manufacturing methods, from machining to sheet metal to injection moulding Mentored more junior engineers The range isn't a hard limit: if you're an expert in all of the above, we still want to talk to you. Not quite so experienced but passionate and keen to learn? Talk to us too. Location Full-time on-site at one of our UK sites: Cambridge: our central Cambridge site, alongside the team designing, building and expanding the Grid. London: our London site. Compensation: £45K – £125K • Offers Equity Cambridge and London • £45K – £125K • Offers Equity Find more English Speaking Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow
Full Stack Engineer London, 4x days per week in-office Vega is looking for a Full Stack Developer to build features end to end across our platform from Java/Spring Boot services and APIs to React and TypeScript interfaces – using AI tools as a core part of how they work and helping bring AI-powered capabilities into the product. About Vega Vega is transforming the way private markets operate. Alternative asset management is one of the most influential forces in the global economy, with over $20TN in assets today. Over the next five years, the industry is set to grow 3x, but GPs are facing challenges around their ability to handle the investment flows that are coming in. GPs have been completely underserved by innovation, particularly on the investor relations side. Vega built the industry's first AI-native operating system, where all client work gets done – from the start of an investor's journey to its end. We are rethinking how work gets done in private markets from first principles: the opportunity is big, but it's also niche, high-stakes, and difficult to get right. Who we are We are still at the beginning of our journey. Vega was founded by former investors at Elliott and KKR, and built by talent from the world's leading technology and financial services firms – including Trade Republic, Revolut, Goldman Sachs, BCG, and more. We have raised $30M so far, with the backing of Apollo, Motive Partners, and 60+ senior executives from the industry. Today, we have over $300B AUM and 30,000 users on the platform, and we have much more left to do. How we do it Vega is a fast-growing startup. We want to make this a career-accelerating place for people with the ambition to build something big. If the below sounds appealing, it could be for you: We do not seek consensus. You will be expected to voice opinions and take initiative. Vega's best people do not wait to be told what to do before finding solutions to problems they have spotted. We believe bureaucracy is the killer of progress. We are focused on creating the minimum viable process to operate with quality at speed. We prioritise talent over tenure. There is no promise of progression without performance – we assess and reward people on impact above all else. We iterate fast. We make decisions amid ambiguity and with imperfect information, and we strive to balance committing to a hypothesis with iterating at low ego. We play to win. Expectations, intensity and ambition are very high, with every single colleague contributing to Vega's success. This often will not be a 9-5. We know that this culture won't be for everyone, and we endeavour to make this clear from the beginning of the recruiting process out of respect for your time. Ask yourself whether the above sounds exciting to you in practice every day, and if it does, we would love to hear from you. Who succeeds in this role We look for people who match our ambition levels, and then raise it further. In this role, you will: Own problems from scoping through shipping and iteration, working directly with business and engineering teams to turn ideas into production features across the full stack Use agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor as a core part of how you design, build, test and review software – and help shape how the team gets the most from them Work with our AI engineers to integrate AI features into the platform – wiring agents, LLM-powered workflows and MCP integrations into services and user interfaces, including streaming responses and sensible guardrails Build and maintain microservices using Java 21 and Spring Boot, contributing to an open architecture that integrates the many players in the private markets ecosystem Define, develop and optimise RESTful APIs, owning the contract between front end and back end with scalability and performance in mind Work closely with designers to turn mockups into responsive, intuitive interfaces using React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS, and contribute to the evolution of our design system and theming Ensure seamless integration with third-party systems used by PE firms, distributors, private banks and fund administrators Identify and fix bottlenecks across the stack – from data flow and service efficiency to front-end rendering and UX Champion unit, integration and end-to-end testing, and DevOps best practices Share knowledge and support other engineers, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous learning What we look for: Proven professional software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on work across both front end and back end, ideally on fintech applications Fluency with AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) as part of your everyday workflow, with sound judgement on reviewing, testing and owning AI-generated code Practical exposure to building with LLMs – e.g. calling model APIs, integrating an agent or tool-use flow, or shipping a feature on a platform such as AWS Bedrock – and an appetite to go deeper Strong backend experience with Java and Spring Boot, including designing and building microservice architectures with RESTful APIs, and proficiency with SQL and ORMs Proficiency in TypeScript, React and Tailwind CSS, with a strong grasp of responsive and mobile-first design Experience in modern cloud distributed architecture, particularly AWS, Kubernetes and Kafka Solid understanding of unit, integration and end-to-end testing, plus CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks Experience working in an agile environment with cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering) A proactive problem solver who takes initiative and brings high ambition to a fast-moving team Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on scalable solutions Strong communication skills, including explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience Why join us? You will help define the transformation of one of the most influential industries of our time with AI, working alongside an ambitious and dedicated team Competitive salary and equity package Benefits including medical insurance, gym membership, learning budget, and more Find more English Speaking Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow
We Are Sparta Sparta is the AI leader for commodity trading, home to Leonidas AI, the first operating system for oil and commodity traders. Backed by $42 million in Series B funding led by One Peak, with participation from returning investors FirstMark and Singular, the same investors behind AI leaders like Legora, Dataiku, and Synthesia. Most companies are building a chatbot on top of data. We've built an agent with an actual reasoning layer, grounded in years of proprietary market data and in-house trading expertise nobody else has. We're scaling fast, and it's an exciting time to join. From independents to multinationals, the world's leading commodity teams use Sparta and Leonidas AI to move faster, trade smarter, and stay ahead of the market. At Sparta, you'll be trusted to take ownership, backed by a team who wants you to succeed. AI is how we build here, not just what we sell. Good ideas move fast, and yours could go from staging to production in a couple of hours, whatever department you're in. You'll be challenged, supported, and given room to grow, building the AI that's changing how commodity trading gets done. Your work has reach. From shaping Leonidas AI, to powering smarter decisions for traders around the world, to changing how commodity trading is done. And because we're growing fast, you'll accelerate your career with a level of ownership and impact you simply won't get at bigger, slower-moving companies. At Sparta, we're on a mission to build the next generation of commodity trading platforms - replacing the fragmented tools that traders typically rely on with a single, powerful dashboard. Our product is a data-driven platform that aggregates real-time feeds from across the commodities domain, transforming them into intuitive, actionable visualisations within one unified interface. Users can explore pre-built data views or define their own custom formulas to create tailored insights. To deliver on this vision, our engineers tackle real distributed systems problems on a daily basis, where designing for reliability and performance at scale is essential to a seamless user experience. As we unlock the next level of scale, those problems get harder and more interesting. This role is for an engineer who wants to own meaningful parts of that system now, and grow into the technical decisions that shape it. We're looking for people who thrive in an empowered environment - engineers who are comfortable being given problems to solve rather than solutions to implement. You should enjoy working at pace, value autonomy, and prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. You won't be handed tickets. You'll be handed context, and trusted to work out the right thing to build. Whereas Sparta is a remote-first company, for this role we're looking for someone who values a hybrid working style, which in a typical week could involve spending a couple of days in the office - with flexibility built in. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Design, build and maintain the backend services behind our real-time and analytical data processing. Own features end to end, from shaping the approach to running them in production. Optimise pipelines and services for low latency, high throughput and scale. Work with engineers, product and stakeholders to stay aligned on direction. Contribute to design reviews with a clear view on the trade-offs. Keep your services healthy - observability, feedback loops, incident response. Raise the bar around you through code review, pairing and knowledge sharing. ABOUT YOU: 4+ years as a software engineer, with production systems you've built and supported. High ownership tendencies Experience in a product-focused organisation, working cross-functionally. Comfortable across multiple languages. We mainly use Kotlin, Java, Python and TypeScript. Able to reason about trade-offs - throughput, latency, consistency, cost - and explain them. At home in system design and in low-level implementation detail. Experience building and deploying services on AWS or GCP. Hands-on exposure to Kafka, Flink, Redis or clustered Postgres, and an appetite for more. Comfortable with agent-based development tools. We use Claude Code; any equivalent is fine. A clear communicator and a pragmatic problem-solver. NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE: Data-intensive applications at scale. Building and interpreting observability - metrics, logging, tracing. Working within or alongside DevOps, SRE or infrastructure teams. Complex distributed environments - high throughput, low latency, large datasets. Any exposure to commodities, energy or financial markets. Useful, but we'll teach you the domain. Why Join Sparta? At Sparta, our culture is built on innovation, collaboration, and high performance. We thrive in a fast-paced environment where initiative is celebrated, challenges are embraced, and impact is rewarded. • Equity in a high-growth, VC-backed company • $42M in Series B funding — strong market traction and investment • Early-stage growth — build your career as we scale • Market-leading product — we are redefining commodity trading intelligence • Top-tier tools and technology to support your success What's the Culture Like at Sparta? At Sparta, our culture isn't just a set of values on a wall — it's how we work. We embrace a dynamic environment where initiative is celebrated, challenges are met head-on, and innovation thrives. You'll collaborate with people who are passionate about our mission and committed to building outstanding products and outcomes for our customers. The Sparta Code Understanding is non-negotiable Understanding leads to believing. Believing leads to winning. The 'why' is the difference between compliance and conviction. Before we execute, we ask: why does this matter, who does it serve, what changes if we win? People who understand the mission don't need to be managed. Ask for forgiveness, not for permission Most decisions are reversible. Most fears are not. 90% of decisions are reversible. Make them, ship, iterate. Perfection is the enemy of efficiency. Bias for action means moving before you have all the answers, but it isn't recklessness. The rule: tell the rest of us what you did, what changed, what you learned. Fall in love with the problem The mission wins. Your idea doesn't have to. Solutions flatter our ego. They feel like progress. But solutions without problems are opinions, and opinions don't move customers, markets, or teammates. The goal is to find what's true, not to win the room. If your idea gets killed because a better one comes along, that's the system working. It's your fault. Lucky you. If it's on you, it's in your control. True ownership sounds harsh until you feel how liberating it is. If every problem is yours, you stop spending energy on who to blame and start spending it on how to fix it. Effective leaders default to 'it's on me'. Not out of guilt, but out of agency. Conflict is a gift Honesty is an expression of care. Withholding feedback is choosing comfort over growth, yours and your colleague's. Staying silent deprives others of the chance to learn. We challenge openly and with positive intent. Done with care, this builds trust. Done with ego, it destroys it. Sparta Commodities is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and promotes diversity within its workforce. We are determined that no-one will ever receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status, race, veteran status or any basis covered by appropriate law. About Niantic Spatial AI has learned from almost everything online, but it still struggles with the physical world, where 99.5% of economic activity happens. It doesn't know where things are, how spaces fit together, or what changes over time. That's one of the biggest unsolved problems in AI, and it's the one we're solving at Niantic Spatial. We build spatial AI models and services so people and machines can reason, learn and act safely in the physical world. We turn camera imagery, video, sensor data and archives into accurate, AI-readable representations of real places that robots can train in and machines can use to know exactly where they are. In physical AI, mistakes have real consequences. That's why we build AI grounded in measured reality, not guesswork, so the people and machines relying on it can trust it to get things right. Our team built some of the world's most widely used maps. Now we're building something bigger: a living, measured record of the real world that machines can query, learn from and use to understand how places change over time. If you want to help AI understand the world we actually live in, come build with us. About the Role You'll help build the geometric foundation of the next-generation world map — joining our World Map Research Engineering team (Geospatial Alignment) as a Research Engineer or Senior Research Engineer. This is an end-to-end applied research role that spans from strong engineering and data-systems work to R&D in 3D deep learning, transformers, and foundation models. You'll develop new algorithms, produce the research data and evaluation assets needed to advance them, and engineer the resulting capabilities into dependable production systems. The World Map team works with heterogeneous captures from phones and handheld devices, aerial imagery, LiDAR, and 360 cameras, as well as external geographic and elevation data. The central challenge is to harmonize these data sources, quantify uncertainty, and maintain consistency as the map evolves. You'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge research and scalable engineering — developing new approaches to geospatial registration, correspondence, and geometric optimization, then productionizing these technologies to directly improve Niantic Spatial's world model. What You'll Do Geospatial Registration — Develop and advance algorithms for world-scale georeferencing and registration across imagery, 3D reconstructions, point clouds, and geographic reference data. 3D Geometry & Correspondence — Build and improve methods spanning multi-view geometry, SfM, SLAM, feature matching, learned correspondence, bundle adjustment, point-cloud registration, and ICP. Data & Evaluation — Create the data and evaluation flywheel for world-scale mapping — design and maintain large-scale datasets, pipelines, benchmarks, and evaluation methodologies that expose hard failure modes, accelerate research iteration, and support production. Learning-Based 3D Reasoning — Explore and develop learning-based approaches for geospatial understanding, combining transformers and 3D foundation models with geometric priors and uncertainty modeling. Production Robustness — Design robust solutions for challenging real-world conditions: sparse or noisy GPS, changing appearance, inconsistent reconstruction quality, large geographic extents, and imperfect reference maps. Cross-Functional Collaboration — Partner with leading researchers in visual localization, 3D computer vision, and mapping — as well as engineering and product teams — to identify high-impact problems and turn research breakthroughs into end-to-end production systems. Research Communication — Share results clearly through technical writing, design reviews, and internal presentations; contribute to publications and open research where appropriate. What You'll Bring Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Machine Learning, Photogrammetry, or a closely related field — or equivalent research or industry experience. Strong grounding in 3D computer vision, machine learning, robotics, photogrammetry, or a closely related area. Demonstrated experience with 3D geometry and several relevant areas — multi-view reconstruction, SfM, SLAM, camera pose estimation, point-cloud registration, image-based localization, georeferencing, or sensor fusion. The ability to formulate ambiguous real-world problems, choose the right mathematical or learning-based tools, and evaluate solutions rigorously. Strong Python skills and experience with modern ML and scientific-computing libraries (PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy). Strong software engineering skills — you can turn research prototypes into reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems. A track record of taking an algorithm from research idea and experimental prototype through evaluation, benchmarking, and deployment on real-world data. Clear written and verbal communication; able to collaborate effectively across research and engineering disciplines. Nice to Have PhD in computer vision, robotics, machine learning, photogrammetry, geodesy, remote sensing, or a related field — not required, but valued. A strong publication record or active involvement in the research community at venues such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, SIGGRAPH, 3DV, ICRA, or RSS. Experience with learning-based approaches for visual or 3D understanding — transformers, point transformers, foundation models, or methods combining learned representations with explicit geometric priors. Experience with aerial or satellite imagery, GNSS/GPS, geodesy, mapping systems, or large-scale spatial data. Evidence of technical leadership, mentorship, or successful cross-functional delivery. Compensation & Benefits Base salary: Competitive market rate. Compensation also includes an annual bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Location & Work Model This role is based in our London office, with three days per week in office. We welcome applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship. Inclusive Application We know the strongest candidates don't always tick every box.
