Apaleo is the world's most open, API-first property management platform powering the next generation of hospitality operations. Its modular, AI-powered infrastructure enables hoteliers to customise their tech stack, automate routine work, and deliver seamless, personalised guest experiences, powered by best-in-class apps and autonomous AI agents that adapt to every stay. Why this role You are the technical voice in front of strategic customers, at a moment when hospitality is being rebuilt around AI. We are launching our own AI agent platform, and we need architects who can show operators what comes next. High trust. You own the technical answer in front of strategic customers and deals. High visibility. Your work shows up in deals, key accounts and customer stories, and it reaches Product. High freedom. You decide how to solve a problem, which tools to use and what to prototype. Fast iteration. We test ideas within days, try new technology early and share what works. Your mission Win and grow strategic accounts with technical credibility, and turn what you learn in the field into input for the product. You look at a customer's current architecture and show how an Apaleo-centred setup delivers their goals. You also help them put AI agents to work, deciding what should be an agent, what it costs and how to set it up. Sales and Account Management own the relationship and the commercial terms. You own the technical answer. What you will do Technical discovery and solution scoping. Lead discovery where a standard demo is not enough. Write clear scopes covering what Apaleo delivers natively, what needs a short-term solution and what is out of scope. Proofs of concept. Build fast, working proofs of concept (quick demos that show technical fit). Agree scope in writing first, and build in a safe test environment, never with live guest data. Agents and automations. Design and build agents and automations for customer use cases, using n8n or Make today and Apaleo's own AI agent platform as it launches. Write code where agents need deterministic steps. Hands-on delivery and short-term solutions. Work alongside the customer, building only where it unblocks a named deal, removes an adoption risk or fills a product gap. Agree an exit plan (an end date, a replacement and a named owner) before you start. Post-sale health checks and expansions. Diagnose gaps against the go-live specification, run proactive checks (for example 90 days after go-live) and scope integrations for expanding customers. Reusable assets. Turn every engagement into a reference architecture, pattern or template that the next twenty customers can use. Thought leadership. Join prospect and customer conversations on how AI will change hospitality over the next two to three years. Product feedback. Test new technology on real customer problems. Share prototypes and field evidence with Product, ending every experiment with a clear decision: adopt, hand over or drop. How you work You decide the approach, the stack and the order of work. You protect three guardrails: written scope before a proof of concept, an exit plan before a custom build and no commercial promises. You go from idea to prototype in days and show it early. You think in systems and build for reuse, not one-off projects. You share findings openly with Sales, Account Management and Product. Who you work with Sales/BD and Account Management (they call you in at defined deal triggers), Customer Success, Product, Security, Partnerships, RevOps and Senior Leadership. What you bring Must have Multiple years in solution architecture, solution engineering or technical consulting in B2B SaaS, ideally with complex software such as ERP or enterprise platforms Strong API skills: REST, authentication, webhooks and events, and data-flow design Hands-on workflow automation (n8n preferred) and practical experience building with LLM agents A systems thinker with real AI curiosity, who uses AI tools day to day Stakeholder management experience and credibility with executives and IT teams Self-direction, an ownership mindset and the discipline to say no to scope that does not advance a deal Curiosity that ends in working prototypes, not just opinions Clear, structured documentation habits Fluent English and French skills Willingness to travel, including regularly to France and the UK Strong plus Hospitality or travel experience, including hotel operations and PMS concepts (reservations, folios, rate plans, night audit) Experience with another cloud PMS, channel manager or payments integrations Enterprise architecture experience on large, multi-site projects Applied AI or ML background, or experience with MCP and agent platforms SQL and BI fundamentals How we measure success Architecture engagements and blueprints delivered each quarter Customer satisfaction with your contribution Adoption of recommended apps, integrations and agents Share of engagements served by an existing reusable pattern Revenue impact e.g. deal unblocked, AI adoption, or churn averted Your first 90 days Days 1 to 30: Learn the platform and ways of working, shadow discovery and proof of concept work, and take over open customer projects. Days 31 to 60: Lead technical discovery on live deals and run your first health check with Account Management. Days 61 to 90: Deliver a proof of concept or short-term solution end to end with an exit plan, and share your first experiment with Product. Join the Fuse team — the team responsible for the item data management capabilities that connect Bloomreach Data Hub with Marketing, Search, Recommendations, and emerging Loomi agent use cases. Fuse owns and evolves the systems behind Data Hub item collections : ingesting items data, transforming and validating it, managing data schemas and lifecycle, and distributing data reliably to downstream Bloomreach products. Item collections provide a unified source of data that can be used across all Bloomreach products. Our current areas of focus include: Unified items data pipelines : processing records into structured items and keeping data synchronized with Marketing and Search destinations. Catalog APIs and lifecycle management : customer-facing and internal APIs, catalog creation and naming, schemas, destinations, migrations, and backward-compatible evolution. Scalable storage and indexing : operating and improving systems built on PostgreSQL, Bigtable, Elasticsearch, Solr. Reliable jobs execution : submission, queueing, execution, progress reporting, retries, cancellation, rate limiting, and operational tooling. Cross-product capabilities : catalog data triggers, multi-dimensional data support, custom item types, catalog data enrichment, recommendations, and semantic catalog profiles for agentic use cases. As a Senior SRE, you will be the team's reliability and operability leader . You will work alongside backend engineers, embedded QA, Product, and Engineering Management to make complex product-data systems observable, scalable, safe to release, and straightforward to operate. Fuse embraces AI-assisted engineering. We expect engineers to use modern coding agents thoughtfully to accelerate investigation, development, testing, documentation, and operational work while retaining full ownership of correctness, security, and production outcomes. Working from one of our Central European offices (Bratislava, Prague, or Brno), or remotely (Czechia, Slovakia) on a full-time basis, you'll become a core part of the Engineering organization. What challenge awaits you? As a P3 Senior SRE at Bloomreach, you are an independent reliability professional who can turn ambiguous operational problems into measurable improvements and lead initiatives end-to-end with minimal day-to-day guidance. Your challenge will be to make Fuse's distributed data platform dependable across the complete data path: customer or integration → Data Hub API → records and transformations → items → asynchronous jobs execution engine → storage and indexes → Marketing, Search, Recommendations, and Loomi consumers Your responsibilities a. Platform reliability and observability Own and improve the reliability posture of Fuse services, workers, APIs, queues, storage systems, and destination synchronization pipelines. Establish meaningful SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for customer-facing APIs, asynchronous jobs, catalog data freshness, destination synchronization, and indexing. Build end-to-end observability across Data Hub item collections, from API request and job submission through processing, persistence, indexing, and downstream delivery. Ensure engineers can trace a workspace, item collection, catalog, or job across services without manually correlating disconnected logs and database records. Create and maintain actionable dashboards, alerts, and service health views using Grafana, Prometheus-compatible metrics, OpenTelemetry, PagerDuty, and GCP tooling. Detect missing, stalled, duplicated, or inconsistent processing before customers or downstream teams report it. Improve capacity planning and autoscaling using workload telemetry, queue depth, processing throughput, latency, memory usage, storage growth, and customer-level traffic patterns. Reduce noisy alerts and replace symptom-based monitoring with signals tied to customer impact. b. Reliability of catalog storage and indexing Improve the availability, scalability, and operability of catalog data across PostgreSQL/Cloud SQL, Bigtable, Elasticsearch, GCS, Kafka, and related storage systems. Support catalog placement, routing, index lifecycle, shard management, safe migration, and recovery across multiple Elasticsearch clusters. Develop safeguards for full replacements, delta updates, deletions, schema changes, destination changes, and catalog reindexing. Define and automate data-consistency checks between source records, transformed items, job state, Bigtable, Elasticsearch, and downstream destinations. Help establish practical platform limits and quotas for catalog size, API traffic, job concurrency, queue depth, payload size, and expensive operations. Partner with engineers on performance testing for large catalogs and high-throughput customer workloads. c. Infrastructure, deployments, and release safety Own and evolve Kubernetes configuration and operational infrastructure for Fuse components. Improve deployment automation, progressive rollout, rollback, and validation across development and production environments. Make coordinated releases safer when changes span app/app , Fuse workers, Kubernetes configuration, and PostgreSQL migrations. Automate operational procedures that currently depend on manual commands, one-off scripts, or specialist knowledge. Maintain CI/CD pipelines with tests, linters, dependency management, security checks, image publication, and release verification. Create reusable tooling for local development, ephemeral environments, end-to-end testing, load testing, and production diagnosis. Ensure runbooks remain executable and are validated through exercises rather than existing only as documentation. d. Incident management and L3 support Participate in and help improve the Fuse L3/on-call rotation . Lead incident investigation, mitigation, stakeholder communication, and follow-up for Fuse-owned systems. Use logs, metrics, traces, database state, queue state, and Kubernetes signals to diagnose failures across distributed workflows. Build safe operational tools for common support activities such as job tracing, queue inspection, rate-limit diagnosis, catalog health checks, and index recovery. Facilitate blameless incident reviews and ensure resulting actions address root causes rather than only immediate symptoms. Improve the handoff between customer support, L2, Fuse L3, Infrastructure, and dependent engineering teams. Reduce recurring support demand by turning incident knowledge into safeguards, automation, tests, dashboards, and clear documentation. e. Security, isolation, and compliance Help Fuse meet Bloomreach security and compliance requirements, including ISO and SOC 2 controls. Enforce least-privilege access, workload identity, service-level authentication and authorization, secret rotation, encryption, and auditability. Protect customer isolation across workspaces, item collections, projects, accounts, databases, indexes, buckets, and asynchronous jobs. Ensure operational tooling and incident procedures respect production-access restrictions and PII-handling requirements. Partner with engineering teams to make security controls observable and testable rather than relying on undocumented assumptions. f. Reliability by design Participate early in the design of new Fuse capabilities so reliability, recovery, observability, limits, and operational ownership are defined before implementation. Review designs for failure modes, retry behavior, idempotency, backpressure, ordering, consistency, timeout handling, cancellation, and safe rollout. Clarify ownership boundaries and service contracts with teams including Campaigns, Data Pipeline, Integrations, Discovery, Recommendations, Infrastructure, Frontend, and QA. Help teams choose architectures that balance immediate delivery with long-term operability and cost. Coach engineers in production readiness, operational testing, debugging, and sustainable on-call practices. Our tech stack Primary languages: Go, Python, SQL APIs and application: REST APIs, Python application monolith, Go workers and services, Java Infrastructure: GCP, Kubernetes/GKE, internal Kubernetes deployment tooling Databases and storage: PostgreSQL/Cloud SQL, Bigtable, Elasticsearch, GCS, MongoDB, Redis Messaging and coordination: Kafka, ETCD, asynchronous job queues Observability: Grafana, Prometheus-compatible metrics, OpenTelemetry, GCP Logging and Monitoring, PagerDuty CI/CD and collaboration: GitLab, Jira, Confluence Testing: Go and Python unit/integration tests, API and end-to-end automation, performance testing AI-assisted engineering: Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Gemini CLI, or comparable tools You do not need to have used every technology listed. You should, however, have operated distributed production systems and be comfortable learning unfamiliar components while diagnosing real incidents. Your qualifications Professional experience Impact You can show how your reliability work improved customer outcomes, engineering velocity, deployment confidence, or operational sustainability. You have introduced practices or tooling that changed how a team builds and operates production systems. You can define meaningful reliability measures and demonstrate improvement using data. Ownership You embrace the you build it, you run it principle and remain accountable from design through production operation. You can lead ambiguous reliability initiatives without requiring a fully prescribed solution. You take incidents from detection through mitigation, root-cause analysis, and prevention. You are cost-aware and use telemetry, capacity planning, and architecture—not guesswork—to manage cloud spend. Systematic approach You treat observability, limits, runbooks, rollback, idempotency, and recovery as part of the product design. You design for partial failure in distributed systems. You distinguish symptoms from root causes and prioritize systemic improvements over repeated manual intervention. You are comfortable working in systems where a single customer operation crosses multiple services, queues, databases, and team boundaries. Data-driven engineering You use metrics, logs, traces, profiling, and workload data to form and validate hypotheses. You can turn operational telemetry into actionable feedback for developers and Product. You are comfortable analyzing throughput, latency, saturation, error rates, queue behavior, database performance, and storage growth. Senior Analytics Engineer The Data Science & Analytics team at Asana is how the company turns data into decisions — defining the questions that matter, surfacing the answers, and making sure insight is at the center of every critical product and business call . As a Senior Analytical Engineer, you sit at the intersection of Data Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science, and you own the data foundations for a business domain end to end. Your mandate is to turn raw data into reliable, business-ready datasets that PMs, analysts, data scientists, and leaders actually trust and use — and to define the business logic and metric standards that make AI-powered self-serve trustworthy. You consume governed Silver tables and produce the Gold layer and semantic layer beneath Asana's most important metrics, dashboards, and Genie spaces. This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule . The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday . Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays . Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do, and your recruiter can share more about the in-office requirements . What you'll achieve Own the Gold layer for a given business domain (e.g., PLG funnel, marketing attribution, revenue, NPI/AWM): Design and continuously improve the curated, dimensional data models that downstream dashboards, Genie spaces, and ELT reporting depend on. Implement the canonical business logic behind your domain's core KPIs: Translate KPIs into governed, versioned metric marts that resolve "this number doesn't match" disputes for good. Build and curate the semantic layer and Genie spaces that power self-serve in your domain: Author the metadata, documentation, and prompt/metric definitions that let stakeholders query governed data in plain language through Claude and Databricks Genie. Own the metric dictionary for your domain: a single source of truth for what each metric means, who owns it, and where to find it. Partner with peers across DS&A to keep KPI definitions consistent where domains overlap. Author data contracts and SLAs at the Silver→Gold boundary, partnering with Horizontal Data Engineering on the inputs you depend on, and owning data quality, freshness, and oncall for Gold/metric-mart failures in your domain. Build and maintain certified, board-ready dashboards on governed Gold data, partnering with Data Science to translate insight requirements into trusted, reusable products rather than one-off builds. Partner directly with Product & Business, Data Science, and Engineering to turn ambiguous, underspecified questions into scalable datasets — anticipating downstream reporting impacts before they become incidents, and raising the data-model quality bar across the domains you touch. About you Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making . 4+ years in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related analytics role, with a track record of independently owning the data models a team relies on for decisions . Advanced SQL and strong data modeling fundamentals: dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions, and semantic layer design. Hands-on experience with a transformation framework (dbt or equivalent), orchestration tooling (e.g. Airflow), version control (Git), and modern warehouse/lakehouse platforms (Databricks experience preferred). Practical experience with data quality testing and observability, schema management and data contracts, and query/model performance and cost tuning. Demonstrated domain fluency in at least one business area (e.g. PLG funnels, SLG pipeline, marketing attribution, Product telemetry, revenue/ARR) and the judgment to translate "I don't trust this number" into a specific, durable model fix. Strong cross-functional partnership skills: requirement gathering, prioritization, documentation and enablement, driving alignment on metric definitions, and explaining technical tradeoffs to non-technical partners . Curiosity about AI-native a nalytics — NL2SQL, metadata/semantic layers for self-serve, and using tools like Claude and Genie to multiply your reach rather than replace rigor. Exposure to Unity Catalog, Looker/LookML, or reverse-ETL/activation (Salesforce, Marketo, Gainsight) is a plus At A sana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission . If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply . What we'll offer Generous, transparent and fair compensation system (base salary and RSUs) Health insurance with dental Breakfast and lunch catering on the da ys that you work from the office Home office setup budget Gym/Fitness card Fertility healthcare and family-forming support with Carrot Mental Health Support in Modern Health Group life insurance MacBo oks with all necessary accessories For this role, the estimated base salary range is between $106,000 - $120,000 CAD annually . The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process . The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified . In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity and sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits . If you're interviewing for this role, speak with your recruiter to learn more about the total compensation and benefits for this role . #LI-Hybrid About us Asana is a leading platform for human + AI collaboration. About Us Since 2013, we've been building a CRM that gets out of your way and helps your team sell more, faster. Now we're building AI into every part of it, so Close does the busywork and your team does the selling. No manual data entry, no 10-click workflows. Just communication-first, AI-powered sales software designed to help you succeed and scale. We're bootstrapped and profitable which means we answer to our customers and play by our rules. We're proud of our 120-person, 100% remote team, focused on building Close so that no small, scaling business fails because it can't figure out sales. About the Role Close is a CRM built around the communication tools sales teams use every day: email, calling, SMS, workflows, reporting, and AI. Underneath that product is a broad technical surface — Python services and a large application backend, a TypeScript and React frontend, public APIs, Docker and Kubernetes, AWS infrastructure, and integrations with providers that handle sensitive customer data. Security work happens across it all today, but the ownership is spread across Engineering, Infrastructure, and Security & Trust. We're hiring our first dedicated Product Security Engineer to make that work systematic. You'll report to the Backend Platform team manager within EPD (Engineering, Product, and Design), while working across the entire product and infrastructure surface. You'll find vulnerabilities, determine which findings matter most, and drive them through remediation. Often you'll fix the problem yourself. Other times you'll give the owning team a clear reproduction, a practical path forward, and enough context to prioritize correctly. You'll analyze code, build proof-of-concepts, test running applications, tune or replace noisy tools, and automate the repetitive parts of vulnerability management. This is not a role where you forward scanner alerts and call the queue managed. Product and application security will be your responsibility. You'll partner closely with our Infrastructure team on cloud security, access, and secrets, and with our Security & Trust Lead on GRC Engineering , compliance (SOC 2) goals, audits, and corporate security. This role is a new one at Close. You'll have significant room to decide where better tooling, clearer ownership, and a small amount of code can reduce the most risk. Our stack Our backend is primarily Python, with Flask and FastAPI services and TaskTiger and Temporal handling much of our asynchronous work. We expose REST and GraphQL APIs and store data in MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and Redis. Our frontend is a large single-page TypeScript application built primarily with React. We bundle with Vite, target modern browsers, and test with Vitest, React Testing Library, Playwright, and Chromatic. The product updates in near real time and uses technologies including WebSockets and WebRTC. Our mobile application is built with React Native. We build and test Docker images in CI/CD and continuously deploy them to Kubernetes on AWS. Our infrastructure uses managed services including EKS, MSK, and ElastiCache, alongside services running on EC2. Terraform and Ansible automate much of the underlying infrastructure, and our containerized local development environment lets engineers run the full system on their own machines. For this role, our stack extends beyond simply backend or frontend: browser behavior, frontend state, API authorization, asynchronous processing, data access, third-party integrations, containers, and cloud configuration can all be part of the same attack path. We love open sourcing our code and ideas on our GitHub and on The Making of Close , our behind-the-scenes Product & Engineering blog. Check out our open source projects like SocketShark , TaskTiger , LimitLion and ciso8601 . AI is both how we build and what we ship, and that's reshaped what engineering looks like. This is a transformation we're embracing and find deeply exciting. You are An application security engineer who writes code. You can move from reading an unfamiliar code path, to reproducing an exploit, to proposing or shipping a production-quality fix. Strong Python or TypeScript experience would be especially useful; fluency across both backend and frontend systems is even better. Skilled at finding vulnerabilities conventional scanners may miss. You use modern AI-assisted review pipelines, guided by expert judgment, to uncover subtle flaws in web apps and APIs—from authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation to injection, SSRF, unsafe data flows, and business logic. You can threat-model designs, white-box review code, and test running systems. Offensive-minded and operationally responsible. You know how to test like an attacker without being careless with customer data or production systems. You can turn a finding into a safe reproduction, assess exploitability and business impact, and retest the eventual fix. An automation builder. You have worked with some mix of SAST, DAST, software composition analysis, container scanning, secrets scanning, or cloud posture tooling. More importantly, you know how to tune tools, connect them to engineering workflows, and remove noise. AI-native and accountable. You use coding agents and LLMs to accelerate investigation, code review, and repetitive engineering work, but you verify their output. You think carefully about what happens when agents clone untrusted code, install dependencies, or receive access to credentials. Able to separate severity from priority. A score is an input, not a foregone conclusion. You consider reachability, existing controls, customer impact, and attack chains, then explain the risk in language that is legible to an engineer or business owner. Comfortable working across the business. You'll collaborate with product engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Security & Trust Lead, auditors, and external researchers without confusing partnership for pass-off ownership. You will follow findings to closure even when another team is responsible for the fix. Self-directed in a remote environment. You can take an ambiguous surface (say, secret rotation or dependency remediation) and learn how it works across multiple systems then turn it into a practical plan with measurable progress. You do not need to arrive as the deepest expert in every part of this scope. You do need to be able to investigate an unfamiliar system, determine what matters, and bring the right people with you. You will The work spans hands-on application security, security automation, vulnerability management, and infrastructure partnership. Depending on where you find the greatest risk and leverage, projects could include: Build a recurring product security review program. Threat model new features, audit high-risk areas, review code, and build safe proof-of-concepts in isolated development environments. Work across our backend, frontend, APIs, and customer-facing integrations. Improve application security testing. Combine static analysis, dependency and secrets scanning, dynamic testing in development, and carefully scoped production testing. Use existing tools where they fit and build focused automation where they don't. Own vulnerability intake and remediation. Triage findings from HackerOne, scanners, penetration tests, audits, customers, and internal research. Reproduce issues, assess exploitability and impact, track remediation, and verify fixes. Serve as technical lead for our bug bounty program while contract and budget ownership remain elsewhere. Turn security alerts into useful engineering work. Verify scanner coverage and automate ingestion, deduplication, enrichment, prioritization, and routing—so teams spend less time interpreting alerts and more time fixing important issues. Make dependency remediation safer and less manual. Improve scanning across our Python and TypeScript codebases, then build workflows to assess upgrades, stage pull requests, run checks, and route work without exposing credentials to untrusted packages or build steps. Make secrets routinely rotatable. Partner with service owners and Infrastructure to inventory application secrets, add graceful rotation paths, document provider-specific runbooks, and automate rotation where the provider and risk justify it. Expand our use of Vault-backed dynamic credentials and reduce the number of rotations that require a coordinated fire drill. Strengthen AWS security with Infrastructure. Evaluate and improve automated detection of risky configuration across identity, networking, compute, storage, containers, and registries. Turn findings into secure defaults, just-in-time access patterns, infrastructure guardrails, and actionable remediation—not build a second Infrastructure team. Support audits and raising the security floor. Partner with Security & Trust on external assessments, provide technical context, and ensure findings are fixed rather than rediscovered. Along the way, create documentation, paved roads, and lightweight training that helps engineers make safer choices without waiting for a security review. Take a key technical role in security incident response. Partner with Engineering and Infrastructure to coordinate investigation, containment, and remediation. Contribute to root-cause analysis and follow-up improvements, translating lessons learned into stronger controls and reduced recurrence. Tech you'll touch: Python, TypeScript, React, Flask, FastAPI, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Vault, GitHub Actions, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch and the security tooling you help us choose. Benefits Compensation: Competitive pay plus an organization-wide goal-based bonus Paid Time Off: ~5 weeks of PTO to start. Plus a 1-week all-company Winter Holiday Break and paid US holidays. You'll earn 2 extra days for every year you're with Close. 80% Work Option: Work with your manager to choose between a standard 5-day week or a 4-day week at 80% pay Parental Leave: Paid leave for primary and secondary caregivers Sabbatical: A 1-month paid sabbatical every 5 years with the team Healthcare (US residents): Two medical plans with Close covering the majority of your premium, plus Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, and company-paid Long-Term Disability 401k (US residents): We match your contributions up to 6%, vested immediately Our Values Build a house you want to live in - Examine long-term thinking and action No BS - Practice transparency and honesty, especially when it's hard Invest in each other - Build successful relationships with your coworkers and customers Discipline equals freedom - Keep your word to yourself and others Strive for greatness - Constantly challenge yourself and others Learn More Listen to our CEO and Founder, Steli Efti, tell the story of Close's journey in the $0-30m Blueprint . About Supabase Supabase is the Postgres development platform, built by developers for developers. We provide a complete backend solution including Database, Auth, Storage, Edge Functions, Realtime, and Vector Search. All services are deeply integrated and designed for growth. About the Role We are hiring a AI Platform Engineer to build the execution layer for Supabase's internal AI systems. Supabase is building an AI-native internal operating system: a common way of working across the company where AI carries a meaningful share of the operational load rather than sitting alongside it as an assistant. We are standing up a new central team to build those systems, enable the teams, and embed AI operations throughout the organization. You are the engineer on that team. The execution layer is yours. You will build the platform that actually runs agents: an event-triggered queue, a headless model-agnostic runtime, durable state so work survives a restart, a human review gate, atomic rollback, and full logging of every prompt, tool call and decision so any run can be reconstructed. You will build the evaluation layer that makes any of it trustworthy, because an agent that cannot be measured cannot be trusted with anything beyond reading. And you will build the agents themselves, across everything from executive reporting down to a layer of agents that watch the platform and improve it. This is a governance-heavy environment by design, and that is the interesting part of the problem. Agents are risk-tiered from read-only internal data through to external-facing output, with review depth, evaluation requirements and human approval scaling by tier. Some capabilities are permanently off limits: an agent may read and report, it may carry a human-authored update into a system of record once a human consents, and it may initiate contact within a strict budget, but it may never autonomously write a commitment (an owner, a due date, a status) into a shared work system. Your job is to make that structurally impossible rather than merely forbidden. You will be the only engineer on this platform. You will close open architecture decisions yourself, own the infrastructure end to end, and instrument the system so it reports its own return. What You'll Be Responsible For In this role, you'll: Ship the agent platform to production. An event-triggered queue, a headless model-agnostic runtime (choosing the runtime is an open decision you will close), durable state that survives a failed run, a human review gate, atomic rollback, and complete run logging in the warehouse. Own the evaluation layer, and switch on the gate that depends on it. Golden suites with behavioral assertions rather than intuition, judge criteria with a written rubric, safety cases that must pass on every run, and a CI gate that blocks a regression from merging. This is the precondition for every agent that does anything beyond read internal data. Build and register the agent portfolio. Reporting, drafting, linting, triage and question-answering agents across the executive, team-lead and individual-contributor layers, plus a meta layer that observes the platform and improves it. Enforce governance in code. Risk tiers the pipeline actually enforces, least-privilege credentials per agent, tool-permission gates, a decision audit log, and autonomy classes where the dangerous class has no code path rather than a warning label. Nothing runs without a registered owner, tier, tool grant and human gate. Design how the system contacts people. A hard interruption budget per person, message bundling instead of a stream of pings, and a structure that gives something useful before it asks for anything. Adoption depends on this more than on any other single design choice. Own the platform tooling. The compiler and validator, inventory integrity, and the paths that distribute context and capabilities into the repositories and chat surfaces where work happens. Compute the operating measures from production data. A pipeline from raw system activity through to a computed maturity grade per team, defensible enough that a team can dispute the result and be answered with the query rather than an opinion. Instrument the platform's own return. A ledger that logs the work each agent absorbs and computes the monthly figure, so the value of the system is a measurement rather than a claim. How You'll Think Recursive Thinking You build the generator, not the artifact. When you need thirty agents, you do not write thirty agents; you build the inventory, the compiler and the distribution path that makes the thirty-first cost an afternoon, then a meta layer whose job is to watch the platform, find its drift and file the fix. The evaluation layer is the same move applied to trust. You are not checking whether one agent is correct today. You are building the machine that decides whether every future agent is allowed to ship, which means the suite has to be right in a way the agent does not, and the thing that grades has to be graded too. Inversion Thinking You start from the failure and work backward to the design. The rule is that an agent may never autonomously write a commitment into a shared work system. The weak implementation is an instruction in a prompt. The strong one is that the credential in the agent's tool grant physically cannot set an owner, a due date or a status, so no amount of clever input, prompt injection or model error produces the forbidden write. You reach for the second one first. Same for evaluation. Before writing a suite you enumerate how the agent can be wrong: an update that invents progress that did not happen, one that quotes a private channel into a public digest, one that is accurate and reads as an accusation, one that credits the wrong person. Then the suite is that list, each case caught before the agent ships rather than after it embarrasses someone. AI-Native Execution You use agentic tools on real work, in files and repositories, with the same rigor you apply to anything else you ship. You have a setup of your own and can describe it mechanically: what triggers it, what it is allowed to touch, where the human approves, what it logs, and how you found out the one time it went wrong. That experience is this job, generalized. You are building for async engineers across 40+ countries who will judge the platform by whether it saves them an hour or costs them one, so you are your own first user and your own harshest reviewer. You Might Be a Good Fit If You Must Have Have shipped production LLM agent systems that other people depended on. Not demos, not internal showcases. Systems with operational history, real users and at least one incident you can talk through. Prompt engineering on its own does not clear this bar. Design evaluations, not spot checks. You build golden sets, write behavioral assertions, define judge rubrics, set pass thresholds and gate CI on the result. You can explain why "we reviewed a bunch of outputs and they looked good" is not evaluation. Have done deep API work against the systems work actually lives in , and have authored MCP servers. You know the specific failure modes of those APIs, not just that they exist. Own infrastructure end to end in Python on GCP, with a cloud warehouse and infrastructure as code. You provision, deploy, monitor and roll back your own systems, and you close architecture decisions rather than routing them onward. Have taste about how software contacts humans. You treat every notification as spending a limited amount of trust. Strong Signal Public work in this space. An open-source agent framework, an MCP server, an evaluation harness, or writing on agent reliability that other practitioners cite. LLM observability and cost instrumentation. Tracing agent runs, attributing spend per run, and building the queries that turn raw logs into a report someone acts on. You have built an internal platform that non-engineers adopted voluntarily , and can describe what you changed after watching them use it. What Success Looks Like The platform is boring. Agents run on a schedule and on events, state survives restarts, failed runs roll back cleanly, and every run can be reconstructed from its log. Nothing ships unevaluated. Every registered agent has a real suite with safety cases, the gate blocks regressions, and when someone challenges an output the answer is a test case rather than an argument. The dangerous action is impossible, not discouraged. An audit of any agent's credentials shows it cannot perform the writes it is not allowed to perform, and the audit log makes every consequential decision traceable. Teams pull the platform instead of being pushed. Agents get adopted because the reports are useful and the contact is rare and well-timed, and each team ends up with at least one workflow that runs automatically. The platform reports its own value. The work absorbed is measured and published, so the case for expanding it is made with data rather than enthusiasm. What We Offer Fully Remote We hire globally.
