Elastic, the Search AI Company, enables everyone to find the answers they need in real time, using all their data, at scale — unleashing the potential of businesses and people. The Elastic Search AI Platform, used by more than 50% of the Fortune 500, brings together the precision of search and the intelligence of AI to enable everyone to accelerate the results that matter. By taking advantage of all structured and unstructured data — securing and protecting private information more effectively — Elastic's complete, cloud-based solutions for search, security, and observability help organizations deliver on the promise of AI. What Is The Role Elastic, the Search AI company, is looking for a high-energy Mid Market Account Executive to drive net-new revenue within Mid Market accounts. You'll be the owner of a defined territory where you'll build your own pipeline, tell the Elastic Search AI story, and close complex, multi-stakeholder deals in a consumption-based model. This role sits at the intersection of sales execution, technical fluency, and cross-functional collaboration—and is critical to our growth in the Mid Market segment. What You Will Be Doing Own your territory & build pipeline: Develop and execute a proactive outbound cadence (email, call, social) that generates ≥50 % of your booked opportunities. Deep discovery & qualification: Uncover pain, business impact, budget, and decision criteria using frameworks like MEDDPICC so you chase only the highest-confidence deals. Value storytelling & demos: Craft and deliver tailored narratives and live demos that map Elastic's Search, Observability, and Security capabilities to measurable business outcomes. Mutual deal strategy & forecast accuracy: Collaborate with customers to build formal close plans and keep your CRM up-to-date, maintaining ≥90 % forecast accuracy within ±10 %. Executive negotiation & closing: Lead high-stakes contract and pricing discussions—defend your value, structure give/get trades, and land multi-year consumption commitments. Domain & cloud acumen: Position Elastic as the Search AI platform of choice by speaking fluently about cloud economics, usage-based pricing, and modern data architectures. Cross-functional partnership: Work hand-in-glove with Solutions Architects, Customer Success, Marketing, and RevOps to accelerate deals and drive exceptional customer outcomes. What You Bring Proven SaaS quota‐carrying success: 3+ years closing complex SaaS deals, consistently overachieving targets in a consumption-based or usage-model environment. Expert discovery & qualification skills: Demonstrated ability to apply MEDDPICC or equivalent frameworks to drive disciplined pipeline and eliminate low-probability deals. Compelling value storytellers: Track record of delivering executive-level presentations and demos that tie product capabilities to real dollars saved, revenue gained, or risk mitigated. Strong negotiation chops: History of landing multi-year, high-ACV contracts while protecting margin and securing executive stakeholder buy-in. Technical & cloud fluency: Comfortable discussing a broad range of technical topics including observability, security, vector/traditional search, and cloud cost optimization. Collaborative mindset & coachability: A learner who partners effectively with internal teams, incorporates feedback, and embodies Elastic's values of community and openness. Open Source enthusiasm: Genuine appreciation for open-source communities and the Elastic model—bonus if you've sold or advocated in an OSS context. Bonus Points Prior experience at an open-source or developer‐centric infrastructure company. Familiarity with observability (logs, metrics, traces) or security analytics (SIEM/XDR) use cases. If you're driven to build your own pipeline, master complex deal cycles, and help customers unlock the power of Search AI, we'd love to talk. Apply today! About Us At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world's largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine's Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World's Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. At Cloudflare, we're not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we're looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a "normalized" problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you're the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you'll fit right in. Available Locations: Austin, TX; New York City About the team You will join the Customer Compliance Team, which is focused on building trust with customers through sharing information about Cloudflare's security program and policies. We assist our Customers, Sales teams, and Legal teams in understanding Cloudflare's security posture. In this role, you will develop into an SME across Cloudflare's products, infrastructure, and controls. As part of this mission, you will actively build with and leverage Cloudflare's proprietary, in-house AI platforms and developer tooling to eliminate manual bottlenecks, scale compliance operations, and dramatically accelerate our response times to customer inquiries. What you'll do Security Questionnaires & RFPs: Take ownership of filling out complex customer security questionnaires, RFPs, and technical assessments. You will do this by orchestrating our internal AI generation pipelines to draft responses, paired with your own expert human-in-the-loop validation to ensure high accuracy. Engage with Customers on Security Topics: Act as a trusted security advisor by engaging directly with enterprise customers on security topics. You will meet with customer security teams to resolve deep architectural inquiries, answer specific security questions, and assist legal teams with security terms in contract negotiations. Facilitate Customer Audits: Host, coordinate, and facilitate both on-site and virtual customer audits when customers execute their right to audit, guiding them through our security controls, processes, and compliance evidence. Build with In-House AI Tools: Design, configure, and iterate on custom workflows and compliance assistants using Cloudflare's internally built AI platforms to automate questionnaire triage and security evidence retrieval. Curate AI-Ready Ground Truth Data: Structure, audit, and maintain authoritative knowledge repositories covering SOC 2, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, and global security regulations, ensuring our in-house AI models retrieve verified, up-to-date compliance data. Public Enablement & Trust Portal: Collaborate with marketing and engineering to mature our customer Trust Portal and self-service resources, making it easy for prospects and enterprise customers to evaluate our security posture independently. Author Public Security Content: Research, write, and maintain public-facing white papers, security blogs, and compliance mappings aligned with Cloudflare's evolving product suite and global regulatory shifts. Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: 5–10 years of experience in security compliance, GRC, technical audit management, IT risk consulting, or customer-facing security assurance. Demonstrated ability to build with AI: A hands-on builder mindset with proven experience experimenting with, building on, or configuring AI workflows (e.g., prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation concepts, API-based automations, or internal agent configurations) rather than relying solely on packaged third-party software. Control frameworks: Solid understanding of security risk and compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST SP 800-53 Technical writing & translation: Strong written communication skills with the ability to translate complex networking, infrastructure, and cryptographic concepts into clear, plain-language customer responses and white papers. Customer-facing communication: Highly comfortable and articulate when presenting to or answering questions from external customers, sales executives, and legal counsel. Cross-functional leadership: Comfort partnering across Sales, Product, Legal, and internal Platform/AI Engineering teams to drive projects forward. Technical curiosity: Familiarity with data structures, markdown, APIs, or basic scripting (e.g., Python, SQL, or shell) to prototype solutions and inspect model outputs effectively. Bonus points: Practical cloud/network engineering experience, deep familiarity with global privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), or experience establishing automated operational metrics. Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.
