We are AI builders Since 2018, Enjins has done one thing: ship AI that works in production. From Utrecht and Berlin, we build machine learning systems, data infrastructure, and agentic AI layers for European tech companies, with a deliberate focus on climate and energy, where we believe the biggest technological shift of our generation should meet its most critical challenge. We embed directly with the engineering teams of high-growth scale-ups like Crisp, PlanBlue, NextSense, and Groendus. We take ownership of the full technical lifecycle: from first architecture decision to a production-grade system running inside our partner's infrastructure, long after go-live. The role As Lead AI Engineer, you are the technical owner of client engagements. You architect the solution, ship it to production, and make sure it still performs a year later. Alongside the other Leads, you shape the engineering team and the way we build. In practice: Design AI roadmaps with client leadership and own them through to production Create and implement the AI solution architectures to deliver on those roadmaps Set and uphold Data Platform and MLOps standards across your client portfolio, so systems stay healthy after handover Mentor engineers and weigh in on hiring, team growth, and accounts Push our engineering practice forward, including how we use agentic coding workflows to build faster without compromising reliability. We test, document, and share what works, so the whole team levels up Elevate our product mindset to ensure we build the right things, not just more things Why a Lead role here, not somewhere else You'll work across more stacks, clouds, and frontier frameworks in a year than most engineers see in five, with the collective knowledge of the whole team behind you, not the isolation of freelance work. And because our clients build grid software, energy forecasting, and climate infrastructure, you develop real domain expertise in energy and climate systems on top of production-grade AI engineering. In your first months you'll join a client project alongside an experienced Enjins engineer, supported by a dedicated coach. Within half a year, you own the technical roadmap of at least one engagement, mentor engineers, and have a recognised voice in our Asset strategy. Requirements What matters most: you think in systems, own outcomes end-to-end, and grow the people around you. 5+ years building and scaling data & AI solutions in production environments Strong software engineering fundamentals: you write production-grade code and know your way around infrastructure (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, data pipelines) Mastery of at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience leading MLOps/LLMOps architectures Proven experience taking LLM-based or agentic systems to production Experience mentoring engineers, overseeing delivery, and managing client accounts You can translate technical complexity into clear decisions for non-technical stakeholders Fluent in English and eligible to work in the Netherlands Benefits We publish our salary ranges and keep terms straightforward. No surprises. Compensation €5,950 - €7,800 gross per month (excl. holiday allowance, pension, bonus, equity, and AI-Leap benefits) Annual performance bonus of 1.5 months' salary Equity participation (VSOP) Growth AI-Leap: our structured development programme with a dedicated certification budget and a specialised track for Leads 1-on-1 mentoring with our founders and external coaching to close your specific gaps Team & culture Office on the Oudegracht in Utrecht (note: not yet fully accessible for individuals with physical disabilities); hybrid setup 28 vacation days, flexible across 3 national holidays Monthly team events and the annual two-day Enjins Summer Summit on AI × Climate OV-First travel policy, fully covered; meat-free catering Apple MacBook Pro and the tools you need Find more English Speaking Jobs in Netherlands on Arbeitnow

We create the technology that redefines utilities and unlocks a new energy system of the future. By optimising renewable generation, building a more intelligent grid, and empowering utilities to deliver an exceptional customer experience, our operating system is transforming the industry worldwide. It's an incredibly exciting time to work in energy. Join us on our mission to improve the lives of ONE BILLION humans within the decade and shape a cleaner, better future for everyone. AI is a key investment area for Kraken Technologies. A crucial part of this is building the shared foundations that let every team use AI well and move faster on our mission. You'll work in AI Foundations . We build the platform that lets teams across Kraken build and run AI agents. Our work covers four areas: Access: connecting people and systems to approved AI models and tools Context: grounding AI in trusted Kraken knowledge, data and systems Enablement: reusable building blocks for AI-powered workflows and products Governance: permissions, safety, quality, cost and visibility across the lifecycle 🏡 Where you'll fit in We're hiring Senior Software Engineers to join one of our three squads: Context: Build the Kraken-specific knowledge layer to make LLMs useful. This covers our internal AI assistant, a structured "client brain" that captures client context and decisions, and pipelines that collect knowledge from tools like Notion, Slack and GitHub. Tooling: deliver LLMs into people's hands. We run the AI Hub (usage insights, MCP gateway, self-serve and specialist agents), the LiteLLM gateway behind Claude Code, Codex and Claude Desktop, and secure cloud dev boxes for AI-assisted engineering. Evals & Observability: covers skill evals, internal benchmarking, agent safety and guardrails, and observability for live AI runs. Squads are flexible: when priorities shift, people move. This is a hands-on senior individual-contributor role. With your squad lead and the wider team, you'll own large parts of our platform, turn ideas into production systems, shape architecture decisions and help raise the engineering bar. 👾 What you'll own Build shared AI platform services: Design, build and run Python services that other teams rely on, such as gateways, agent runtimes, knowledge pipelines and eval harnesses. Build and run agents: Work out how agents are triggered, authenticated, monitored and governed across systems like Slack, GitHub, Notion and Asana. Ship both self-serve agents and specialist agents. Ground AI in Kraken context: Collect, structure and serve company knowledge so agents give answers that are correct, current and safe to use. Measure and prove quality: Define meaningful test cases, build evals whose results can be reproduced, and add tracing so we know how AI behaves in real use. Build in safety and governance: Turn permissions, guardrails, budgets and data-access rules into software you can maintain, working with Security and TechOps. Operate in AWS: Deploy and support services on AWS and Kubernetes, and make sound reliability, performance and cost trade-offs. Drive adoption: Work directly with engineers and non-technical teams, run workshops, write clear docs and turn feedback into product. Raise the engineering bar: Review designs and code, mentor others, and create patterns that can be reused across AI Foundations. 🧠 What you bring to the party Strong senior-level software engineering: You have owned complex services end to end, from design through testing, deployment and operation. Deep engineering fundamentals: Good judgement on system design, concurrency, security, testing and architecture trade-offs. Strong production Python. Hands-on LLM and agent experience: You have built real things with LLMs, you know where they fail, and you use AI coding tools every day. Cloud experience: You're comfortable running services in AWS and owning their reliability and scalability. Product sense: You care whether people actually use what you build. Clear communication: You can explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical people and challenge ideas constructively. Learning agility: You pick up new tools and domains quickly in a field that changes every month. 🚀 What success looks like Adoption: You ship platform features that teams across Kraken adopt and rely on. Solid systems: The services you own are observable, secure, scalable and cost-aware. Trust at scale: Teams can build and trust agents without rebuilding the basics. Team impact: You make your squad, and the teams around it, better. ⭐️ Bonus points: AI engineering: Pydantic AI, LiteLLM, LangChain, MCP servers Knowledge and retrieval: RAG, search, embeddings, knowledge graphs Evals and safety: Inspect AI, Ragas, OpenAI Evals, NeMo Guardrails, red teaming Platform: Kubernetes, sandboxed or cloud dev environments, AWS Bedrock Backend: Django Observability: Datadog, OpenTelemetry Are you ready for a career with us? About Nabla Nabla delivers a unified clinical AI platform used by healthcare organizations across specialties and care settings. The platform includes: Ambient AI documentation that captures clinical conversations and generates structured notes. AI-powered dictation and clinical workflow tools embedded directly within EHR systems. Agentic AI capabilities that support multi-step clinical and administrative tasks. Enterprise-grade infrastructure built for secure deployment across health systems. About the Role We are scaling our healthcare AI platform, with more products, integrations and AI agents, and more protected health information (PHI) flowing through them. To keep pace, we're growing our security engineering team and looking for an exceptional Senior Security Engineer . Our cloud infrastructure handles highly sensitive healthcare data, so security is core to everything we do. Our engineers already ask the right questions every day: can we use a one-time token here? How long should it live? How do we scope this OAuth Client? You'll work directly with our Lead Security Engineer to bring real AppSec expertise into the product squads, and to strengthen security well beyond them. This is a hands-on, high-impact role. About half your time goes to AppSec , but it is deliberately a broad security engineering role, not a pure code-review or pentest job. You'll regularly cross into platform and cloud, CI/CD and detection, and you'll own problems from start to finish. Code scanning, SCA and AI-driven code review are already running, but there is no AppSec process to undo. The threat-modeling practice, the security review loop, the triage rhythm and the secure-by-default libraries don't exist yet. You'll build them and run them. If you're pragmatic, love working shoulder to shoulder with developers, and want your work to protect patients' most sensitive data, this role is for you. Responsibilities Partner with the product squads as their go-to security engineer: design reviews, per-feature threat modeling, and fast, opinionated answers on authN/authZ, tokens and session design. Secure our authentication and authorization surfaces (OAuth clients, one-time codes, multi-org tenancy, the Core API user API, embedded/postMessage SDKs) and hunt for BOLA, IDOR and broken access control before attackers do. Run the code-security findings loop: triage and prioritize results from our SAST, SCA, secrets and IaC scanners and AI-driven code review, route them to the right owners with SLAs, and drive the dependency-vulnerability backlog down, fixing issues yourself when that's faster. Secure our AI/LLM features and internal agents, covering prompt injection, tool and permission scoping for autonomous agents, PHI leakage, de-identification assurance and model/API egress. Run the external testing program: scope and run pentests (web, mobile, backoffice), validate fixes, operate our vulnerability disclosure program, and stand up a bug bounty. Build secure-by-default guardrails (secure coding guidelines, hardened libraries and patterns, pre-commit and PR checks) so the secure path is the easy path. Qualifications 5 to 8+ years in security engineering, including at least 2 to 3 years in application or product security, or experience as a software engineer with a strong security focus. Deep understanding of modern web and API security: OAuth 2.0 / OIDC, session and token design, multi-tenancy, and the OWASP Top 10 and API Top 10. You can find access-control flaws by reading code. Strong coder, comfortable reading and fixing production code (mostly Kotlin and Python, plus web, mobile and desktop clients) and automating in Python. Experience running threat modeling and security design reviews, and operating SAST, SCA and secrets scanning in CI with a real triage loop, not just a dashboard. Genuine breadth: comfortable moving between an API design review, a supply-chain hardening PR and an incident in the same week, and honest about what you don't know yet. Excellent communicator who earns developers' trust and works well with engineering, compliance and IT. Full professional fluency in French and English (oral and written). Nice to have: LLM / AI agent security, mobile app security, pentest or bug bounty experience, GCP / GKE, or experience in healthcare or another regulated industry. Life at Nabla When you join Nabla, you join a team that is driven by excellence, curiousity, and kindness. Together, we're committed to making clinicians' lives easier and improving healthcare experiences for everyone. We believe clinicians should be able to focus on what they were trained to do, caring for their patients, and that no patient should feel their visit was rushed. We work hard and make time to have fun, too. Our #nablabla channel is just as active as #feature-show-off . We support well-being with workday activities at least three times a week; choose from yoga, running, Pilates, or HIIT. We also host regular off-sites, meet up across New York, Paris, San Francisco, and other cities, and keep the chocolate and nuts well stocked. If this sounds like an environment where you'll thrive, we look forward to reading your application. Our Values at Nabla Joining Nabla means being part of a team that shares a commitment to excellence, humility, growth, and inclusion.
