About HappyRobot HappyRobot is the infrastructure for enterprises to build and orchestrate AI workforces. Our AI workers don't just communicate through voice and email - they make decisions, take action, and run operations autonomously across entire enterprise systems. Born in Y Combinator (S23) and backed by a16z, Base10, Prysm Capital and Eurazeo with over $200M raised, we power critical operations for global enterprises worldwide. Our platform is battle-tested in the most demanding environments, where AI has real consequences. We started in logistics, built our own voice stack, models, and orchestration layer from the ground up, and are now bringing that infrastructure to every enterprise that runs the real economy. Learn more about our vision in our manifesto. Role Overview We are looking for a Deployment Strategist to join our team. In this role, you'll partner with Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) across the full deployment lifecycle, from first discovery conversation to live production. You'll lead use case discovery and scoping with senior customer stakeholders, ship prototypes hands-on to prove value early, then stay close to the build through delivery to bring the strategic, business-value lens to every decision. You're the partner who keeps the work pointed at the highest-impact outcomes, ready to pick up the keyboard alongside the FDE when the moment calls for it. We're looking for engineers with strategic instincts: people who can write code, but whose deepest strength is the strategic, opinionated lens they bring across every phase of a deployment - spotting where value lives, scoping it realistically, and partnering with engineers to capture it from prototype to production. At HappyRobot, there's no role seniority or hierarchy. We operate as a team of builders. We execute, we build, we own, and we care deeply about our customers and their success. What You'll do Strategic Leadership and Use Case Discovery: Partner with Global and Regional C-Level executives and VPs to assess AI opportunities and prioritize the highest-impact use cases. Lead curiosity-driven discovery that surfaces the workflows where AI creates the most business value, well beyond what the customer thought to ask for. Build the trusted relationships that let you present findings and challenge assumptions at the most senior levels, keeping technical delivery aligned with their business priorities. Scoping : Frame impact versus effort with rigor on both axes. On business value, pressure-test the realistic upside, question whether the use case as posed will actually deliver the most impact, and explore whether reframing it or pivoting to an adjacent process would unlock more. The art is deeply understanding how to maximize value of this use case for the customer, not just delivering what was asked for. On technical effort, map integrations, data, and platform constraints, and surface the edge cases and dependencies that shape timelines. Land on a plan that's realistic on both. Prototyping : Build prototypes and demos hands-on. Use our platform and AI-powered coding tools to test ideas end-to-end at light scope. Prove value early, before the customer commits. Program Management : Coordinate work across the active deployments in an account. Be the escalation point for the customer and the watchout partner for the FDE. Stay close enough to the build that you both understand the use case deeply, spot opportunities to capture more value, and catch when work is drifting from the highest-impact path. Prioritization : Sequence use cases within an account so each deployment compounds the next. Make the call on what gets built when, what gets parked, and where to invest discovery and building time. Customer Partnership : Be the main business-side point of contact for the account. Build trust with operational and executive stakeholders day-to-day. Translate AI capabilities into language they can act on. Onsite Embedding : Travel onsite for kickoffs, mapping sessions, and key moments where being on the ground changes the outcome. Product Feedback Loop : Bring field signal back to Product and Engineering. Identify reusable patterns, common edge cases, and where the platform needs to evolve. Must Have Background that mixes technical depth with strategic instinct, and a real history of building things. Common paths include engineering (Computer Science, electrical, industrial, systems), data science, founding a tech startup, product management, or technical / strategic consulting. Comfortable coding -mostly Python- using LLMs and AI-powered tools like Claude Code to ship prototypes fast. Working understanding of APIs, integrations, and how AI agents sit inside enterprise workflows. Strategic instinct: ability to spot the business value behind a workflow and translate it into impact, effort, and prioritization terms a C-level can act on. Excellent communication skills with both executives and operators. Comfortable translating between business and technical without losing either side. Proven ability to prioritize ruthlessly across multiple workstreams and drive outcomes, not just activity. Founder mindset: highly independent, takes ownership, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Why join us? Join a world-class team of engineers and builders. Backed by top investors including a16z, Y Combinator, Base10, Prysm Capital and Eurazeo. Have ownership and autonomy of projects and are encouraged to ship. Comprehensive Benefits including healthcare, dental, vision coverage. Competitive salary + equity in a high-growth startup. Our Operating Principles Extreme Ownership We take full responsibility for our work, outcomes, and team success. No excuses, no blame-shifting — if something needs fixing, we own it and make it better. This means stepping up, even when it's not "your job." If a ball is dropped, we pick it up. If a customer is unhappy, we fix it. If a process is broken, we redesign it. We don't wait for someone else to solve it — we lead with accountability and expect the same from those around us. Craftsmanship Putting care and intention into every task, striving for excellence, and taking deep ownership of the quality and outcome of your work. Craftsmanship means never settling for "just fine." We sweat the details because details compound. Whether it's a product feature, an internal doc, or a sales call — we treat it as a reflection of our standards. We aim to deliver jaw-dropping customer experiences by being curious, meticulous, and proud of what we build — even when nobody's watching. We are "majos" Be friendly & have fun with your coworkers. Always be genuine & honest, but kind. "Majo" is our way of saying: be a good human. Be approachable, helpful, and warm. We're building something ambitious, and it's easier (and more fun) when we enjoy the ride together. We give feedback with kindness, challenge each other with respect, and celebrate wins together without ego. Urgency with Focus Create the highest impact in the shortest amount of time. Move fast, but in the right direction. We operate with speed because time is our most limited resource. But speed without focus is chaos. We prioritize ruthlessly, act decisively, and stay aligned. We aim for high leverage: the biggest results from the simplest, smartest actions. We're running a high-speed marathon — not a sprint with no strategy. Talent Density and Meritocracy Hire only people who can raise the average; 'exceptional performance is the passing grade.' Ability trumps seniority. We believe the best teams are built on talent density — every hire should raise the bar. We reward contribution, not titles or tenure. We give ownership to those who earn it, and we all hold each other to a high standard. A-players want to work with other A-players — that's how we win. First-Principles Thinking Strip a problem to physics-level facts, ignore industry dogma, rebuild the solution from scratch. We don't copy-paste solutions. We go back to basics, ask why things are the way they are, and rebuild from the ground up if needed. This mindset pushes us to innovate, challenge stale assumptions, and move faster than incumbents. It's how we build what others think is impossible. The personal data provided in your application and during the selection process will be processed by Happyrobot, Inc., acting as Data Controller. About Jitsu Jitsu is a last-mile delivery service that allows brands to give their customers a consistent delivery experience all the way to the doorstep. Using a proprietary AI-powered technology platform, Jitsu helps its customers deliver on their promise of affordable, reliable, expedited shipping with a 99+% on-time delivery rate. Logistics teams can now provide a differentiated delivery experience at a competitive cost through successful first delivery attempts, fewer claims, coverage in the markets that matter, and upfront pricing with no hidden surcharges. Jitsu operates in urban areas across the U.S., enabling high-volume shippers to exercise control over their end-to-end delivery network. Learn more at gojitsu.com Role Overview We're looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the design and architecture of mission-critical apps our delivery fleet and operations teams rely on in the field and in our logistics facilities. Thousands of delivery partners and Jitsu staff use these apps at any given moment, and our operations run on them. That means you'll own real solutions to real business problems . You'll become a trusted member of a team that cares deeply about quality and craft , because we believe that's the best way to serve our clients, customers, partners, and teammates. AI is changing how software gets built week to week, and we see that as an opportunity . Together, we'll turn each new capability into better tools and better ways of working. What You'll Do We're not hiring someone to close tickets. We're hiring someone to understand real operational problems and own the solutions, using whatever technology the problem calls for. Start with the problem. Spend real time with the people who rely on our work: operations leaders, site leads, warehouse teams, and delivery partners. You'll do whatever it takes to deeply understand the problem and the people you're serving, which may include visiting warehouses, working a sort shift, or riding along on a delivery route. Own the solution, not just the code. Take problems from discovery through design, delivery, and adoption, and stay with them until they're actually solved in the field. Build technology that holds up in the real world. Our Flutter apps move millions of shipments a year, in warehouses and on the road. You'll make them work offline, scan fast, track location reliably, and ship releases our operations can count on. Work across the stack. If the right solution needs a backend service, a data fix, new tooling, or a process change, you'll make sure it happens, building it yourself when needed, and also partnering with the broader engineering team. Shape how we build with AI. Help us figure out what new AI capabilities mean for our tools, our workflow, and our craft, and turn the best ideas into everyday practice. Raise the bar for everyone. Mentor teammates, set technical direction and quality standards for mobile, and make the engineers around you better. What Matters Most We care more about how you solve problems than about any list of skills. The engineers who thrive here are the ones who see every unfamiliar problem as something they can figure out. We believe almost anything can be learned and accomplished if you ask the right questions and assemble the right context. We're Looking For Someone Who Owns solutions end to end. You don't hand off a problem just because it's outside your area. You dig in and get it done instead of waiting for someone else. Uses AI to go beyond their specialty. You can point to real work outside your core expertise that you shipped by working effectively with AI tools. Has good judgment about AI. You know when its output is right, when it's subtly wrong, and how to give it the context it needs. Makes the people around them better. You communicate clearly, explain your thinking to technical and non-technical audiences, and people want you on their projects. Permission to Play These are the baseline for this senior role. They're necessary, but they're not what will set you apart: 5+ years building and shipping production iOS and Android apps, with deep Flutter expertise. Solid mobile architecture skills: state management, modular structure, and patterns that keep a growing codebase maintainable. Experience designing and consuming REST and gRPC APIs, and a working understanding of distributed systems. A track record of performant, reliable features for a large user base, built alongside other engineers. Nice to Have Native iOS or Android SDK experience (Swift or Kotlin). Experience integrating on-device or cloud AI/ML features into mobile apps. Why Jitsu Solve meaningful business problems that have a visible impact every single day Be part of a well-funded, fast-growing company tackling complex and relevant challenges Gain critical experience applying cutting-edge AI technologies in a variety of settings Competitive compensation and equity incentives Health, vision, and dental insurance 401(k) plan Unaccrued PTO Policy 100% remote The Pay Range For This Role Is 130,000 - 170,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
