Responsibilities Serve as a subject-matter expert across the commercial contract lifecycle, answering questions and advising deal owners on the supportability elements of sales contract reviews Review and interpret commercial and legal terms, identify operational requirements and potential risks, and prepare agreements or deal inputs for review under established guidelines. Partner with Deal Pricing, Deal Strategy, Commercial Legal, Business Practices, Accounting, Billing, Tax, Sales Operations, Engineering, and account teams to align commercial objectives with operational capabilities. Review and, where appropriate, advise on commercial terms, balancing user needs, Stripe's objectives, operational feasibility, and risk. Own the feedback loop with Pricing Activation for accurate and timely onboarding of custom contracts and pricing terms into Stripe's billing and financial systems. Manage contract and deal workflows in relevant systems, maintain clear documentation, and provide proactive communication on status, dependencies, and next steps. Build scalable, auditable processes and controls that balance and improve contract quality, activation accuracy, deal velocity, and the user experience. Analyze operational data and recurring issues to identify root causes, measure performance, and recommend process or system improvements. Partner with Engineering and internal systems teams to translate operational needs into durable tooling, automation, and workflow enhancements. Support internal and external audits, key programs, and other cross-functional initiatives as needed. Contribute to building a high-performing team culture grounded in sound judgment, continuous improvement, accountability, and excellent stakeholder service.   Who you are We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement. Minimum requirements 5+ years of relevant experience in commercial contracting, deal management, legal operations, monetization operations, pricing activation, billing operations, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to interpret commercial and legal language and translate complex contract terms into clear operational and system requirements. Experience reviewing commercial agreements and partnering effectively with Legal or other risk and control functions; experience supporting commercial negotiations is strongly valued. Proven ability to manage a high volume of work with meticulous attention to detail, strong organization, and consistent follow-through. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex requirements clearly, earn trust quickly, and represent Stripe effectively with stakeholders. Demonstrated success partnering across functions and balancing commercial objectives, operational constraints, user experience, and risk. A solution-oriented mindset and a track record of establishing best practices, improving processes, and delivering results in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and escalate thoughtfully when established frameworks do not fully address a situation. Preferred qualifications Experience in payments, fintech, SaaS, or another technology-driven industry. Experience with custom pricing, contract activation, billing implementation, or post-signature contract operations. Experience designing or improving contract lifecycle management, deal management, or pricing activation workflows and systems.
